Bundled Up Trio with Heather

Hello everyone...
Heather here once more and today I'm using the beautiful new Catherine Pooler trio Bundled Up.
I've used one of the new Visible Image stamps for this make, Total Chaos, as it's big and 'in your face' and the colours of the Bundled Up trio were perfect for the watery effect I wanted. This gorgeous sparkly trio, has some quite large glittery flakes in it so give it a bit of a shake before using.
I stamped the large flower head 3 times and one full flower onto watercolour card using the Peppermint Scrub embossing powder.  Make sure you heat from underneath to start with so the larger flakes don't fly away and once they've begun to melt, you can transfer the heat to the top of the image.

Once heat set, you can add your colour; I chose to use pinks and oranges as I love the colour combination with cool blues and greens. Trim the different layers of the flower and adhere together using foam tape.

Heat emboss the two smaller flowers using the Skylight powder and colour.
I decided at this point to add some background texture so masked over the florals by stamping onto scrap paper and sticking them over the stamped images.  I then
stamped the circuit board stamp using the fabulous WOW! Embossing Pad and Metallic Copper Regular.
Using the Sage powder from the trio, I stamped the leaf stamp twice and coloured using watercolours.  Having layered it up using foam tape, I secured it into place, adding the two smaller dots from the leaf stamp.
For the sentiment, I stamped the  'Chaos Theory' image using Versafine Clair 'Nocturne' and  heat embossed another using Opaque British Summer Regular which I coloured using watercolours.  Having trimmed the circle out, I layered it over the original using foam tape.
With the card matted and layered onto pink card and then a card blank, I added Ranger's Glossy Accents and some adhesive gems for added texture.

That's all from me today but don't forget to share any of your makes using WOW! products over on the WOW! Embossing Fans Page on Facebook.  It's a great source of inspiration and there's the monthly challenge to enter too!

See you all soon, H xx

WOW! Mixed Media Brush in Art Journaling

Hi everyone! As soon as the New Mixed Media Embossing Brush was released, I knew I wanted to try it in my art journals. That is what I am doing today. The effect is awesome and so fun!

I started by using the Mixed Media Brush to apply embossing liquid through a stencil on my unprimed journal page. You can make it as thick or thin as you prefer using the brush, however, through a stencil, the thicker it is the less crisp your pattern will be. I used the stencil in 3 places across my page and then I sprinkled Blue Moon embossing powder over the top, tapped off the excess and heat embossed with my Wow! Dual Embossing tool.

Once the powder set, I added Dina Wakley Media Gloss Sprays to create my background. The embossing texture acted like a resist to the paint. I continued to add paint to the background as well as some stamping until I was pretty happy.

One thing I thought would be fun was to use embossing powders on a chipboard focal piece. Using the Mixed Media Embossing Brush once again, I covered the entire chipboard shape and then sprinkled Sea of Tranquility embossing powder on top. Removed the excess and then used my heat tool to set it. I really love the texture in the Seth Apter Trio's...you get a mix of colors from black and white to the beautiful color of the powder. It's lush!

You can see how the entire journal page comes together in the video above or on the Wow! Embossing YouTube channel!

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you enjoyed seeing how I use Wow! Embossing powder in my mixed media art. We love to see what you are creating, too! Tag us on social media @wowembossing and @inkyfairydesigns when you do.
