Glitter, Shine and Metallic .........with Pink & Main

Hi All, Jo here and welcome to today's blog post.
This month the Design Team have had the pleasure on working on projects to collab with the Pink & Main products now available in the WOW store.

The cards I have made is simple yet striking as the embossing powders I have used both metallic and glitter mix speak for themselves.
I'm hoping that you can see in these cards the effectiveness yet simplicity of this simple card layout doesn't need to be over complicated at all.
The background stampset I have used is the WOW's "POP" background.
For the sentiment I have used the versatile "Congrats" stamp and coordinating die from Pink & Main.  This fabulous stampset and die can also be layered as it has the detailed script of the word as well as the out layer of the sentiment.
I have created a video show casing these embossing powders and stamps.

Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoyed today's card creations.
Hugs Jo

Make a Wish... Stamp Set

It feels like spring already arrived in Northern California. The weather has been warm and sunny all week. I know next week will bring fog and rain, so I took advantage of the weather while I could.

I've been wearing lighter, brighter colors and my mood lightened with it. As I was thinking of my project for today, I channeled my mood and colors into a card.

I could not quite decide between a gift card holder and a birthday card, so I did both.

The stamps are all from WOW!'s new release "Make a Wish" stamp set (STAMPSET16).

The technique is layering a few mats and stamped sheets to create a split, dimension effect. I used measurements shared by Dawn Olchefske, a stamping demonstrator and avid crafter on her YouTube video from last summer. I tried to do my own measurements, but was failing miserably. So, I started with hers and adjusted them a bit to include the gift card holder (see these notes at the end).

Keep Calm... with Jen Matott

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it is a cause that is near and dear to me. My mother-in-law and aunt are both breast cancer survivors of 10+ years!  I recently lost a classmate that was the same age as me to breast cancer.  Even though I had not talked to her in many years, it hit home how awful this disease is and devastating it is to families, friends, and colleagues.  We need to raise money to help fight cancer!  I bet each of you know someone who as battled, is battling or lost the battle to breast cancer!  So, as a tribute to those individuals, I made a plaque to remind us all to keep calm & journey on!  It's a journey to carry on, fight or just give support to those that are facing a challenge like this.
I used some of the WOW stamps from the "Simply Amazing" set.  This is the cameo on the ribbon.  I stamped the silhouette on a piece of patterned paper with Faber-Castell's Stamper's Big Brush Pen and then stamped the frame with VersaMark and…

Steampunk Wall Hanging

Jen Matott here to share a Steampunk-themed project that started out as a card front and emerged into a wall hanging because I just couldn't stop myself from adding more and more!  I started with a shipboard base and used modeling paste through a Prima gear stencil.

I used Basically Bare's gears in chipboard and cardboard and applied VersaMark to them and added the metallic powders in Ultra High Gold and Regular Silver and Regular Copper.  These powders create such an amazing metallic surface that it appears to be real metal!  I also stamped a wing onto a wing chipboard piece and embossed the felt key with silver powder!  It gives it a very shimmery and flocked appearance!  The dressform is also Basically Bare and I peeled away the top layer and stamped VersaMark again to the raised areas and embossed Ultra High Gold and Regular Copper.

Here you can see that while the Ultra High Gold was wet, I added a bit of Black Glint to mix in.  Gives it an aged look don't you think?

LOVE

Hi All!! So glad you stopped by today to visit the WOW! blog.

Today I am going to share with you a card I made that can be given really to just about anyone special in your life that you love. The color of the background is totally up to you and can easily be changed depending on if you wanted to give this to a male or female. For this card I used Bubble Gum Embossing Powder from the Suzy West Candy Counter Collection, and Opaque Bright White and Gold Rich Embossing Powders from the WOW! Collection. I also used the Suzy West "Gratitude" Stamp Set to make the hearts.

So I started out by using a piece of bubble wrap that I inked up with embossing ink and then pressed onto my white cardstock. I then sprinkled it with the Bubble Gum Embossing Powder, tapped off the excess, and then heated it up.

Next I stamped out four sets of hearts from the Gratitude Stamp Set on black cardstock, and colored them by making two Opaque Bright White and two Gold Rich. I then cut out the hearts and a…

WOW Embossing Powders = WOW Projects!

Hi everybody!!! Amy Prior here today to share some recent creations using fabulous WOW Embossing Powders. I love WOW powders mainly because they are so easy to add the perfect touches to any project and without too much fuss or effort if that is what I am going for. Checkout these projects featuring small WOW details that help take these projects from Good to WOW! hehe yes I am a dork who likes play on words.....
First up is a fabulous card that would warm the coldest of hearts on any occassion. At first glance, the WOW powder may not be as obvious however the Chipboard words have been coated with a layer of one of my faves, Suzy West Bubblegum Pink, and the beautiful Handmade Halo Resin Flower in the centre of my "sun" was originally a pretty shade of peach. Peach just didn't work perfectly so a quick coat of Suzy West California Sunshine and we are back in business! How cool is this card and it honestly was such a quickie for me! The longest part was waiting for the Hel…

First up is Jen Matott!
Here is what she says about her amazing banner! "I created a mixed media banner using Basically Bare's Oh So Mini albums that were released this month.I love the different materials that they are made from and how the stamps and embossing powders work on them! I used many items to create this banner.
This cardboard piece was created with a brick template and VersaMark with WOW Embossing powders mixed and layered. I started with Cable Car Red and then layered Black Glint and some Copper. I then added the "Journey" Stamp and embossed with Bright White. The dots are Gelatos through a stencil and then dripped some Gelatos mixed wi…
