Make a Wish - May Sketch Challenge

Hi! It's Sandie here today and I am sharing my take on this month's challenge, which is to follow one of the sketches below.
I chose to follow the top left sketch and this is what I came up with

I used my papers, which are Sweet Pea from Kaisercraft, to create the layout of the sketch and then stamped lightly over the dotty paper with the De-Vine clear stamp and Brushed Corduroy distress ink.  I then cut a stitched oval from another designer paper and finally a cardstock oval on which I stamped my sentiment from the Make a Wish clear stamp set.
Also from the Make a Wish set, I embossed a butterfly using Gold Satin Pearlpowder. I trimmed it out using a scissors and added some gold pearl pen down the 'spine' of the butterfly.

I die cut some flourishes from cream cardstock and embossed them with Chartreuse powder. I layered on my flourishes and flowers and finished off by adding some more of the gold pearl pen and some cream pearls to the flourishes.

Make a Wish...

Hi!! It's Sandie here today with a little WOW Inspiration for you. This month our theme to follow is Nature and here is what I came up with.

I love this Make a Wish stamp set and thought it was perfect for the theme. I started off with a white card base (105mm x 148mm) and layered on a slightly smaller piece of kraft card, leaving a white border all around. The I cut another piece of white card slightly smaller than the kraft. I used a mix of glimmer mists and spritzed the card. If you're as impatient as me you can use your heat gun to dry the mist spray rather than wait for it to dry ;)

Once I had dried the mist spray I took some Primary Bark embossing powder and added the Dandelions. Then I stamped out the sentiment, also in the set, with black memento ink.

Make A Wish

I wanted to create a Birthday card, but wanted a little dimension on it. So I pulled out my WOW powders, a stamp set, some blooms, chippies and pop dots! I found some scrap Websters Pages papers that would work and got busy!

Here is the finished card:

I used the Suzy West "Make a Wish" stamp set, along with the Suzy West Sour Lemon regular, Bubble Gum regular, and Opaque Bright White regular embossing powders. I used the Sour Lemon and the "Make A Wish" sentiment  stamp around the edge of the base. I also embossed the chipboard scallop border with it. I used the Opaque Bright white in the center. The flourish is done with the Bubble Gum.

I used a generic leaf stamp and made some tiny leaves to go with the little blooms. The bling accent is from Websters Pages. As well as the little cake.

Here you see the pink flourish behind the blooms. I added liquid pearl accents to the banner and used pop dots for dimension.

Make a Wish... Stamp Set

It feels like spring already arrived in Northern California. The weather has been warm and sunny all week. I know next week will bring fog and rain, so I took advantage of the weather while I could.

I've been wearing lighter, brighter colors and my mood lightened with it. As I was thinking of my project for today, I channeled my mood and colors into a card.

I could not quite decide between a gift card holder and a birthday card, so I did both.

The stamps are all from WOW!'s new release "Make a Wish" stamp set (STAMPSET16).

The technique is layering a few mats and stamped sheets to create a split, dimension effect. I used measurements shared by Dawn Olchefske, a stamping demonstrator and avid crafter on her YouTube video from last summer. I tried to do my own measurements, but was failing miserably. So, I started with hers and adjusted them a bit to include the gift card holder (see these notes at the end).

No Tricks, Just treats on this page!

Hello There! Today we have four girls from the Wow Glitter Girls team to show you some treats!   No tricks on this page, except for some fun new ones you could try on your own projects!   Today we have a little of everything, so lets take a peek at what is here! First off, we have Jenifer Cowles. The inspiration for this layout was the beautiful shimmery Bodacious Blue embossing powder.  It happened to match her daughter’s shirt so she used it as the theme for her layout. "I used the Bodacious Blue, Neutral Ultra Shimmer and Opaque Bright white embossing powders. The Stamps I used were the Funky Border Strips and the Make a Wish stamp."
We love how interesting it is too stamp on the feather, and  love the dandelion image from the Make a Wish set!  It goes together great!

Now, Look at this beauty that Jen Matott has created!   WOWSERS!!! Looks as though Jen did a few different things to create this stunning effect. "I used Helmar's Gemstone Glue with a foam applicator through a…

Dreamer!

Hi Bloggers, Rachel here again with my project for this months Monochromatic Challenge.

I love the pearlescent powders but wasn't sure what I wanted to create with them until I saw an article by Louise Nelson in Scrap 365 magazine using tranparencies. I loved her ideas so here is my offering using a similar layout to one of hers.

I only used Silver Pearl Embossing Powder but as you can see the effect changes dependant on the colour of ink or card used, shown on the heat resistant acetate and the stamped dandelions.

Although I edited the photo's of my 'far away' son so that they were soft images I tried to keep the look a little more masculine by doodling borders - I don't think it's too feminine, is it?!

The products I've used are: Silver Pearl Embossing Powder
Brocade - Clear Stamp

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and don't forget to keep popping back to see what our other fabulous design team members have been up …

Creating a background with foils

Hello again. My name is Emma (aka The Sparkly Fairy). I was so excited when I received the WOW! Embossing Foils to play with. The challenge WOW! have set this month is Nature or Vintage and the DT have been lucky enough to have the foils to use.

First I created a background using double sided adhesive and layering on two different foil colours - red and gold.  Then I stamped the dandelions from the Make a Wish stamp set over the top using Stazon Ink.

The 3D butterfly is created using the butterfly from the Simply Amazing set, stamped onto heat resistant acetate, covered with WOW! bonding powder and foiled with gold foil. I cut out a black butterfly to layer it on so it stood out more.

Once I had mounted the piece onto the card I used the iron technique to add foils to the small dandelions on the black card. To do this - stamp the image with an embossing pad and then pour over the WOW! Bonding Powder. Place the foil over the top, turn over the card and iron with a medium heat on the b…
