White Out Resist Background by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends.

Susanne here today. A while ago I watched a video by Marion Emberson on the WOW! YouTube channel and I loved what she did. I've never heard about an embossing resist technique with acrylic paint. But it works perfectly and if you use white paint you'll get a wonderful shabby chic look.

Enjoy the video!

Here are some close-ups and detail information:

I used a heart die from Die-Namites and covered it completely with WOW! Perissa powder. The little black heart is embossed with Black Glint powder. The stamp is from the Layered Hearts stamp set. I used the tiny stamps to add a little bit more interest on my old book paper.

This super sparkly heart is cut from a piece of cardstock where I added double sided tape before cutting. I used Fab Foil Gold scraps and the brand new WOW! Sparkles Celebration on the sticky side.

Thank you for stopping by today!
xx Susanne

Box for Christmas Gift

Hello, crafty friends!
It is time to start Christmas preparation, so I've created a gift box for our monthly challenge. At first I made a simple box out of watercolour paper, size 10*15 cm, 5 cm tall. Then I cut pieces of paper the size of the sides and the lid, stamped with Wow Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad the confetti from Clear Stamp Set Let It Snow (by Marion Emberson) and embossed with WC06 Metallic Platinum embossing powder. I glued them to the box and sprayed with red spray here and there.
Also with this powder I decorated chipboard stars and the frame. To create some embellishments I stamped snowflakes and star from the same stamp set with red pigment ink and covered with WA01 Clear Gloss SF and then fussy cut them. The chipboard sentiment is embossed with two layers of WL01 Bright White powder for enamel look.

Let's Get Festive

Good morning crafty friends, I hope all's well in your crafty worlds! It's that time again where I get to use lots of fabulous WOW! products and create something for the blog challenge. This month the challenge is to use one stamp in three different ways.

I decide to use the Let It Snow stamp and I started by stamping snowflakes for the background in Opaque Bright White powder which I then gently inked. I then created a shaker element and used Teal Fab Foil and bonding powder for the falling snow.

Finally, I stamped a sentiment on vellum with Metallic Silver powder and added snowflakes either side which I stamped then triple embossed with Clear Gloss powder.
The possibilities are endless with this challenge, I hope you all have a lot of fun with it.
Enjoy! Sarah xxx

MARIPOSA COLORED EMBOSSING CARD

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a colorful card that I created using the stamp set Mariposa designed by Maya Isaksson and WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder. Take a look at my card:

Creating this card was a fun time: 1. Cut the base of the card using Very Vanilla card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2" 2. Cut a second layer of Very Vanilla. The size is 4-1/8"x5-3/8". 3. Cut the die cut Leafy Border using Old Olive card stock. 4. Stamp the butterfly images from the stamp set Mariposa over the second layer using Splendor #10 Ink. This is a craft ink in Circus colors. 5. Cover your images with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder and melt it with the WOW Heat Tool. 6. Stamp the words from the stamp set Just Saying by Marion Emberson using the same ink and covered with the same embossing powder. Melt with the WOW Heat Tool. 7. Paste the Leafy Border die cut over the left border of the stamped layer. 8. Paste the decorated layer o…

HELLO LITTLE FLOWERS

Hello crafty friends, It's Martha Lucia and it's my turn to share with you! I hope you are enjoying our projects this month using flowers because this is my favorite theme - I love flowers and the Hey Little Flowers stamp set is one of my favorites right now. Take a look at my card:

I started by stamping the background with lineal flowers included on the stamp set Hey Little Flower using WOW Embossing Pad and then heat embossed it with WOW Clear Gloss Regular Embossing Powder. Next, I tied on some natural thread cord and then built the rest of the card from there. I wanted to use the new colors of WOW Embossing Powders and I decided to use Strawberry Sundae, Mind Macaroon and Banana Split to stamp each flower ... delicious, right???

First I stamped each flower using WOW Embossing Pad and then heat embossed these with these three different colors of WOW Regular Embossing Powder, all inspired by Marion Emberson as well as both stamp sets that I used, the Hey Little Flower and th…

Mixed Media Canvases - Tutorial by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends!
Today I'd like to share a step by step tutorial for these two mixed media canvases.

Here are the instructions:
1. Cut two chipboard hearts and emboss them with a folder of your choice. Prime them with gesso. One with white, one with black.

2. Wipe the Embossing Ink Pad very slightly over both hearts. Add WOW! bonding powder to the white one. Melt it and add the WOW! Fab Foil Gold immediately.
Add WOW! Irridium to the black one.

 3. It's time to create the backgrounds. I use acrylic spray paints plus stencils at first.

4. I add Gelatos. I love to blend them with my fingers or a baby wipe.

5. I add some Embossing for a bit of texture. Stamp through the stencils with the Embossing Ink Pad and use WOW! Iced Silver and WOW! Turkish Nights Glitter.

6. I love to create texture so I add some more. I use fluorescent blue acrylic paint on the left canvas and Imagine Crafts Creative Medium on the right one.

7. I cut some leaves and colour them wi…

Watercolor Tag by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends.

Today I'd like to share a Butterfly tag with you. I love creating tags, because you can try out new techniques easily and you can use the finished tags in so many ways. I add them to Art Journal pages or my planner. Another idea is, to use them for some wall decor and also on gifts.
For this tag I started with a watercolor background. I used watercolor sprays together with Brusho powders. I used black pigment ink to stamp my butterflie,s because you'll get a better impression on watercolor paper. As I don't want to wait until the ink is dry, I used WOW! Clear matt dull powder on top of the black ink. I add some color to the butterflies with pastel pencils. The tiny background butterflies are stamped with Archival Ink, just randomly.
I am a big glitter fan, so I decided to ink the edges of my tag with embossing ink and add WOW! Turkish Nights Embossing Glitter. I add some sewing to the border for more interest.
The title is cut wit…

Calm

Hi Everyone

This month at WOW HQ is anything goes, so I have taken inspiration from a fellow artist Lea DeCosta www.careandfeedingofartists.com and used her 'Serenity' words.

The words are 'Sometimes I forget that it is not what I put on paper that matters most, it is the 'putting' itself, the act of writing something down - making a mark.  The peaceful feeling I get from letting something go'

I started by taking the flower and meadow stamps from 'Make a wish' and 'ME Collage' and stamping onto white card stock with Versamark and heat set with clear embossing powder.  I then gently went over the images with distress inks.  The second layer is made of spray inks and placed on top while wet is sea salt.  This is left overnight  to dry and to cause the pattern on the card stock.  The third layer is alcohol inks onto glossy card stock then stamped with Versamark and heat set with ebony embossing powder.  The scroll at the top of the card is heat set …

Winter sparkle & shine:

Flocks and Foil

Hi EveryoneSue here, This month over at WOW HQ is 'Memories'  I haven't used a photograph this time, but some of the fab WOW stamps and a new template I purchased. from Paperbabe Stamps.  This is a template from which you can make a face and different hair styles  and stamps for the lips, eyes and facial expressions.  My inspiration was thinking of my daughter.  (soppy aren't I!).  I firstly sprayed a background with Dylusion spray inks and once dry took some plastic stencils (Tim Holtz) and sponged Versamark through these.  I then sprinkled Bright White Embossing Power over the Versamarkand heat set.  I have used two of my favorite WOW products flock and foils.  These products are less well known than the powders but equally fun to experiment with.  One of the techniques is to use self adhesive covering (one sided sticky back plastic - clear), and a metal stencil.  I have tried using double sided sheets but they are too sticky for the flock and foil and are a mess trying…

Create with WOW: my wall canvas art

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my first post in 2015!
This is Irit here and I just want to wish you all a very Happy New Year!

This is a month of home deco/OOP projects  and I made a steampunk canvas with a word I picked for 2015: Create.
So now let's see the project.
This is a kind of " steampunk art" made over canvas with a lot of mediums and a lot of WOW! EMBOSSING POWDERS.

I used masks with texture paste and then added a mix of embossing powders over the wet steampunk shapes. The mix ofBlackEbony regular powder,Black Glint and Blue Glitz made this effect over the masked images.
The chipboard piece was covered with Metallic Copperpowder and then totally embedded into clear embossing powder with a drop of brown re-inker to get this clear glass look.
Each metal and chipboard shape was also covered with Clear  Gloss embossing powder  for the glossy look, but mostly the anti dust issue as we are talking about on the wall project.
Here and there the small po…

This is Irit here and this is my project made for the hop: Follow your dreams Mixed Media art piece.

Look at this texture made with layers of paints, dies, glues and powders:

One Stamp.. Two Ways

Hi! It's Sandie here and it's my turn to share some DT inspiration with you. Our theme this month is One Stamp - Different Looks
I made 2 cards using one of the butterfly stamps from the With Love clear stamp set.
On the first card I used Clear Gloss powder on white card and sponged the background with Victorian Velvet distress ink.  Tip: Rub over the butterflies with a damp cloth to remove any ink residue.  I matted it onto white card and used 3D foam to adhere it to the card base.  I stamped the sentiment with Archival black ink and distressed the edges with the Victorian Velvet.  Finally, I added some liquid pearls randomly to the card front.
For my second card I used the butterfly as a focal image.  I stamped it out onto smooth card and coloured it, to match my papers, using copic markers.  Purples - V000, V02, V04 Green - YG21, YG23, YG25 I cut  the image out with Lacy Circles nestabilities, adhered it to the card with 3D foam and added some liquid pearl around the cir…

Making wood grain texture over wood with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here today and this is my take of our Wood monthly challenge.
Actually I worked over wooden surface, but then I made my own wood grain texture using our fantastic WOW! Embossing powders and the result is quite interesting.
Here is my finished project: wooden wall deco that  was made with chipboards and masks only and tons of WOW! products.

This medium size wooden kitchen board was flat and with no texture, so I made  it with a wood grain stencil and textured paste. I added   Paprika, Nutmeg and Honey powders over wet textured paste and heat embossed them. Then I misted with a few Lindy's Stamp Gang brown and  golden mists and sprinkled some more embossing powders over it. As the last step I  used clear embossing ink over the raised areas and added some more powders to get this wood grain look of the background.
The chipboard shapes were painted with Gelatos and heat embossed with clear embossing powder (some of them) ; some of them were heat e…
