She's All That

Hi, everybody! I hope your week is off to a great start. I have a cute birthday card for you today. The good thing about this card is that it is designed to work just as well for a male as for a female. In my opinion, it's always good to have a few unisex cards on hand for those last minute occasions. I used WOW Cable Car Red and Earthtone Blueberry, both from the Suzy West Collection of Embossing Powders. I used the red around the outer edges of the yellow background paper as well as the checked pattern on the banner. The Blueberry was used on the sentiment and I outlined it in white gel pen to make it look hand painted, sort of like graffiti, and also to make it show up really well. The stamp I used for the sentiment is from the WOW Stamp set called "Everyday Sentiments" and for the checks on the banner was from "Funky Border Strips".

I wasn't sure I was going to be crazy about the primary color scheme but after I finished it, I decided that I really like …

No Tricks, Just treats on this page!

Hello There! Today we have four girls from the Wow Glitter Girls team to show you some treats!   No tricks on this page, except for some fun new ones you could try on your own projects!   Today we have a little of everything, so lets take a peek at what is here! First off, we have Jenifer Cowles. The inspiration for this layout was the beautiful shimmery Bodacious Blue embossing powder.  It happened to match her daughter’s shirt so she used it as the theme for her layout. "I used the Bodacious Blue, Neutral Ultra Shimmer and Opaque Bright white embossing powders. The Stamps I used were the Funky Border Strips and the Make a Wish stamp."
We love how interesting it is too stamp on the feather, and  love the dandelion image from the Make a Wish set!  It goes together great!

Now, Look at this beauty that Jen Matott has created!   WOWSERS!!! Looks as though Jen did a few different things to create this stunning effect. "I used Helmar's Gemstone Glue with a foam applicator through a…

Tulip Fairy Thank You Card

Hello from hot and humid Texas!! Anne here with a thank you card featuring an adorable fairy by one of my favorite illustrators, Phee McFaddell, that I colored with Copics, and using lots of WOW Embossing Powder.  At 6" x 8", this one is a bit larger than the 6" square and 5" x 7" cards I normally make.  I did this for a couple of reasons. First I wanted plenty of the patterned paper to show and also because I wanted to use both a dry and a wet embossing technique on the oval behind the fairy and I needed quite a bit of that pattern to be visible as well.

The first thing I did was to dry emboss a piece of white cardstock using a Cuttlebug folder and inking the side on which the pattern is debossed with pink chalk ink.  The pink ink was transferred from the folder to the paper in the process.  Then I rubbed across the raised pattern with my Versamark Embossing pad, being careful not to press too hard so as to prevent the embossing powder from sticking to the de…

Fairy Friends

Hello, everyone! Anne with 6 Girls and a Smoking Gun here with a card to share with you all. This month, our DT leader, Jen Deal, challenged us to use fabric (which she was sweet enough to provide to us) on our projects. This was indeed a challenge for me as I had never used anything more than bits of ribbon and lace in the way of fabrics on my cards.

I already had this adorable fairy digi colored and was waiting for the right opportunity to put it on a card when the fabric swatches arrived in my mailbox and there, among those bits and scraps was this cute orange, gold and green floral stripe piece, the gold batik strip and the bright orange lace! All of it coordinated perfectly with the brightly capped mushrooms and I knew immediately what I would do.

If you enlarge the photos, you'll see that the fairy is talking to a little worm coming out of his hole. I apologize but I didn't notice when I snapped the pictures that he's a little hard to see because the leafy vine is almo…

Pretty In Pink and Grey - an Old-Fashioned Springtime

Hi, everybody! Anne here with a sweet card to celebrate the first day of Spring and the wonder of WOW Embossing Powders.  For this little project, I used Suzy West's Skyline Grey Puff powder for the first time and I have to tell you that I love how it looks on my card.  I used it with the WOW "Flowers" background stamp to create the patterned background. It is a very dark shad of grey and adds a little bit of dimension to the stamped pattern.

The adorable image is a digi stamp by one of my favorite artists, Krista Smith, of Saturated Canary.  Isn't the toy zeppelin cute? In addition to the Slyline Grey, I used Suzy West's Earthtone Olive and Metallic Gold Rich Pale Regular Wow powders.
Please visit my blog to see more photos and details about my project.  Your comments are both welcome and appreciated.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope I have inspired you to start working on your own Springtime projects.  Until next time... Happy crafting!
