Christ the Lord is Born - Raluca Vezeteu

Hi everyone and welcome back to our creative WOW space!  Raluca here and I'm so excited to share with you my new CAS card showcasing another sparkling Christmas card.

For my card I played with the fabulous WS167 Unicorn Magic glitter embossing powder, along with these WOW must have tools WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad, WOW! Dual Speed Heat Tool - Euro and WOW! Premium Embossing Craft Mat.

I started my card by preparing a ombre watercolor background using some cheap watercolors. After the panel dried, I added white splatters all over it for a more wintery feel. Although I adore to create cute Christmas cards with adorable critters, Santa and kids, I also love to create cards that show what Christmas really means for me! And the stamp that I used today does exactly this.

I trimmed a large strip from vellum paper and I stamped the beautiful Nativity Bookmark Stamp Set from A Jillian Vance Designs using the WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad, I added the gorgeous and spa…

Watercolor Floral Scene with Jenny Colacicco - VIDEO

Hi Folks, Jenny here! What's your favorite WOW! embossing powder?  Mine changes all the time, but I have a few that I go back to time and again.  One of those is Metallic Brass.   It's a gorgeous warm goldy color, and I love to use it when I watercolor.

I created a video showing you how I made this card.  You can check it out over on the WOW! YouTube channel here:

I used the gorgeous WOW! Beautiful stampset  - this is super versatile - you can use the main focal image, or you can use the tiny stamps that come with it, or use both together like I've done here.  I heat embossed in between each stamping so I could see the scene I was building - I went for a loose scattered look to match the loose watercoloring.
I also did a little bit of sprinklbossing by lightly sprinkling some of the embossing powder in the spaces on my card and heating from behind so that it didn't blow off.  I knew I was going to add some colored paint splatters at the end so thought this would go …

Using Backgrounds on Die Cuts with Jenny

The Creative Team are having a fun month showcasing our favorite WOW! Stamps.  Today I'm using the Tropical background stamp.  It's a fun floral design, great for backgrounds and techniques.

Today I'll be showing you how to make a fun background using emboss resist and then die-cutting it to create two cards for the price of one.

To create my card, I first embossed the Tropical stamp onto some hot press watercolor cardstock.  I like to use hotpress as it's smooth and great for gettting a good impression.  I embossed using one of my favorite embossing powders - Metallic Platinum Sparkle.  I used my MISTI and left the stamp in place.  I then re-stamped and heat embossed in Super Fine Clear Gloss embossing powder.

On a craft mat, I smushed a few Distress Inks and spritzed with water - I used Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Peacock Feathers.   I then dunked my embossed piece into the Distress inks and dried with my heat tool on setting one.  I re-dunked and dried aga…

Painting with WOW! Embossing Glitter with Jenny

Hi Everyone!

It' Jenny here and today I'm going to show you a couple of fun techniques to combine your gorgeous WOW! embossing glitters with watercolor, including a superfun way to paint with embossing ink!

I also have a video up on the WOW! Embossing Channel on YouTube showing you exactly how I created these cards.

I first created two watercolor blended panels to act as the backdrop for my embossing glitter.  I used hotpress watercolor cardstock adhered to a board, and then used clear water first to wet the panels.  I smushed some Distress Inks onto a craft mat and then dipped a wide flat paintbrush into water and then into each of the inks.  The panel on the left uses Pumice Stone, Iced Spruce and Stormy Sky, and the right hand side panel uses Squeezed Lemonade and Picked Raspberry.  On each panel I used my awesome WOW! Dual Heat Tool on setting one to dry the panels in between layers.  (I did two layers of each color).

For the pink and yellow panel, before it dried, I spr…

Superfast Watercolor Emboss Resist Three Ways with Jenny

Hi Everyone!

It's Jenny here, and today I'm sharing three cards with you that use one of my favorite techniques - emboss resist, with watercolor.  The added 'bonus' on these three cards is that the background is super quick and easy.  You embellish them as much or as little as you like (or depending on how much time you have!) and I have a few ideas here to inspire you.

There's a video too which you can find here, or over on the WOW! Embossing channel.

All three of my cards feature the WOW! Secret Garden stamp set designed by Marion Emberson - I love this stamp, it's got super pretty florals that are great for coloring or these techniques.

For my first card, I first stamped Secret Garden onto Distress watercolor cardstock with WOW! embossing ink.   I then heat embossed it with WOW! White Pearl embossing powder (LOVE).

I watercolored the panel (which I adhered to a board with tape) with my Altenew Pan watercolors, painting clear water over the panel first, then…

Thanks Card with Dana

Happy Monday, everyone!

It's Dana here with my last *Foils* monthly inspiration. If you haven't joined our Facebook Monthly Challenge, click HERE :)

For today's card, I started by stamping cactus images from Studio Katia Cactus Hugs Stamp Set onto watercolor paper. I watercolored them and cut them out using coordinating dies.

I took A2 sized watercolor paper and ink blended it with distress oxide inks for background. I used Fossilized Amber, Worn Lipstick and Cracked Pistachio colors. I then spritzed clean water using mini mister and let it dried.

Next, I die cut cover panel and sentiment from white card stock using Studio Katia Grid Cover and Sweet Latte Coordinating Dies.

Especially for the 'thanks', I added double sided tape on white card stock before cut it out. After I peeled off protective sheet, I took a WOW! Bright Gold Fab Foil (UKUSA) and rubbed it with my finger.

I mounted every elements where I wanted them using foam adhesive and glue. To finish off, I…
