Bold Butterflies with Gemma

Today I’m sharing a card using this month’s theme of Foils. I used double sided adhesive to add Bright Gold Fab Foil to some pretty die cut butterflies.

I began by adding some Stick-It double sided adhesive sheet to a piece of white card. From this, I die cut two of the smaller butterfly from the Pretty Pink Posh Bold Butterflies die set, making sure to have the adhesive on the top layer.
I removed the adhesive backing from the butterflies, then placed the Bright Gold Fab Foil over the top. I burnished with my finger, then removed the foil sheet. The foil adheres well to the adhesive sheet. Any areas that are missed, just go back with the fab foil sheet and add more.

Next, I worked on the background. I die cut a rectangle using the Heffy Doodle metric stitched rectangles set. I blended on distress oxide inks in Weathered Wood, Evergreen Bough, and Peacock Feathers.
I flicked the panel with a mix of gold perfect pearls and water, to give more interest to the background. Then I put it as…

My First Blog Post And A Textured Thank You.

Oh my goodness this is my first blog post as a member of the WOW team and I have to say I'm absolutely thrilled to be here. It's very nerve-wracking to be delivering my first official post but at the same time I'm so very excited.
Let me introduce myself, I'm Jaine and I'm hoping to help inspire you with my own way of creating and my own style.
One thing I absolutely love in my work is texture. The inspiration for the background to this card  came when I was looking for a gift in a local flower shop and spotted a gorgeous embossed metal box with copper foiling over the embossing. The texture and shiny copper was gorgeous. It was quite distressed and not totally perfect which I also found beautiful. I held the image in my mind until I could try out something similar at home.

For the background to my card base I used texture paste and a stencil to create the raised design. Once that was dry I painted it over with two colours of acrylic paint blending them into one …

FOILING CARD INSPIRATION

Hello dear friends! Martha Lucia here to share with you an inspirational card that I made using a foiling technique for the main images and some embossing details to complement my design. Take a look at my card:

Creating this card was a simple process: 1. Cut the card base using Melon Mambo card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2". 2. Cut a second layer using a piece of designer paper in a clear tone. I used one in beige color. The size is 4"x5-1/4".  3. Take some colors of PowderPuff Chalk Ink or any other ink and create some distress over the designer paper.

4. Take a Secret Garden Stamp and ink this with WOW Embossing Pad. Stamp this over the decorated paper created in step before and cover it with WOW Clear Gloss Super Fine Embossing Powder.

5. Melt the powder with the WOW Heat Tool and leave this piece aside for now.

6. Cut a medium heart using very vanilla card stock and a framelit. Again, ink the Secret Garden Stamp with WOW Embossing Pa…
