Tone-on-Tone-on-Tone!

Hi there! Emily Midgett back with you today for my second guest post for WOW! Embossing! Today, I have a pretty, feminine card for you using lots of pretty peachy-pink and even some sparkles, so let's get started with the details!

I began by heat embossing that absolutely gorgeous Rebecca Lace background from Simon Says Stamp using WOW's Soft Mango embossing powder on some beautiful Peony (SSS|EH) card stock. The Peony card stock is a lovely shade of soft pink, and the Soft Mango is just a tad darker shade of coral, which makes for a very pretty tone-on-tone combination! This stamp is also super detailed, and the WOW embossing powder picked up every single detail just beautifully.

I wanted a sparkly greeting, so I created some custom glitter card stock using the WOW Bridal Sparkles. I began by adding some 1" Scor Tape (a heavy duty tape adhesive) to some card stock, then die cut the lovely "smile" (SSS|EH) from The Stamp Market from this adhesive card stock…

Guest Designer .....Michelle Short

We are super excited that Michelle has another creation to showcase on our blog. Please make her feel welcome and hope you enjoy her card creation as much as we do. Hello there, Michelle here and I am delighted to share another card here on the WOW Embossing Powder blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share that uses the beautiful Oyster Glintz Embossing Powder.
To start my card off, I took a panel of watercolour paper and masked off the edges to leave a smaller rectangle open in the middle. I took Distress Inks in Candied Apple, Festive Berries and Worn Lipstick and blended these on to the panel with an ink blending tool. I spritzed the piece with Iridescent Spray, removed the masking tape and set aside to dry.
I took the poinsettia image from the Altenew Festive Poinsettia stamp set and stamped this with WOW Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink on to a piece of vellum. I applied WOW Oyster Glintz Embossing Powder and heat set. The Oyster powder is a pretty shimmering cream col…

Guest Designer - Ardyth Percy-Robb

Please welcome our August guest designer ........... I started cardmaking in 2006, at a Stampin' Up! Party and have never looked back. I started my blog, MASKerade in 2012 to share my work and become part of this amazing community! I live in Toronto, Canada, with my husband and 2 teenaged children. In 2017, I started making quick tutorial videos which are on my YouTube channel. I love clean, graphic design with bold colours and lots of white space. My favourite cards are the ones where stamps are used in unexpected ways to create something fun!  I'm thrilled to be a Creative Guest this month!
Hello! It's Ardyth here from MASKerade and I'm thrilled to be a Creative Guest for the month of August! Heat embossing is a magical part of cardmaking - remember how amazed you were when you first saw the powder melt and transform? I certainly do, and 12 years later, I still get that feeling every time I pull out my heat gun!
Today I used a rainbow of embossing glitters and a simple…

Guest Designer : Amy Tsuruta

Hello!  It's Amy again from Tsuruta Designs.  So thrilled to be sharing a couple projects that combine the goodness of WOW! Embossing Powder and Pretty Pink Posh!

All my stamped images are on watercolor paper so I went with the Primary Ebony Regular Embossing Powder.  It really makes the images pop with the Zig on Zig coloring.  Here's my first project that features Pretty Pink Posh's Happy Mail and Flourishing Fuchsias stamp sets.  I also included their Stitched Pieces die.

LOVE the WOW! Embossing Pad it inks up on the first try for all of the images, super clean and crisp.

Although I managed to heat emboss a bunch of the images for this design, I wanted to also keep more of the white from the center panel visible.

My second card is a bit busier than my first design.  Similar to my card above, all the images have been heat embossed with the Primary Ebony Regular Embossing Powder.  I colored them with watercolor pens and set them aside.

I watercolored the fun yellow stripes on …

Guest Designer Amy Tsuruta

Hi, it's Amy again from Tsuruta Designs!  I decided to share a project that uses some basic embossing colors.  What are your go-to colors?  Mine are white + black.  Here's a bit of my before prep work:

I picked out some images that have fine details to really show how wonderful the WOW Embossing Powders capture the details.

For those that follow me might know that I'm a coffee-a-holic.  Did you know that owls were one of my first loves?  I use to collect all things owls so when I saw these cute owl images, I couldn't resist picking up the whole collection.  Their eyes are so expressive, aren't they?

One of my go-to sentiment techniques is to heat emboss them on black cardstock with white embossing powder.   The Opaque Bright White by WOW is perfect.
Here's how I was inspired by those cute coffee loving owls:

The Primary Ebony Embossing Powder really makes those guys pop!  See how the sentiment looks on the black cardstock?  I used a cross stitched circle die to cut …
