FLY - Mixed Media Artist Trading Card

Hi everyone!
Susanne writing today and I like to share this mixed media Artist Trading Card (ATC). I used the lovely "Mariposa" stamp set together with the "Funky Border Strips". I have a step by step tutorial for you:

1. Take a piece of card board and remove some of the front surface. That works easy when you wet it at first. Prime it with gesso and emboss the group of butterflies with Opaque Bright White powder.

2. Use Twinkling H2Os or other shimmering watercolors to color the background. The embossing resists the watercolor and the butterflies pop.

 3. While your card dries you'll have time to create the embellishments. I picked two of the middle sized butterflies and embossed them with Metallic Gold Rich Powder. After that I colored each butterfly with Distress Inks.

 4. Add more interest to the background with the script stamp using a permanent black ink.

 5. Use the WOW! Embossing Pen to add Iced Silver Powder into some of the creases. The…

Flower Card by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends!

Susanne here and this is my debut at the WOW! Embossing Powder Blog today. I am very excited and proud that I am part of this talented team! I like to share this colourful flower card. I started the card with a watercolour background. Therefor I used my inktense blocks and added lots of gold dots on top using the Gold Rich Powder together with the Funky Border Strip clear stamps. I picked the round dots, stamped them with clear embossing ink side by side and added the powder. To give it a more random look I wiped away some of the powder with a brush, before I heat set it. I smeared the edges of the background layer with white acrylic paint.

Let's talk about the embellishments: I used different die cuts that go under my paper flowers.

The dies to create these 3d paper flowers come from My Favourite Things and Marianne Design. Some are layered ones, some are roll up flowers. To give them more interest I added Heart Throb Embossing Glitter to their edges. …

Hooray for Summer!...

Hello there!

I missed you all last month!  Please accept my apologies for my absence.

This month's theme is 'Summer' and I don't know about you, but I'm sure glad it's finally arrived!  I love the sunshine and the happiness it seems to invoke in everyone.

My project for this month is, unsurprisingly, a card!  It's also that time of year when Father's Day is fast approaching so I took this opportunity to get one of the cards I need to have made.

When I think Summer, I think beach, I think blue skies and crystal blue sea so I decided to go with it. Out came the Distress Inks and I set about creating a background, which hopefully is reminiscent of a beach scene with light clouds in the sky just above the horizon of a clear blue sea...yes, I do need a holiday!!
I then stamped the wide 'dotty' border from Funky Border Strips in VersaMark ink and lightly sprinkled Primary Lagoon embossing powder over it, ensuring not to cover the pattern completely.  To ge…

Memories

Hi! It's Sandie here and today I am sharing my take on this month's theme, which is  Memories I created a scrapbook layout using various stamps, powders and other WOW! Embossing products
The papers I'm using are 12th Teacup and Overused Tablecloth, from 7 Dots Studios's Domestic Goddess collection.

On the background papers I stamped the Canvas with London Fog ink, then Funky Border Strips with Victorian Velvet distress inks. I used the Alpha Set to add the year the layout.

For the flowers I used Foil Melt-It cases and combined some Melt-It powder with embossing powders. To melt the powders together I heated from underneath the foil case using the WOW! Heat Tool

I used Apple RedUltra High, Red Glitz Embossing Glitter and Gold Satin Pearl to emboss the wooden embellishments on the layout.

Quick and Easy Card

Hello everyone, hope it's a great Monday for everyone!  Have you ever needed a quick card for just a "hello", or "feel better" or "just because", but didn't have a lot of time? Well, this little card can be done in a jiffy and you can use any colors or sentiments that you want. And you can also use your own handwriting for the reason for the sentiment!!!

All you need is white cardstock, a couple of blooms, and miscellaneous stamps! This is just a 5x7 card with the five little banners. I used a stamp for the first part of the sentiment, then used my own "hello". So you can customize your greeting! I used markers for some "faux stitching" and that was it! Easy! This is just one that you can do really quickly. You could use colored cardstock for a different look, and you could mix your colors on your banners, lots of combinations!!!

Here are the supplies that I used:

A yummy Christmas package with WOW!

Hello!  Jen Roach here and today I have a little Christmas package to share with you.  During the holidays I give a fair amount of gift cards and I always like to come up with a pretty package to put them in.

For this package I stamped all over a white wedding treat bag with the Funky Borders stamps set and then created a little collage with some scraps of paper, ribbon and a gingerbread man.  To make my gingerbread man appear like a "real" cookie, I heat embossed it with some of the WOW! Earthtone Nutmeg embossing powder.  It really adds a lot of texture and gives him the appearance of being a real cookie.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

CHALLENGE- Embossing on Fabric

Hi Jenifer here with you today to present our next challenge.  Did you know you could emboss on fabric?  Well you can, and just imagine all the possibilities :) I have embossed on some plain muslin and made these cute gift tags for Christmas. Here is a close up of the Metallic Platinum Sparkle embossing glitter on white muslin.  You emboss on fabric the same way you would on paper.
Here is a close up of the bright white embossing powder. These "Tags"  they are super easy to make all you need is 2 pieces of fabric and a piece of felt sandwiched in the middle and sew around all the edges.  Embellish as desired.  I plan to use these on some layouts after they come off the packages.

I hope this has inspired you to create some of your own custom embellishments. I hope you play along.

Happy Holidays!

Hello!!  Jen Roach here and today I'm sharing a Happy Holidays card I created using an embossed background and some embossed die cuts.  Adding embossing powders to your die cuts is a way to change them up and add some extra WOW!

First I created the stamped background using the new Funky Borders set and some pastel blue embossing powder.  Then I embossed some die cut snowflakes with some clear and white powders.  I was going for a rustic look so I only added one layer of powder to let the background kraft paper show through a bit.

Here's a close up to show the embossing details on the snowflakes.  As you can see, the clear embossing powder give some really nice shine and texture to the die cuts.

Hope you enjoyed my holiday card today....thanks for stopping by!  Supplies: WOW! Stamps: Funky Border Strips (polka dot background) from WOW! WOW! Embossing Powders: WM03 Pastel Blue, WL01 Opaque Bright White, WA01 Clear Gloss Papers: Bazzill kraft cardstock, Recollections patterned paper Ink…

Hi Wow embossing powder fans,

I hope that your Saturday is off to a great start. Do you have plans on what you are going to do with the extra hour? The Powder Puff girls team are back today and they have lots of inspiration to share with you. Who knows, you might find yourself spending that extra hour embossing after you see these amazing projects.

October challenge - Embossing Pen

Hey there WOW fans -- Tanisha here with a fun challenge for you!!  I want you to whip out your embossing pens and go to town.  If you're like me, then you have a ball with embossing powders and ink and stencils, but often forget about embossing pens.  E. Pens are a terrific way to add little details to embellishments or add definition to your doodles.

I used WOW's embossing pen with opaque bright white powder to highlight my freestyled scalloped border seen here.

I used the embossing pen to trace chipboard stars onto the background and then embossed with bright opaque white powder.
Here, I added a little sparkle to the camera embellishment with Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter.   I simply used the embossing pen to color the areas that I wanted to emboss.

Now, it's your turn to show us what you can do with WOW Embossing Powders and an embossing pen.    Simply create a project and add the link to your project in the comments section.  One lucky challenge participant wil…
