Antique...CAS-style

Hello!

I hope you're all enjoying the theme of 'Antique' this month - we've had some fabulous projects from the Design Team so far and there are many more inspiring projects to come, so keep your eyes peeled!

As a CAS girl, antique isn't usually the style I gravitate towards but I sure enjoyed the challenge!

Here is the card I made...

I went with patterns and a neutral/sepia based colour palette to give the impression of age because that's what the word 'Antique' implies to me.

I started by heat embossing some ivory hammered card using the Vintage Wallpaper stamp and Metallic Gold Rich Pale.  This colour is great because it's not quite as bright as the Metallic Gold Rich, but is still very gold and decadent. Then, I stamped the French Music background stamp on some buff card using Versamark ink and Primary Bark embossing powder.  I used some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add to the aged effect.  I love these background stamps - they're so pretty and …

Broken Glass technique tutorial

Hello, my dear crafting friends! Irit is here today with my Broken Glass technical tutorial.
All you need to make this broken glass look is a big background stamp , clear embossing ink and a lot of Clear embossing powders.
Step 1:
Pick your WOW Embossing Powders stamp. I picked Suzy West  French Music Background stamp.
Stamp a background stamp with permanent ink. I used black Memento, but any permanent ink will do the job. Please, not any kind of pigmented ink as it will be a mess after the first heat embossing step, unless you want to heat the stamped background a lot before the next step.

Step 2:
Cover the entire  stamped piece with  Clear embossing ink  and add a thick layer of  Clear Gloss Ultra High  embossing powder. Heat it and add 2-3 more layers of the same powder.  Cool it and add more clear ink all over. Now add a thick layer of  Clear Gloss Super  Fine embossing powder and heat it again. Make it 2-3 more times with the fine powder. The fine powder should cover  some spaces tha…

Christmas Tag by Jamie Cripps

Good Afternoon!  Jamie here with you today with a quick Christmas Tag!

I stamped my background cardstock with the French Music Stamp Set with Ice Spruce Distress ink and then blended in Spun Sugar.  I tore the edge and then dipped it in Bundled Sage Distress ink then stamped the tree from the Deck the Hall Stamp set with black ink.
Once I had the background set, I used the WOW embossing pen  to color the white areas of the star.

I covered the star with Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing  Powder and poured the unused powder back into the container.

Then I used a heat gun to set the powder.

The star now has an amazing sparkle!

Play Time!

Hi Bloggers, Rachel here again with my creation for this month's blog challenge.
We had the brief to use Flocks this month. Now I have to confess that flocks are not my strong point so I have tried to incorporate them into something that is 'my kind of thing.'

I have made this wall hanging - I have made several of these before in different sizes and using different themes and for me they are great to try out lots of techniques in 'bite size' pieces.

For this hanging I have used: Bonding Powder White & Violet Flock Metalline Embossing Powder - Violet Metallic Silver Embossing Powder Bright White Embossing Powder Metallic Silver Ultra High EP Stamps - French Music & Childs Play Clear Stamp Set
I hope you find inspiration in this months projects by our fabulous design team and if you would like to see how I made this please follow the link below.

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life - Pablo Picasso

Hi everyone!

My name is Birgit Koopsen, I'm from the Netherlands and I'm a WOW! educator/US WOW! Design Team member.
I am  happy to be guest blogging here today and I would like to show you that WOW! embossing powders are perfect to use in mixed-media projects.
The project I'm sharing with you was created using WOW! embossing powders & stamps, Fab Foil and bonding powder.

The base for this project was a plain piece of wood from the DIY-store, measuring 18.5 x 29.5 x 1.8cm.
I first randomly stamped on the wood using stamp set 11 - French Music.
Then I spray painted the wood with a variety of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist colors.
It's important the whole piece is completely dry before you move on.
I made my own masks punching out circles in 3 sizes from pieces of cardstock and used the negatives.
I created circles on the background filling the masks with Versamark using a piece of blending foam, then sprinkled the circles with bonding powder and heated them. I placed …

Simply Amazing Cameo with a Burst of French Music

Hi everyone! It's Sandie here again and today I would love to share a card I created with the fantastic new stamp sets now available in the WOW! Embossing store....
... but first I must wish you all a very happy {Lá le Pádraig} ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!
In line with this month's DT theme and colour palette I have used Pastel Purple embossing powder to make my Mother's Day card.

For the background, the stamp set I used was French Music. I trimmed it down and matted it onto some lilac cardstock. The frame and cameo are from  Simply Amazing. - I hand cut around the frame, matted it onto lilac cardstock and handcut around that. Then I mounted the cameo onto a white doily using 3D foam dots and adhered the doily down on to the French Music background.

To embellish I've added some purple ribbon and coordinating flowers, finishing with 5mm self-adhesive flat backed pearls on the ribbon.

We have an easy challenge for you this month, you don't even have to create anything! Ju…
