Fall Gift Bag

Hi, it's Gini here to share a fun fall project with you. I recieved this cute burlap bag earlier in the week, and knew that it would be so fun to alter it as the perfect little gift bag. I cut metal leaves using Cheery Lynn Designs Dimensional Large Leaves. I love the deep embossed patterns. I pulled out some of my favorite fall colors from Wow Embossing Powders and inked the leaves with Versamark. When you heat emboss the metal, it heats up fast - so make sure to hold it with tweezers or lay them on a heat resistant mat. The metal tends to shine through the embossing powder and makes a gorgeous charm for your bag. Embossed Butterflies on an art journal page by DT member Birgit Koopsen

Use your dies and Wow! Embossing Powders to create your own unique and
awesome embellishments.
Simply cut out the desired shape, cover it with Versmark and add several
colors of embossing powder next to each other. There is no need to heat the
first color before adding another color, just make sure to tap off the
excess powder in between 2 colors. Then heat emboss. After that put a piece
of punc…

Scor-Tape and Embossing Powders

Hi, it's Gini and I have a rather girly card to share with you today. Sometimes, it can be a little scary, figuring out how to use patterned papers with detailed scenes or graphics, but you just have to jump in and not worry too much about covering over some of the gorgeous designs. Although it is very layered, I still kept a light and airy feeling by using transparencies, vellum and sheer ribbon for my layers. Here is a close-up, where you can see the layers a little better.

I used the new Spellbinders Marvelous Squares, and cut two layers from WorldWin Papers vellum. Next, I cut a layer using Scor-tape, and then attached one side of the sticky to my vellum, and then removed the backing paper and sprinkled it with Wow Embossing Powder (Opaque Bright White Regular). I heat set the powder, and it gives a nice distressed appearance, as the adhesive heats up, and crackles a bit. I assembled my card, and added the cardstock lady from Pink Paislee's Vintage Vogue collection, a …

Wishing Well

I am so blessed to have the best sister in the world! I found this picture of us sitting on a Wishing Well, when we were little, and decided it was time to be scrapped! I added the Houndstooth embossing to my doily using a Crafter's Workshop Stencil. I sprinkled Wow Suzy West Earthtone Paprika over most of the circle, and finished up the rest with the Earthtone Honey. Then I added just a little Sierra Sunrise across the whole thing to give it a little glimmer. I made a dimensional Wishing Well to embellish my page. I stamped the bricks and embossed them with Wow Opaque Bright White. I further embellished it with die cut flowers and vines. The bottom of the well is open to accomodate an envelope, that stores my hidden journaling. Wow! What a Cute Gift!

Recently, I saw the cutest altered mason jars on Pinterest. Someone had glued real doilys on the outside of them. This got me thinking of a way to create something similar, without having the bulk of a real doily.

So, I die cut a doily using my Cheery Lynn Nautical Doily die and adhesive vinyl. I stuck this to my jar, to use as a mask. Next, I took my Versamark pad, and inked over the doily. I sprinkled Wow Opaque Bright White Embossing Powder liberally over this, and heat set it.
Now, there are a couple of things to be aware of when trying this technique...First - the glass will get very hot. So make sure, you have it sitting on a surface - don't try to hold it. Also, areas if the vinyl will curl up. Don't worry, your embossing powder will stay stay exactly where you want it to.
After all of the embossing powder is melted, just peel off the stencil, and decorate with ribbons and flowers.
