One Stamp 3 Ways Mini Canvas Topper Trio

Morning everyone! It's Fran here with you today and I hope you are all in fine fettle.

I hope you are all in fine fettle. Today's offering for you today is once again in miniture form - yes I'm addicted teeny tiny pixie projects!

These are a set of mini canvases which I've had in my stash for a good long while which I decided to use as card toppers. In keeping with this month's blog feature I had used one stamp three ways, with my chosen one coming from the Pick 'n Mix set.
Do you recognise which one it is?  For the first topper I prepared the background with gesso and paint, then stamped the circular stamped randomly with black ink. I added die cut chipboard on top to create depth and filled the recesses in with embossing powder (Mandarin, Black Ebony and Clear Gloss), using glass beads for texture. I have a bit of a thing for skulls and adore this wooden cut from Alter This which I pimped up with gesso, fine liner pens and more micro beads.

Define & Shine Canvas

Hello everyone,
It's mixed media time! canvas shows how great embossing powders can look combined with stencils to enrich the backgrounds of your project. I do love creating canvases mixing textures and colours so really enjoyed combining foils, embossing powders with my embellishments.
For the background I colour washed the canvas with water colour inks then added details with stencils and powders (Pearl Gold, White Peal, Rich Gold Ultra High). Adding layers of foiling details gave an extra pop and shine to the canvas.
I have used the feathers silicone mould with Melt-It powder to create these two beautiful embellishments which I have used nestled into the leaves and flowers.

Hopefully I have given you some inspiration on different ways to use your powders aside from stamping!

Birthday Balloons

I really liked the sketches for this months theme, I decided to use the second one as soon as I saw it. It reminded me of Sian's card that I was inspired by for my February post. At first I wanted to make something similar because I really loved the design but then I got another idea. Instead of the rectangles I wanted to use the placement of the elements and text as my inspiration. I diecut some balloons and covered them in embossing glitter twice and topped it with a couple of layers of clear embossing powder to make them shiny and thick. I lightly airbrushed some clouds behind the balloons, you can barely see it but up close it shows up a bit better and it made the balloons look as if they belonged there. I finished off with some gold string and gemstones for more bling.  I hope you are inspired to create something from the sketches, I'm looking forward to seeing your creations!

Ultimate Classic Masculine Card

Happy Monday! Nicole here and I am sharing a super simple and neat masculine card. I know lots of card makers have a hard time when it comes to cards for men, so I thought I would share something fun and easy today.
This literally took me about 5 min to create, so you can easily duplicate this. You can also alternate colors to create a set and make it a nice, thank you card gift for everyone.
I started with a white cardstock cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and stamped the Sexi-Hexi Background Stamp Set with Versamark Ink Pad. Then I used the Clear Gloss Regular embossing powder and heat set the stamped area. Since the stamp set is quite big, you want to put the paper on top of the stamp and rub it to get a clear image, rather than stamping it in a regular way.
I wanted to create a metallic look so I took out a silver ink pad and rubbed it all over the paper. I loved how it turned out!! I highly recommend giving this technique a try, this is a great way to maximize your ink pads and it's an ea…

Unrestrained Decadence canvas

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our Decadence month! My new Mixed Media canvas FULL of mediums (gesso, mists, gels, Gelato paints, embossing powders, stencils, stamping) . You name  it- I used it over this page.
But the main point here are those Wycenanka gorgeous chipboards and one TH die . I used totally forgotten unknown  art clip papers here, some industrial mesh and did I already said A LOT OF EMBOSSING POWDERS? I did. Thank you WOW! EMBOSSING POWDERS for those huge jars ofMetallicCopper,  Primary Black  Ebony and Clear Gloss  powder as I really loved to add it all over this canvas.
And some close ups too: the die cut man was partially covered withUltra Thick Ebonypowder for example.
Here some Pastel Blue powder was added over theEbony regular powder for the antique look.
I also sprinkled a lot of clear gloss powder over the wet areas to get this textured look.
Hope  you will take a part in our Decadence challenge this month: you need to enter the project and you …

Mixed-Media Nature Canvas

Hi everyone!

My name is Marsha Valk and I'm happy to be guest blogging here today!

I'm a scrapbooker/crafter from the Netherlands and one of the regular contributors to Scrap365 magazine. You may also have seen some of my cards in Craft Stamper recently.

I love to use stamps and embossing powders in my projects and I can't wait to share with you what I've created with this month's nature theme in mind!

For this small 8x8" canvas I took inspiration from an illustration by Alice Lickens in a Flow magazine publication. (BTW. Flow is by far my favourite Dutch magazine!)
I started with a square of gesso in the middle of the canvas that I applied using a hotel key card. Once that was touch dry, I covered the square part with three colours of yellow/green ink and let the gesso and ink dry thoroughly for a couple of hours.
The two flowers in the background were drawn with a VersaMarker (you can of course use a WOW! Embossing Pen for that!) and embossed with Clear Glos…

Happy Holidays!

Hello!!  Jen Roach here and today I'm sharing a Happy Holidays card I created using an embossed background and some embossed die cuts.  Adding embossing powders to your die cuts is a way to change them up and add some extra WOW!

First I created the stamped background using the new Funky Borders set and some pastel blue embossing powder.  Then I embossed some die cut snowflakes with some clear and white powders.  I was going for a rustic look so I only added one layer of powder to let the background kraft paper show through a bit.

Here's a close up to show the embossing details on the snowflakes.  As you can see, the clear embossing powder give some really nice shine and texture to the die cuts.

Hope you enjoyed my holiday card today....thanks for stopping by!  Supplies: WOW! Stamps: Funky Border Strips (polka dot background) from WOW! WOW! Embossing Powders: WM03 Pastel Blue, WL01 Opaque Bright White, WA01 Clear Gloss Papers: Bazzill kraft cardstock, Recollections patterned paper Ink…

Embossed Butterflies!

I want to share a really easy technique that is one of my favorite things to change up a stamp. It's nothing new, you've probably seen it a thousand times, but this time of year seems to lend itself to using this technique more with the Fall colors and leaves! I decided to use it with butterflies.

Here are the supplies that I used:

Build a Butterfly Stamp Set Flowers background Stamp Neutral Ultra Shimmer powder Clear Gloss powder

First, I took the stamp and inked it up with the three similar colors that I chose. Then I used a darker color and stamped the outline of the butterfly. Let it dry completely. Then cover the image completely with Versamark or other embossing ink and cover with clear powder. Heat with your heat gun. Let cool and cut out with fine tip scissors. I made 3 for this card.

For the background image, I used the Flowers background stamp, I inked it the same way mixing the colors, then instead of using clear, I used the Neutral Ultra Shimmer powder and embossed it.

Something different

Hi there! Birgit here today with something different.
Another example showing that embossing powders are not only a wonderful product for scrapbookers and card makers but also can perfectly be used in all kinds of mixed media projects

I wanted to try something new, a different style. When I started this project I had no idea where it would go, I had no picture in mind. I just began somewhere and was really surprised by the outcome :)

I cut out a shape using a Spellbinders die and used the negative as a template for my "flowers".
I put the template on the basswood canvas (8x16"), filled the open space with Versamark, removed the template and added several colors of embossing powders next to each other. Just tap off each color in between 2 colors and you can go on adding color until all the Versamark is covered and heat it all at once.

After embossing the base colors I put the mask back on top and added stamps (Funky Border Strips) and Punchanella dots and stars to the schapes…

Love canvas

Hi there!
Birgit here today with a little love canvas.

I first covered the canvas with tags, a doily and pieces of book paper. On top I put a thin layer of Gesso leaving some parts of book print uncovered. On those parts I stamped with bubble wrap and Versamark and embossed it with WOW! clear gloss regular. This keeps the book print visible and creates a resist for the Tattered Angels glimmer mist that I sprayed on top.

I layered a piece of Punchenella (Sequin waste) as a mask in the left upper corner and filled a couple of spots with Versamark and then embossed it with WOW! Metallic Silver regular. After spraying the whole canvas with glimmer mist I took a little piece of cardstock, used my crop-a-dile to punch out a couple of little holes and layered it on the canvas. I filled in the holes with Versamark, removed the cardstock mask and embossed the little circles with Suzy West Whirly Pop regular.

A heart cut from book paper was sprayed with glimmer mist. I put a piece of Punchenella o…

Lot of techniques on You!

Hello, my Dear  WOW friends! It's Irit here again  with my  new and multi technical page .
This page was made as my first lo for WOW Embossing powders  for CHA booth and as you can see the whole page was stamped with Suzy WestBrocade WOW background stamp and then heat embossed with WOW Clear Gloss regular powder.

Then it was inked with a mix of Clearsnap chalk inks and the base was done. I also heat embossed the scalloped cardstock with Suzy West Earthtone collectionEarthtone Honey Regular  powder. The tags were Sizzix  die cuts from embossed with the same stamp cardstock, using Suzy West Red Cable Regular , Bay Area Blue Regular  and Earthtone Olive Regular   powders. Then those Epiphany Crafts Round 14 epoxies were made using  the same embossed papers  and I  added Momenta titles. Ok- now for this A2Zchipboard flowers: hand painted with Creative Inspirations Paints and heat embossed with WOW Clear  Gloss Regular powder over the leaves  and Suzy West Earthtone Honey Regular  powde…

I Can See Clearly Now Tutorial....

Sing it with me, "I can see clearly now the rain is gone, it's gonna be a bright, bright, bright sunshiney day"
Well, today it's actually suppose to be raining here in So Cal, but I'm sharing a fun tutorial on using clear embossing powder, so it's pure sunshine here!
Yesterday Tina got this party started with her resist technique. It was the perfect post to start off the week and now I can piggy back on hers by showing you three more fun ways to use clear embossing powder.

Project #1 Hello Friend Treat Bag: Using Clear Embossing Powder and Mist
Let's take a look:
In order to get this look I took a white tag and stamped it with the flower stamp using embossing ink.  I then added clear embossing powder, tapped off the excess and heated the tag from underneath.  Once the tag was embossed, I sprayed it with Studio Calico Plumb Thumb over the tag.  I took a paper towel and patted and rubbed to move the ink around the tag. Since the clear embossing powder resists the …
