Born to Sparkle |Fab Foil with Dana

Happy Saturday, everyone!

It's Dana here and I'd like to share another *Foils* inspiration the theme of this month.

To start off, I stamped WOW! Blossom Stamp Set onto A2 sized white card stock with WOW! Clear Embossing Ink Pad. I then sprinkled WOW! Bonding Powder and heat embossed the image using WOW! Dual Speed Heat Tool.

I then pulled out WOW! Fab Foil Silver, Ice Blue and Teal. As a heat embossed images were dried, I partially heat set them again and rubbed each foils with my fingers.

After foiling, I splattered watercolor paint with clean water here and there. I then trimmed down kraft paper and stamped sentiment from WOW! Born to Sparkle Stamp Set.

To finish off, I foam mounted kraft panels as shown in the picture.
Thank you so much for joining me today. Happy crafting!

Foils, Foils & more Foils

Hi all, Jo here and welcome to a very fun blog post where I went "Foil" crazy as I found playing with them rather addictive. I paired the foils with Catherine Pooler "Faithful Flutterings" as this was a great layering step stampset and ideal for this foiling technique.
I have created a You tube for the above card .

The below card is very similar the the above just changed the location of the butterflies.

The below card I have used Shaded Lilac Distress Ink and Violet Foil. I kept it rather simple as I have used the larger butterfly and I didn't want to take away the focus on the technique.

The below cards I used the Swoop Stencil from Catherine Pooler and the texture paste and glitter combo I have used in a previous post.

I hope you enjoy today's inspiration creations with foiling.

FOILING CARD INSPIRATION

Hello dear friends! Martha Lucia here to share with you an inspirational card that I made using a foiling technique for the main images and some embossing details to complement my design. Take a look at my card:

Creating this card was a simple process: 1. Cut the card base using Melon Mambo card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2". 2. Cut a second layer using a piece of designer paper in a clear tone. I used one in beige color. The size is 4"x5-1/4".  3. Take some colors of PowderPuff Chalk Ink or any other ink and create some distress over the designer paper.

4. Take a Secret Garden Stamp and ink this with WOW Embossing Pad. Stamp this over the decorated paper created in step before and cover it with WOW Clear Gloss Super Fine Embossing Powder.

5. Melt the powder with the WOW Heat Tool and leave this piece aside for now.

6. Cut a medium heart using very vanilla card stock and a framelit. Again, ink the Secret Garden Stamp with WOW Embossing Pa…

Up-cycled Tag Book

Hi Folks, Rachel here with my project for this month's challenge.
I've wanted to make a Tag Book for ages using the cardboard tubes from toilet rolls and this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity.

I stuck one end of each tube together, covered them in papers and then added a strip of  WOW Fab Foil in Pink around the open edge using double sided tape. I added couple of book rings, some ribbon, a title hand written using a WOW Embossing Pen and embossed with Earthtone Olive and a pretty rose using our new Melt It Powder mixed with Pastel Pink E/P and poured into a silicone mould. This completed my pockets for the tags.
The tags were die-cut from old off-cuts of Mountboard and I decided to have a play using just two of our stamp sets, Make a Wish and ME Collage. The same design twice but with totally different looks - all done with Distress Inks and WOW! Embossing Powder.
These little books are great to add to and could be mini scrapbooks, technique books, or whatever takes …

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life - Pablo Picasso

Hi everyone!

My name is Birgit Koopsen, I'm from the Netherlands and I'm a WOW! educator/US WOW! Design Team member.
I am  happy to be guest blogging here today and I would like to show you that WOW! embossing powders are perfect to use in mixed-media projects.
The project I'm sharing with you was created using WOW! embossing powders & stamps, Fab Foil and bonding powder.

The base for this project was a plain piece of wood from the DIY-store, measuring 18.5 x 29.5 x 1.8cm.
I first randomly stamped on the wood using stamp set 11 - French Music.
Then I spray painted the wood with a variety of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist colors.
It's important the whole piece is completely dry before you move on.
I made my own masks punching out circles in 3 sizes from pieces of cardstock and used the negatives.
I created circles on the background filling the masks with Versamark using a piece of blending foam, then sprinkled the circles with bonding powder and heated them. I placed …

Discovering foils

Hello, Doris here from cheappsychology.co.uk. I have had a wonderful time trying out the foils and making them work for me.

On this flower journal I used the bonding powder with WOW stamps to embellish the background of the front cover. The letters are created from carton. I stuck double sided tape on it before die cutting the letters. Then foiled the letters by dabbing parts of the sticky surface on the white foil and then the gold foil.
Then I started thinking about what else these foils might stick to. I had heard somebody say that they stick to laser printed images. My laser printer is dead so I could not test that, but I tried them on acrylic paints and that works astonishingly well. Dry acrylic paint and a bit of free form hard rubbing gives you an instant distressed look. I particular love using the white foil which has a matte finish for this - a great distressing tool! And it is permanent. See the dots on that back page? The are the negative of the dots on the front page. Do…

Foiled Flower Card

Hi Folks, Rachel here with my project for this months challenge.

I decided to make a card this month using a mask, instead of stamps with the foils, to give a different look.

I created my background by spritzing mica mists onto white card. After drying I put my mask on top and inked through with Versamark ink, then removed the mask and covered with WOW! Bonding Powder; it only adheres to the inked areas. and as you put the rest back in the pot a little goes a long way! I set the Bonding Powder slightly by heating with a WOW! Heat Gun and then, using the WOW!Snowy White Fab Foil, I covered the image and ran it through my laminator, (I chose to use the white foil as it has a subtle shine and I didn't want it to have to compete with the mica mist background I'd spritzed).  After matting and layering on complementary card I used thin high tack tape to edge my topper and covered this with WOW! Bright Gold Fab Foil. The tape really grabs the foil and gives a great finish; good for b…

Fun with foils

Hi there,
Nikki again.
This time I have been playing with the WOW range of foils and a mini card (I really am enjoying making lots of mini cards at the moment).....
The background was created using some double sided tape. - Place the double sided tape on the card, peel of the paper and add the foils. The detail in the corner (the 3 little red dots), is done the same way - only this time I used foam dots.
To create the cameo, I stamped the image using clear ink and bonding powder.
When the bonding powder was heat set I added the foil and then reheated the area with a heat gun.
When you take off the foil sheet the image will be foiled.
It's a fun technique and the foils add that element of luxury to your cards.
Give it a go and let us know how you get on.

You will find the items that I used over on the WOW website here...
