Heat Embossed Impression Stamping with Jenny Colacicco

Hi Everyone, it's Jenny here and I'm so excited to be joining you today with my first official post for WOW! Embossing as a member of the Design Team!

I have a video to share with you today that shows you how to create imprints in all over embossed panels and create some really stunning effects.    You can check out the video here and over on the WOW! Embossing YouTube channel.  I'm using the new WOW! Dual Heat embossing tool in today's video, which some of you may have seen at Creativation - it was featured in a lot of 'top spots at Creativation' and I concur!! Love this tool!!

My first card uses a red rubber background stamp and WOW! Metalline First Frost embossing powder to create an all over impression in the liquid embossing powder.

Once the embossing powder cools, you're left with a beautiful set impression which you can then embellish with stamped images or die cut sentiments - the sky is the limit with this technique, even just using only one embos…

A Christmas Wreath By Jaine

I love to create wreaths at Christmas time and including them on a card is so classic. If you don't have winter foliage stamps why not look at some of your other stamps for images to adapt. Using the right colours and a bit of sparkle almost any image could be adapted into a wreath for Christmas.

I started simply by lightly drawing my circle on a piece of card. I had a roll of tape at hand so used that.

For the first layer I stamped and embossed directly onto the card with Glamour Green Embossing Glitter, the small leaf from a set by Pretty Pink Posh called Autumn Blooms.

For my next layer I stamped, embossed and die cut (the set also has matching dies which makes this part so much easier) some of the other foliage shapes. I chose Metallic Gold Sparkle Embossing Glitter and as I didn't have a red embossing glitter I created my own by mixing some Coral Beach Sparkles with a little Bonding Powder.

I arranged the pieces on my wreath and glued them down.

The biggest revelation to me wh…

Shimmering "three for one" cards | Zsoka

Hi there crafty friends,
Zsoka here with you today with some new card inspirations.
This month at WOW! Embossing Powder our theme is shimmer. So we are using anything that shimmers basically!
I always start out with one card to be honest, but then I hate throwing away anything so often I end up with more cards. This was the case with these cards too!

Do you know the Glintz powders? They are super pretty! They feature subtle shades of mixed golds and silvers. I selected three of them for my cards today: Inca GlintzOyster GlintzAztec Glintz I've covered 3 sheets of white card stock that were slightly bigger than A2 size with embossing ink. I then added a different color powder to each and heat set them. I repeated the process to get a smooth finish. Unfortunately these pictures don't do these powders justice! They are so shimmery and gorgeous!!!
I then used the Birch Press Design Butterfly Garden layering dies and die cut a different layer from each of these embossed sheets. I ad…

October Guest Designer - Michelle Short

Are you as excited as we are? Our guest designer for the month of October is the very talented  Michelle Short.

"Hello there, my name is Michelle and I am a part-time nurse, part-time crafter from London. I have been crafting for over 12 years and my style is mainly clean and simple, but I have been known to get inky once in a while! In my spare time I enjoy reading, watching films and cooking. I am delighted to be joining WOW as a guest designer for October "

I am really excited that the theme for October at WOW is "shimmers". I do love adding some sparkle on to my cards and today I have a super clean and simple card using Embossing Glitter.
I started off my card by die cutting a butterfly from white cardstock using one of the dies from the MFT Flutter of Butterflies Lace die collection. I then took an ink blending tool and pounced this in to the WOW Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad. I pressed the tool on to the wings of the butterfly, adding more ink to the…

Glittery Autumn Leaves By Jaine

It's October already and Autumn has well and truly kicked in. Here we still have sunshine but with the chilly nights and shorter days, the trees are showing their Autumn colours. I love this season for crafting as the colours are so rich and inspiration is everywhere.

For this project I cut some leaves on what I had to hand which just happened to be this Kraft cardstock. I wanted to work with Embossing Glitter but was unsure how well the glitter would hold up againsed the dark Kraft background but I was very pleasantly surprised.

I did find that some of the more translucent colours such as Sand Dunes, seen below, came out totally different on the Kraft than on plain white. You can see the contrast between the two is quite stark.

However, some of them came out better than I imagined. Hot Gossip on the right became a gorgeous, rich dark copper colour and Mermaid Tails on the left lost alot of the blue colour to leave only the gold flecks showing.

The results were so pretty, now …

To create my sentiment I have used sentiment ''Believe'' ,coordinated die and Platinum embossing powder.

Glitter Dragonflies

Today I’m showcasing two beautiful embossing glitters from WOW - Calypso and Zeus.

I chose some Pretty Pink Posh Darling Dragonflies for my card, colouring them first with copics and die cutting them with the coordinating dies. I then used an embossing pen to draw flicks of sticky ink onto the wings (only the half nearest the body to begin with).

I sprinkled WOW Calypso embossing glitter over the ink and heat embossed it with the WOW embossing heat tool.
I repeated this step for the other half of the wings, this time sprinkling on WOW Zeus embossing glitter. The wings are so sparkly, the perfect look for dragonflies!

I created a sunset scene for my dragonflies, using distress oxides in squeezed lemonade, wild honey and abandoned coral. I framed the scene with a window die from Pretty Pink Posh and some accompanying images from the Darling Dragonflies stamp set.
I added the dragonflies over the top of the scene with foam tape and stamped a Pretty Pink Posh sentiment to finish the card.
