Embossed Butterflies!

I want to share a really easy technique that is one of my favorite things to change up a stamp. It's nothing new, you've probably seen it a thousand times, but this time of year seems to lend itself to using this technique more with the Fall colors and leaves! I decided to use it with butterflies.

Here are the supplies that I used:

Build a Butterfly Stamp Set Flowers background Stamp Neutral Ultra Shimmer powder Clear Gloss powder

First, I took the stamp and inked it up with the three similar colors that I chose. Then I used a darker color and stamped the outline of the butterfly. Let it dry completely. Then cover the image completely with Versamark or other embossing ink and cover with clear powder. Heat with your heat gun. Let cool and cut out with fine tip scissors. I made 3 for this card.

For the background image, I used the Flowers background stamp, I inked it the same way mixing the colors, then instead of using clear, I used the Neutral Ultra Shimmer powder and embossed it.

WOW Butterflies

Hi Jenifer here with you today with a simple but beautiful layout.  I have had this wonderful picture of this group of butterflies that I took on a camping trip sitting on my worktable for years now.  It has just been to beautiful for me to really do it justice.  Until now.  As you can see I have kept the page pretty simple but still giving it plenty of pizazz.

Can you see all the sparkle?  I mixed the Sierra Sunrise Embossing Glitter with the Earthtone Honey and got a wonderful effect. For the Butterfly I used the ebony regular embossing powder and then colored it in with some color to make it look like one of the butterflies was flying out of the picture.
Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my post today.  Make sure you stop by everyday for all of the wonderful talent we have on this team. Jenifer

Patriotic Summer Decor

Few things conjure up thoughts and memories of summer then 4th of July, don't you agree? I love 4th of July festive colors and indoor/outdoor decor but don't have much of it. I created this little plaque to start my own collection of 4th of July decor.

I started with a plain piece of wood and covered it with some paper from Authentique Paper's Genuine line.

I then added to the background using the hearts from the stamp set called Gratitude and embossed them with Metallic Platinum Sparkle.

All the butterflies are from the wonderfully fun set called Build a Butterfly.

Each butterfly and coordinating smaller butterflies are embossed in the following 3 powders: Cable Car Red, Earthtone Blueberry & Neutral Ultra Shimmer.

I love the way this turned out...what do you think?

Do you like to make things for the holidays? What have you got planned for the summer? I just hope to get through the day without melting!! I hope you have enjoyed today's post. This has been Jeannie from The Polka…

Time Flies

Good day everyone!! It's Tanisha here again with another layout to share with you.

I have finally had the chance to work with the Build A Butterfly Stamp set and I am LOVING it!!  It's super versatile since the outline and fill-ins are individual stamps.  I used the set here on this layout along with embossing powders in Bubblegum and Opaque Pastel Blue and embossing glitters in Black Glint and Neutral Ultra Shimmer.

In order to really make my butterflies pop, I stamped and embossed them directly on the layout and then onto a piece of patterned paper.  I cut the butterflies from the paper and then adhered them with pop dots over the one directly on the layout.

This stamp set and WOW's amazing array of colors makes it really easy to pull colors from your layouts and create stunning embellishments!

Neutral Ultra Shimmer embossing glitter makes everything look amazing!!  I used it to add some oomph to some of the die cuts.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope I have…

All dolled up with Wow Embossing Powders

Today I am using my Cheery Lynn Dies along with some fabulous stamps and embossing powders from Wow Embossing Powders by the lovely Suzy West. I cam across this adorable bookmark on Etsy:

I always look at things and think..ooh, I could do that even though I do not have the exact supplies the original was made out of.  With all my Cheery Lynn Designs dies, I knew I would be able to make my own version of this Japanese Kokeshi doll.  I also knew I wanted to use all of my WOW EMBOSSING GLITTERS and WOW STAMPS to accentuate the patterned papers I was going to use for the doll. Here is my version...

My doll is much bigger than the bookmark and I have turned it into a plaque rather than a bookmark.

For the doll and clothing I used Scalloped Circle Stackers and Scalloped Oval Stackers.

I enhanced the dies and patterned paper with the Wow Embossing Powders and Stamps. You can see the sparly patterns on the dress and the background and I used one of the WOW STAMPS from the "CALL ME" for th…

Be You

Jenifer here with you today to do my first WoW post, I am so honored to be here, have you seen the crazy talent of all these incredible designers?  Well sit back check your email updates and be prepared to be inspired.  For my project I went old school.  I went all the way back to vellum, remember vellum the wonderful see thru thin paper.  I love vellum and as soon as I saw the  "Build A Butterfly" stamp set I knew what I wanted to do.

With a pencil I did a light line of where I wanted my butterflys and then one by one I stamped and embossed and stamped and embossed.  After I had all of them done I very carefully cut around the wings with a craft knife and folded the wings up so it looked like they were flying off the page.  I added my picture and quote and I was good to go.  I didn't want to do to much because I wanted the butterflys to POP.

I used all of the Candy Counter embossing powers, Whirly Pop, Gummy Bear Green, Cotton Candy, Berrylicious, Sour Lemon, Bubble Gum. W…

The Debut of 6 Girls & a Smoking Gun

We have so many talented and worldly designers on WOW! Today, I am introducing you to my amazing design team, 6 Girls and a Smoking Gun. We’ve been playing (who can call it work when it’s so much fun!) with the new Suzy West embossing powder collections and several other fantastic colors.

I’ll kick it off in the Golden State and share a layout of the day I spent hanging out with my cousins being “tourists” in San Francisco. I created my own patterned paper on cardstock using 2 colors of ink and stamping various images of the WOW! Call Me stamp set all over the page. I love this set!

You can use any color combinations you like and any of the WOW! Stamps to create papers of your own!
