Monochrome with Pearl Powders

So we're into August and its my turn, Emma (aka The Sparkly Fairy) to share with you my creation. The WOW DT challenge this month is to create a monochrome project using the Pearl Powders.

These are quite magical! In the pot they are simply white powder, but if you look at the swatch chart I made, you will see how they turn into the most fantastic colours. The colours can also be altered by using different coloured inks for stamping the image.

To make the above card I used the Silver Pearl powder which again looks completely white in the pot. I stamped the dandelions from the Make A Wish Stamp set and embossed with the powder. I then stamped the butterflies from the same set, embossed them and cut them out. This gives them a 3D look. I stamped and embossed the Believe sentiment from the Journalling set of stamps. I cut out the design with deckle scissors and dipped the edges into the powder.  Finally I put the card through an embossing folder to give extra texture.

Creating a background with foils

Hello again. My name is Emma (aka The Sparkly Fairy). I was so excited when I received the WOW! Embossing Foils to play with. The challenge WOW! have set this month is Nature or Vintage and the DT have been lucky enough to have the foils to use.

First I created a background using double sided adhesive and layering on two different foil colours - red and gold.  Then I stamped the dandelions from the Make a Wish stamp set over the top using Stazon Ink.

The 3D butterfly is created using the butterfly from the Simply Amazing set, stamped onto heat resistant acetate, covered with WOW! bonding powder and foiled with gold foil. I cut out a black butterfly to layer it on so it stood out more.

Once I had mounted the piece onto the card I used the iron technique to add foils to the small dandelions on the black card. To do this - stamp the image with an embossing pad and then pour over the WOW! Bonding Powder. Place the foil over the top, turn over the card and iron with a medium heat on the b…

Spring Inspiration

Hello again! Today I am sharing with you my DT project using this month's colour inspiration.

I used the butterfly stamp from the new WOW! Embossing Powders Stamp Set Simply Amazing. I embossed each butterfly with different powders - Easter Sparkle, Pastel Pink, Pastel Blue, Purple Glow, Pastel Purple. Then I cut out each butterfly and mounted them onto the card. I took three buttons and embossed them in the same colours and added them to the butterflies.  I used a WOW! Embossing Pen to make the dots on the card and then sprinkled over the different colour powders.  The greeting is from the stamp set Love Beyond Measure. I simply poured over two colours of pastel powder at the same time to get the two tone effect.

Don't forget there is still time to join in with this month's giveaway!

Spring Flowers

Hello, its Emma (aka The Sparkly Fairy) and its my turn today to share my creations with you. This month we have been asked to use these very bright powders (above) to create a project for Mothers Day, St Patricks Day, Weddings or Shrove Tuesday. You can join in the challenge too and be in with a chance to win a set of 12 WOW! Embossing Powders.

I chose to make a card using WOW! Embossing Powder stamps Build a Butterfly, Fauna and Personal Impressions Happy Birthday Flower set.  I stamped and embossed the flowers and the leaves using the bright powders and then arranged them into a bouquet. In the middle of some of the flowers I added beads with glossy accents. The butterfly was stamped onto vellum and embossed. The colours are stunning!

I then made toppers for a little box I'd painted using the same powders and techniques.
