Oh, silver! | Zsoka Marko

Hi there crafty friends,
Zsoka here with you today to share the latest cards I've created for WOW! Embossing Powder. Our theme this month is Silver/Gold and I've created two cards with gold powders for our Facebook challenge so I've decided I'd challenge myself and make silver ones for this blog post!
Also, I really don't like silver! Not sure why, I used to like it as a teenager, in fact I hated gold. But for the past 20 or so years I've sided with gold. I think silver is just too cold for me. Anyway, lie I said, I challenged myself and used it anyway! Here's how the cards turned out:

I buy stamps/dies every month, I can't help it. But I haven't had time to use all of them for the past couple of months, so I try to at least use them for my WOW assignments because other than the embossing powders, I can really use whatever supplies I want, and I love that freedom! So I've combined a few new favorites with some old ones on these cards!

Rainbow flower cards | Zsoka Marko

Hey crafty friends,
This month's theme at WOW! embossing powder is "rainbows". My fave! I love rainbows, they make me happy.
I generally don't use a lot of different embossing powders at the same time because I don't like warping. Plus the more times I emboss the same paper, the more stray powder I have, no matter what I do. So I decided to challenge myself to use several powders on my card and I'm glad I did.

Here's what I used for today's cards:

WOW! Embossing Pad WOW! Primary Ebony Regular embossing powder WOW! Metalline Perfect Plum Regular embossing powder WOW! Primary Parma Violet Regular embossing powder WOW! Primary Blue Tang Regular embossing powder WOW! Primary Apple Red Regular embossing powder WOW! Primary Bird of Paradise Regular embossing powder

I chose the Simple Flowers set from Altenew for these cards. It was the very first set from Altenew that I bought and to this day never used! It was love at first sight but I wasn't much of…

With Love - video tutorial by Ola

Hi there!

My name is Ola and this is my first post as a member of WOW crafty family.
First of all, I would like to say a big thank you for the invitation to join the team and the opportunity to craft using products I love so much.

For the January challenge ''All about hearts'' I created a clean and simple card using heat- resistant vellum and an embossing blending technique.

Close up photo shown below

For the sentiment I have used Pink and Main ''Love'' Die set which is available at WOW Embossing Powders UK.
Here is step by step video tutorial on how to make this card. Enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting to all of you! Ola xx

ONE STAMP WITH THREE DIFFERENT WAYS

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a fantastic Christmas project that I created using one stamp set in three different ways. At first you may think this process is difficult but it's not, it was fun! Take a look at my card:

On this card I used the stamp Secret Garden from WOW. This is a beautiful background that I love because their flowers are bold and very detailed. I used it to:
Stamp tone to tone - over the card baseStamp with heat embossing over the second layerStamp with emboss resist on the pine.

For the first step, stamping tone to tone, I simply inked the stamp with the WOW Embossing pad and stamped over the card base. The color of this is crumb cake and the stamped image obtained  is the same tone, only a little  darker.
The second way was stamping the Secret Garden image over a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using WOW Embossing Pad and WOW White Pearl Regular Embossing Powder. I just melted the powder with the WOW heat tool and cut the entire …

Foils....

Hi Everyone This month at WOW HQwe have asked to give you ideas on foils. You need a laminator for this project as it is one of the alternative methods to use with foils instead of the heat gun. Firstly I washed some watercolour paints onto a piece of cardstock then dried it off with the heat gun. I then stamped the stars from the new stamp set 'LET IT SNOW'over the paint with Versamark and then sprinkled bonding powder over this.  I then heat set the stars.  This goes transparent. Cut a piece of the green foil strip to cover the stars, and place colour upwards over them.  I then took a piece of wax paper (the type you use for die cutting) and placed this over the card and foil.  I then fed the card through the laminator. Peel everything off the card and you are left with the foiled stars and the wax from the paper has transfered to the background of the card, giving a rippled effect.  I then stamped the 'Merry Christmas' in black archival ink.  I then matted this onto …

Hello all, Nataliya is here :)

I believe that imagination allows us to open many doors - new talent, new solutions, new friends. And this is what my work is.

I love to do texture, especially old and tattered:

Old brickwork ...

to create it, I used a mix of powders of different colors -  WJ00 PaprikaWJ02 Honey & WJ07 Nutmeg

Scaly wall ...

to create it, I used a Cracked Leather stamp and WC01 Metallic Gold Rich Pale

I stamped inscriptions on the book sheet (Collage stamp) and used WS28 Black Glint

And a bit of volume:

Have a imagination day!

A Christmas Star

Hi there, Nikki here to share my Christmas inspiration with you.
I thought I would make a decoration for my Christmas tree using up all those  scraps of paper that I seem to have collected over the year.
So this is what I made,

I made lots and lots of little flowers from all my scraps and then glued them onto a polystyrene star.
Then I inked the whole star and covered it with gold embossing powder.......
This gave a really pretty edging to all the flowers - I really like this effect and it reflects the lights from the Christmas tree beautifully....
Are you all ready for Christmas?
WOW! Embossing Powders make a lovely stocking filler for all your crafty friends - pop on over to the shop (you will find some fab stamps, foils and silicone moulds too!!!!!).

Happy crafting
Nikki x

Non-Traditional Holiday Colors come to Life

Happy Holidays!
I thought I had an original idea brewing, but the Internet told me otherwise. (Thanks, Pinterest and Mommy bloggers!). Plus, I was inspired by the brilliance of a classic artist whose wise words spanned time:
It is the eye of ignorance that assigns a fixed and unchangeable color to every object; beware of this stumbling block.  ~Paul Gauguin
This month, the 7 Girls & a Smoking Gun design team, put together fantastic projects you can recreate for the holidays in non-traditional colors.
But first, let’s start with our showcase designer this month, Donna O’Leary, the infamous midnight scrapper. The Designer's Showcase is a chance to show us the best, favorite techniques in a project of the designer’s choice.
I think the box that Donna decorated would be a wonderful gift in itself even without goodies tucked inside. Take a look!
Donna O’Leary “One of my favorite things to do is making something new out of upcycled unwanted objects and with Christmas only around the…
