Mixed Media Canvas by Susanne Rose

Hi my dear crafty friends!

Susanne writing today and I'd like to share a step by step tutorial for this glittery mixed media canvas. Nothing works better to add glitter to a project than WOW! Embossing Glitters! Let's start:

1. Prepare some paper flowers. I used Twinkling H2Os and Neocolor II watercolor crayons to color the flowers. Give them a shape while the paper is wet. Pick the Heart Throb Embossing Glitter to highlight the edges of each flower. Put them together with some flower stamen and add a little green into the middle.

2. I picked a chipboard butterfly from my stash and covered it with Golden Crackle Paste. You can use any other chipboard or wood piece you have on hand. After the paste was dry, I colored it with acrylic ink. It's important you use a waterproof paint in this step. Let the paint dry.

3. Add a layer of black gesso (black paint will also work fine) and wipe it away with baby wipes immediately.

4. Add a layer, or two, of Clear Gloss Ul…

Have a Heart... One Stamp Two Ways!

Hello!
Trish here, sharing my projects for the 'One Stamp, Two Ways theme for this month!
I chose a stamp from my favourite set: Gratitude! I used one of the hearts, and made these....
My first project uses the hearts to create a note card.First of all I used turquoise paint to stamp the dots from the Funky Border Strips set ont scrap card, then stamped the heart multiple times using black ink. I cut them out, then sewed them to more white card. A few circle punches later, and the embellishments were ready to go onto the card blank. This was embossed in Apple Red , using the same dotty stamp as before. As the hearts are attached just down the centre, the sides can be raised for a 3D look....
My second use of the heart stamp starts out the same way as the first..... but rather than sewing the heart to more card, I've triple embossed them with clear ultra high powder! This gives a nice sturdy finish, as well as the glass like shine! I glued the hearts to wire, then attached the …

Broken Glass technique tutorial

Hello, my dear crafting friends! Irit is here today with my Broken Glass technical tutorial.
All you need to make this broken glass look is a big background stamp , clear embossing ink and a lot of Clear embossing powders.
Step 1:
Pick your WOW Embossing Powders stamp. I picked Suzy West  French Music Background stamp.
Stamp a background stamp with permanent ink. I used black Memento, but any permanent ink will do the job. Please, not any kind of pigmented ink as it will be a mess after the first heat embossing step, unless you want to heat the stamped background a lot before the next step.

Step 2:
Cover the entire  stamped piece with  Clear embossing ink  and add a thick layer of  Clear Gloss Ultra High  embossing powder. Heat it and add 2-3 more layers of the same powder.  Cool it and add more clear ink all over. Now add a thick layer of  Clear Gloss Super  Fine embossing powder and heat it again. Make it 2-3 more times with the fine powder. The fine powder should cover  some spaces tha…

Moments to share

Hello, my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here and this time with a project that maybe looks like a card, but it's not a card but an altered chipboard.  When this project was crafted I was still waiting for my new stamps and powders, so I used whatever I had and WOW- I really like the final result.

I made this altered chipboard mini tray with Tando Creative chippies and added a piece of 7 Gypsies paper to the back. Then the fun with embossing began.
First I added a  strip of double sided glue to this boat chipboard and then heat embossed it with Cotton  Candy blue powder. Then I covered this embossed strip and painted the boat with white pigmented ink and heat embossed it with a several layers of Clear Ultra High Gloss  embossing powder.
The frame was heat embossed with  Earthtone Blueberry.
The arrows - with Earthtone Nutmeg  and the compass with just a bit of Cotton Candy.
All pieces were connected to this travel tray and  some Tim Holtz stickers and a nib were the last touch.
I hope you …

Here is what she says about her amazing banner! "I created a mixed media banner using Basically Bare's Oh So Mini albums that were released this month.I love the different materials that they are made from and how the stamps and embossing powders work on them! I used many items to create this banner.
This cardboard piece was created with a brick template and VersaMark with WOW Embossing powders mixed and layered. I started with Cable Car Red and then layered Black Glint and some Copper. I then added the "Journey" Stamp and embossed with Bright White. The dots are Gelatos through a stencil and then dripped some Gelatos mixed wi…
