Sparkles with Frau Pony

Hello Everyone!
Martina here again with you.
Today it's all about the WOW Sparkles - and I have a little YT video for you. You can watch me creating these two cards on my Youtube channel - *here* is the link
I absolutely love using the beautiful WOW Sparkles for my cardmaking projects!
I usually use it with stencils and the "Tacky when Dry" Medium from TCW.
It is super easy to use: I apply it through an (Alexandra Renke) stencil with a pallet knife, remove (and rinse!) the stencil and set it aside to dry completely.

After everything is dried, I simply pour my Sparkles over the surface, make them a bit more stick with pressing/rubbing the Sparkles into the glueing parts and finally removing excess Sparkles with a brush.

For my two example cards I have been using WOW Sparkles in "Santorini" and "Frosted Petals".  In my experience, the finer the particles are, the more of these sparkly bits and pieces stick to the stencilled parts.

To finish the cards,…

Using Backgrounds on Die Cuts with Jenny

The Creative Team are having a fun month showcasing our favorite WOW! Stamps.  Today I'm using the Tropical background stamp.  It's a fun floral design, great for backgrounds and techniques.

Today I'll be showing you how to make a fun background using emboss resist and then die-cutting it to create two cards for the price of one.

To create my card, I first embossed the Tropical stamp onto some hot press watercolor cardstock.  I like to use hotpress as it's smooth and great for gettting a good impression.  I embossed using one of my favorite embossing powders - Metallic Platinum Sparkle.  I used my MISTI and left the stamp in place.  I then re-stamped and heat embossed in Super Fine Clear Gloss embossing powder.

On a craft mat, I smushed a few Distress Inks and spritzed with water - I used Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, and Peacock Feathers.   I then dunked my embossed piece into the Distress inks and dried with my heat tool on setting one.  I re-dunked and dried aga…

Designer Spotlight ... Jo Herbert

What is your favourite thing about crafting?
The thing I love most about crafting is learning and playing with new products. I also love seeing products come back and do a full circle so we are able to reintroduce trends back.
If you could chose to do anything to do for the day, what would it be?
I would love to take my family to Disneyland.  The idea of taking my family to an overseas trip is on my bucket list to do.

What’s your favourite genre of music?
My all-time favourite type of music is R n B – soul, dance, rap. Anything R N B related I am on the dance floor or making my own dance floor wherever I am.

What is your favourite book to read?
I love reading and don’t have a favourite book per se but a favourite series. I loved reading the Vampire Academy Series. I love all sorts of books really and I do tend to gravitate to modern romance as well. I know I know they are such a contrast of genres but really do love a good book.
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you n…

Oh, silver! | Zsoka Marko

Hi there crafty friends,
Zsoka here with you today to share the latest cards I've created for WOW! Embossing Powder. Our theme this month is Silver/Gold and I've created two cards with gold powders for our Facebook challenge so I've decided I'd challenge myself and make silver ones for this blog post!
Also, I really don't like silver! Not sure why, I used to like it as a teenager, in fact I hated gold. But for the past 20 or so years I've sided with gold. I think silver is just too cold for me. Anyway, lie I said, I challenged myself and used it anyway! Here's how the cards turned out:

I buy stamps/dies every month, I can't help it. But I haven't had time to use all of them for the past couple of months, so I try to at least use them for my WOW assignments because other than the embossing powders, I can really use whatever supplies I want, and I love that freedom! So I've combined a few new favorites with some old ones on these cards!

First of a…

Create your own glitter paper with Jo

Hi all, Jo here and welcome to todays blog post where I make my own full panel of glitter cardstock.
I also played with Pink & Main Butterfly cover die which I have die cutted the whole panel.
To start the process I pressed the Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Ink directly on the white cardstock coating the whole panel.
I then generously poured the Cloud 9 embossing glitter all over the panel which I then heat set it with the NEW Embossing Tool.

Put your hands up if you have purchased this heat tool yet?  The Design Team are having an absolutely fun time with it and can not express who much we love it.
Once I have heat set the embosing glitter I place the cover die directly on top and die cut te panel.  Let me tell you this panel cut like butter dtraight through the glitter. You can see in my process video that it also came out really easy out of the cover die.

I then placed the sentiment in the MISTI tool and lined this up with the rectangle die cut. I used a sof grey tone ink wh…
