Watercolor Tag by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty friends.

Today I'd like to share a Butterfly tag with you. I love creating tags, because you can try out new techniques easily and you can use the finished tags in so many ways. I add them to Art Journal pages or my planner. Another idea is, to use them for some wall decor and also on gifts.
For this tag I started with a watercolor background. I used watercolor sprays together with Brusho powders. I used black pigment ink to stamp my butterflie,s because you'll get a better impression on watercolor paper. As I don't want to wait until the ink is dry, I used WOW! Clear matt dull powder on top of the black ink. I add some color to the butterflies with pastel pencils. The tiny background butterflies are stamped with Archival Ink, just randomly.
I am a big glitter fan, so I decided to ink the edges of my tag with embossing ink and add WOW! Turkish Nights Embossing Glitter. I add some sewing to the border for more interest.
The title is cut wit…

Giveaway of Flights of Fancy and Big Words

Today I have a special post for you. I get to do an introduction of the two stamp sets I designed for WOW! I will share a card and a video where I talk a bit more about the sets and I hope you'll love them as much as I do. AND there is also a giveaway! WOW will give away one each of the two new sets Flights of Fancy and Big Words to two of our readers. All you have to do to have a chance to win is to comment on this post and tell us which one of the sets are your favourite and why. Good luck!
Let me tell you about my card first and then I'll get back to the stamps. It's a really easy card to make. I diecut the background out of smooth white cardstock. I wet a part of the paper and added distress inks so they blended. Dried it really carefully with my heat tool. It's important to let it dry completely because the embossing powder will stick to anything moist. I stamped the High Five and embossed with Calypso Glitter. Then I stamped the feather from Flight of Fancy (or …

Spring has sprung!!

Hello there!

I don't know about where you all are...but Spring is definitely starting to Spring here in the UK and not a moment too soon!

As you may know, our theme this month ties in nicely with the changing of the seasons...create something Spring related!  I'm sure there will be plenty of feel-good projects finding their way to the linky this month...

My card is based on colours that remind me of Spring...

The background is ink stamped directly onto an acrylic block and then spritzed with some water and pressed onto the card from.  I added some ink directly from the ink pad too.

The sentiment is embossed using WOW! Clear Matt Dull powder which juxtaposes the glitter on the butterflies.

After I die cut the butterflies, I heat embossed each one with two powders.

This one uses Vintage Peacock and Calypso glitter powders.

The lower butterfly uses Green Shimmer powder and Primary Lagoon. The Green Shimmer does exactly what it says on the tin!! The body just uses Primary Lagoon Powder.
