Sweet Laughter

Hello and welcome back to wow embossing powders.  This months theme is spring.  My project inspired by spring colours and some photos I took of flowers and my children in spring last year.
Sweet Laughter!

I have used wow embossing powders to transform my background page.  I used a stencil and texture paste and then applied the Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder over the texture paste. Heat set.

I used a number of photos I had taken and added them to my back ground.  To bring my photos into the background I used the same method as above but this time I used Bright white.  You get more of a distress look when applying to photos as the powder likes to stick to the photos.  You could spend some time with a paint brush and remove some of the excess powder.

Pebble Messages

Hello and welcome back all.  Today I am sharing with you a project inspired by my fellow team mate Christine.  Christine had a lovely idea to turn pebbles into paperweights for our home Decor projects.  I thought this was very clever and decided to play round with the idea.  Here is Christine project.

I wanted to make my friend something small and  meaningful and came up with this.

I really liked the idea of something small and I wanted  something that could have a wee message on it.

I used the melting pot and added colours to my Melt It Powder.   I poured some of the liquid onto a craft mat to create my message pebbles.

With the remaining liquid I poured it into our very cute  heart moulds and made these super cute sayings.

WOW Products I used:

Calypso
Primary blue topaz

Primary Sunset Orange

Orange Fizz
Easter Sparkle
Clear gold highlight
Raspberry coulis
Primary Purple Orchid
Green Shimmer
Primary luscious Lime
Heart Silicone Mould
Melt-It Powder
Well hope you all like my wee project and it …

A little bit of mixed media fun

Hello all.  I hope you have enjoyed the blog hop with Wow and Ruby Rock-It.  If you have not gone and had a look I highly recommend you do.  Today I have a layout to share with you using some mixed media technique.   I had so much lovely Ruby Rock-It product left over that I have used it in this layout.

For this project I have started by using a mask and a versamark pad.  Applied the versamark by pressing down into the mask.  This can be a bit tricky if you don't have a moist pad.  I then added a mixture of two embossing powders,  both light in colour as I did not want the background to over power the photo.  The colours I used in this project are special edition Dune and gobi.  I then heat set  the embossing powders.

You can see in this close up that the powders do not leave a complete colour, but leaves the shape that I had used from the mask.  If you would like to add another layer to the back ground.  Wow has some amazing colours available in foils.   Foils can be applied in m…

One Stamp, two ways ~ A Little Card Magic

Hello and welcome to WOW EMBOSSING BLOG.  This months theme is One stamp, two ways.  I have created a special card to give as a gift.   The stamp set I have used is Vintage wallpaper,  it would be one of my favourite WOW Stamps and can be used for so much.  I love using it as a background.
Vintage Wallpaper stamp
I stamped a piece of white card stock with my stamp and then added white embossing powder.  This created a white on white effect that I could use as a resist.  I got some colour sprays and strayed my paper over the embossed area.  While the spray was still wet I got a wet wipe and swiped over the embossed area to take of any of the excess spray.

I used a second piece of card stock and again embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper stamp,  this time I used a contrasting colour, cut my paper to size to fit my die and cut out some pine cone swirls which makes stunning wee roses.

I cut some leaves to go with my roses.

I made the roses an…

Time is Precious, Waste it Wisely

Hello and welcome back to WOW Embossing Powders,  Donna here today to share a project that I created.  This months theme is TIME.  It took a while to think what I could create, but once I had that pic in my mind it came together nicely.

TIME IS PRECIOUS...WASTE IT WISELY

I have had this Tim Holtz clock for a while now and knew I wanted to do something special with it.  I thought it would fit nicely into this months theme of time.

There was a lot of prep work for this project.  I covered the entire clock in white distress paint.  Why you ask, to give my surface some tooth.  I knew I wanted to emboss on it and I needed something for the embossing powder to grip to.  Once my paint was dry I covered it in a layer of Blue Topaz (such a stunning colour)  and heat embossed it.  I then got a mask out and in sections I added versa mark ans then vanilla white, again heat embossing.

I then spent some time adding more embossing powder for highlights,  I added Calypso to areas and  to blend them …

Garden Magic

Hello and welcome back to WOW Embossing Powders.  This months challenge is GARDEN!  I wish I could say I had a stunning garden full of veggies and stunning flowers but I don't. Graphic 45 have some stunning papers and one of my favourite ranges is secrete garden which I thought would perfectly for this months project.
I have used the new 6 by 4 canvas and made a wee garden scene.  I stated by covering the whole canvas with a background paper and added layers.

I embossed the entire edge with Opaque Vanilla White  regular and inked over top with vintage photo distress ink.  To bring the vanilla white back to the top I wiped over the embossed area and removed the ink that was lying on top which left only ink in the paper areas.

I cut my images out of paper and then turned them all over and embossed the backs of them.  I did this to stiffen up my images that I am going to be layering.  I used the same vanilla white knowing that some of the embossing powder will sneak around and s…
