Mixed Media Art Doll: by Trish

Hello!
The theme for this month is my favourite thing, mixed media!
I've created my favourite thing, an Art Doll!
As well as plenty of paints and inks, there are rather a lot of WOW products in there too!
I stamped the body using the dots from the funky border strip set, and embossed them using white powder. The 3D heart is created using the heart mould, with clear and process blue powder. To get the swirly effect, add the blue powder on top of the clear powder, then just leave well alone until completely melted. Stir just once, then pour into the mould. The white inner core of the blue powder is not totally released that way, giving the variations in shade...
The 'love' word comes from the Express yourself stamp set. I stamped it onto tissue paper then added it to the body.
I added a strip of hearts to the base, from the Gratitude set..
The crown has been triple embossed using primary apple red powder, with a layer of white powder as the second layer. The white breaks th…

Have a Heart... One Stamp Two Ways!

Hello!
Trish here, sharing my projects for the 'One Stamp, Two Ways theme for this month!
I chose a stamp from my favourite set: Gratitude! I used one of the hearts, and made these....
My first project uses the hearts to create a note card.First of all I used turquoise paint to stamp the dots from the Funky Border Strips set ont scrap card, then stamped the heart multiple times using black ink. I cut them out, then sewed them to more white card. A few circle punches later, and the embellishments were ready to go onto the card blank. This was embossed in Apple Red , using the same dotty stamp as before. As the hearts are attached just down the centre, the sides can be raised for a 3D look....
My second use of the heart stamp starts out the same way as the first..... but rather than sewing the heart to more card, I've triple embossed them with clear ultra high powder! This gives a nice sturdy finish, as well as the glass like shine! I glued the hearts to wire, then attached the …

Family Layout with WOW

Hi this is Jenifer here with my family project.  I did a fun messy layout of my family to give you an idea of how fun and messy Wow can be.   Step 1:  Using the funky boarder strip stamp and the clear gloss super fine embossing powder stamp on the dots.  This will be your first layer.  Heat set. Step 2:  Using some sprays or even some water color paint over the embossed dots.  The embossed dots act as a resist and the fun colors will make them POP. Step 3:  Layer!! Layer!! Layer :)  first I did the thread then I dug into my scrap bin and put together some flags along the bottom of my picture.  The fun scallop along the bottom of my picture is a doily that I cut apart.  Step 4:  When everything is adhered in place attach some flowers and a WOW flower center.  I used opaque pastel blue and cotton candy with the Melt it and got this fun swirl effect.  Last but not least I wrote family in the bottom corner with a WoW pen and ebony embossing powder to complete my page.
I hope you have enj…

Family Star

Hello and happy Friday everyone!!

So in continuing with this months Stars and Stripes theme I have created a piece that really could be used in a couple different ways. I know typically, especially here in the U.S., whenever we hear Stars and Stripes our thoughts automatically go to 4th of July. But i wanted to do something a little different. So instead I created this piece that can be a wall hanging or an ornament.
I took this picture last Christmas and wanted to do something special with it for everyone. So I thought these would make great little pieces to give to everyone.

I started with a chipboard star album that I took apart. There were five stars pages in the album which worked out perfect. I then covered them with Tim Holtz Tissue Wrap that I had crinkled up. Next I painted over the tissue wrap with some very watered down white paint, because i still wanted the words on the tissue wrap to show thru slightly. I then sprayed it with Perfect Pearls Mist Blue Patina. After tha…

Cute Little Birdhouse

We've got babies! Zebra finch babies that is!
They are still half naked but really cute! When they are being fed by mama or papa bird the make a lot of noise in our back yard aviary.

These cute little baby birds inspired me to create this cute little baby bird house.

I first stamped the plain wood bird house with Versamark and Funky Border Strips Stamp Set and Canvas Clear Stamp. I used a brush to add Versamark at the bottom of the bird house. Then I embossed the stamped areas with Pepper, Honey, Evergreen and Olive.

The little wood veneer birdies are embossed with Burgundy Red and Paprika,
After embossing I sprayed the house with Glimmer Mist and then embellished it with Prima flowers adn a crystal heart.

Thank you for stopping by today!
Looks like spring is finally here, make sure to enjoy it!

Happy crafting!

The Perfect Pair

Hello, its Donna here today to share a layout I created for a great friend.  This layout is very clean for me but I love everything about it.  I hope you do to .

I have used WOW Embossing stamps and embossing powders as my main embellishments for this layout.

I have used the boarder stamp to create a patterned paper back ground and a strip stamp out of the Gratitude stamp set  to add an extra layer of wee hearts.  I embossed the background and those cute little hearts in Primary Ebony.

Do you have lots of sheets of alphas that are not the right colour, easy solution to this is to emboss them to a colour that suits your project.  My theme was white, black and pink and I really liked the idea of just a few of the letters being pink.

Adding small touches is a key to a good layout,  I love to add that little bit of extra like the wee pink squares in my hand drawn boarder, or the wee pink love heart that I created by using the WOW Embossing pen  and the yummy  Fluorescent Pink.
I hope y…
