WOW! Sunshine.....

Hi Folks, well this soon rolls round! Here I am again with my offering for this month's theme Summer & Sunshine.
As soon as I saw this theme I knew that I wanted to create a simple, sunny canvas using the WOW! Embossing Powders.

I drew the sun on a canvas that I had covered with a neutral acrylic paint and then proceeded to colour it in using a WOW!Embossing Pen. I used Primary Lemon E/P for the rays edged with Opaque  Primary Mandarin and then built up my sun using the same colours. I added quite a few layers to the sun as I wanted some texture, (I think you can just see that in the picture below).

Next I covered the whole canvas in Versamark Ink and embossed the complete piece with Pearlescent Orange E/P to tone down the vibrancy and give a lovely shine to the whole canvas. The wooden embellishment was coloured with Promarkers and then embossed in Clear E/P. I stamped out the wording, cut it out and added it to finish.

I hope this sunny canvas makes you think of hot days - j…

Flutter By Butterfly!

Hi there, Rachel here with my project for this month's 'Nature' theme.
I decided to go with a layout this month as I had some photo's that I took in my garden last year and have been waiting for the right moment to scrap them.

I am fortunate enough to have a couple of 12"x12" sheets WOW! Resist Paper. These papers are already embossed and take ink, paint and chalk beautifully. They are available to purchase in mixed patterned 6"x 6" packs on the website.

Ornamental Top Hat

Hi there, Rachel here with my project for this month's fabulous 3D Challenge.
I decided to craft a Top Hat and decorate it with some yummy flowers made using embossing powders.

The hat was created using plain black card that had been stamped with the Brocade Clear Stamp and embossed with Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder.

For the flower embellishments I mixed the new Melt It! powder with Silver Pearl E/P (the light ones) and also added a pinch of Ebony E/P to the mix to create the darker ones. I melted the powders in foil cake trays and poured them into silicone molds - aren't they just divine?

Well I hope you like my project this month and please keep stopping by to see all the other wonderful ideas from our Design Team and don't forget to join in our Challenge to have the chance to win some of our lovely powders.

Have a great crafty month,

Rachel x

Up-cycled Tag Book

Hi Folks, Rachel here with my project for this month's challenge.
I've wanted to make a Tag Book for ages using the cardboard tubes from toilet rolls and this challenge gave me the perfect opportunity.

I stuck one end of each tube together, covered them in papers and then added a strip of  WOW Fab Foil in Pink around the open edge using double sided tape. I added couple of book rings, some ribbon, a title hand written using a WOW Embossing Pen and embossed with Earthtone Olive and a pretty rose using our new Melt It Powder mixed with Pastel Pink E/P and poured into a silicone mould. This completed my pockets for the tags.
The tags were die-cut from old off-cuts of Mountboard and I decided to have a play using just two of our stamp sets, Make a Wish and ME Collage. The same design twice but with totally different looks - all done with Distress Inks and WOW! Embossing Powder.
These little books are great to add to and could be mini scrapbooks, technique books, or whatever takes …

Give a Little Love!

Hi, Rachel here with my project for this month's theme 'Anything Goes.'

As my blog date falls on Mothers Day in the UK I decided to go with a female theme, giving a card and gift together.

I found lots of templates for this style of card online and adapted one to suit the 6"x 6" easel card that I wanted to use.
The topper was sprinkled with 3 Embossing Powders; Pastel Yellow, Lilac Shimmer and Green Shimmer and the easel stopper embossed with the Lilac Shimmer too.

Feminine and pretty with a touch of 'Spring'.

Memories!

Hi Folks, Rachel here with my take on our challenge this month. I thought I'd go with the 'New Year' theme and as I like to scrapbook decided to make a Memory Box that I could pop all those bits and pieces in that I collect throughout the year, ready to be used on my layouts.
I decided to use a clock theme, quite appropriate for New Year, and here is what I made:

Hi WOWsers, Rachel here with my blog project for this months Christmas challenge.

I wanted to create something I'd like to hang on my wall this festive season and had great fun making this.

Thank you Gift Card

Hi Bloggers, Rachel here with my project for this months Challenge, 'Anything Goes - Thank you.'

I decided to make a gift card that holds tea lights, but you could replace these with a small present of your choice such as pencils/pens or chocolates.

I found the template for this on You Tube; there are quite a few variations of this card but I wanted one that sealed top and bottom so this is the version I chose.
I used the Gratitude Clear Stamp Set, the Funky Border Strips and Indigo Super Fine Embossing Powder, Little-Lou Purple Glitz and White Twinkle Embossing Glitter.
