Flower Power canvas!

Hello!
Trish here with my project for the fabulous Monochrome theme!
I decided to create using the classic monochrome black and white colour scheme, and made a canvas..
I love working on box canvases, as there is so much depth to decorate as well as the front! I made sure there was lots of texture on my edges...
I added interest to the front by stamping onto tissue paper, then gluing the tissue down. Once the glue dries, it becomes transparent and the design looks like it was stamped directly onto the surface...
I used the gorgeous Vintage Wallpaper stamp.
The flower was created using the triple embossing technique. I sketched out the flower shape onto chipboard, then cut it out. A thick base such as chipboard is essential when triple embossing, the weight and quantity of embossing powder you are putting on will simply warp and curl thinner cardstock!
I embossed three times using Black ultra powder, to give the depth and sheen...
To get the dotted effect, quickly sprinkle on a tiny (r…

Altered Canvas - Love Family Life

Good morning :) It's Sandie here today with  my take on this month's theme - Gardens

I created an altered  4" x 6" Box Canvas wall hanging taking inspiration from the colourful gardens around my street right now.
I prepared the canvas with a layer of gesso and quickly dried it with my heat gun. Then I layered on some tissue paper and applied another layer of gesso over it, before spraying the canvas in blues and greens - to represent grass and sky.

Taking the Cracked Leather stamp and Versamark ink I first heat embossed some Olive powder and then I used the stamp again with black Archival ink. I applied some gold embossing paste and set it aside to dry.

While my embossing paste was drying I made some Flowers and a red Heart. I don't have a melt-pot so I used some Foil Melt-It cases and my heat gun to melt the powders and Melt-It. For the flowers I used Bright White and for the heart I used Apple Red

I took some white chipboard letters and heat embossed the…

Be you (with a lot of embossing powders)

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our new monthly challenge.
Irit is here with some  embossed inspiration.
This month we challenge you to use Fabric (any fabric as you can see from my project).

This is a new Mixed Media piece I made for WOW! Embossing powders Fabric monthly challenge.
My fabric is canvas I worked over and I tried to use some different mediums and to add embossing powders over those mediums to see the results. All mists are from LSG.
All chipboards and masks are from Tando Creative and I used black gesso, glossy accents and white molding paste to add a lot of embossing and to check the results.
Well, it works great over the black gesso: we  still see the black colour, but then it gave us a textured look and made the gesso mask very visible.

The " blood drops" over glossy accents are less visible, but still gave a good  textured result.
Adding powders over wet molding paste gave the most visible texture (the outer frame splashes were made this way).

You are Loved Canvas

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share a canvas that I made for a very dear friend of mine who is going through a lot.  I can't wait to give it to her.
I took a 8x10 canvas and drew a heart in the middle of the page.  With the WoW embossing pen I then went around the heart a few times and applied Angel Wings embossing glitter which gave me a beautiful place to start.  Apply the texture, I inserted my title before the texture was dry to help keep it in place.
I tore up tiny scraps of paper in reds and pinks to give the heart a mosaic effect.  I hand cut the wings and applied Neutral Shimmer embossing glitter over them to make them sparkle.  Lastly I added the flowers.I hope you have enjoyed my project today, stay tuned for more wonderful projects from the team. Jenifer

Baby Joseph

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by the WOW! blog today. Today I am going to share with you my very first canvas project ever. I have been seeing tons of these lately and finally decided to give one a try!!

Our oldest God Daughter had her first child on Easter Sunday and I made this for her and her husband to hang in their house (if they like it....). So I started off with a plain white 5x7 canvas. I took a few sheets of some older Basic Grey paper that I had laying around and torn them into strips. Using Mod Podge glue I layered the paper strips onto the canvas. Next I took gesso and painted it on top of the paper strips. I sprayed the gesso with water to thin it down so the paper could show through more. Once that was dried I used my embossing stamp pad and inked the entire canvas. I then covered it with Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Powder. After heat setting the powder I then took the heart boarder stamp from the Gratitude Stamp set and randomly stamped the hearts on the canva…

Dream Big Altered Canvas

Hi this is Jenifer here with you today to share this fun canvas I made. I started out with a canvas that I had messed up on and was just laying around.  The first step was to scrunch up a couple layers of wax paper and  mod podge them to the canvas.  After that I used some spackling that I got from Home Depot and added a nice textured layer on top of the was paper.  I then took another sheet of wax paper and scrunched it up and went to town with my WOW powders.  I put the versamark pad directly on the paper not worrying about getting into all the nice little cracks.  After cutting out my embossed waxed paper into 3x3 squares I mod podged them to the canvas, at this point I felt they were a little to bright so I put a thin layer of white paint over the top and it went into the cracks and I was very happy with the results.  Then it was the layering of all the fun elements.
Here is a close-up of  all the details. I hope you have enjoyed my project today, it really is amazing what you can d…

Happy Olympics from the Glitter Girls

Hi Everybody!!!!

Wishing luck to all the teams from all over the world!
Speaking of teams, we have the Glitter Girls up on the blog today! They have been up to their armpits in glitter, and have some yummy projects to feast your eyes on!
First up is Jen Matott!
Here is what she says about her amazing banner! "I created a mixed media banner using Basically Bare's Oh So Mini albums that were released this month.I love the different materials that they are made from and how the stamps and embossing powders work on them! I used many items to create this banner.
This cardboard piece was created with a brick template and VersaMark with WOW Embossing powders mixed and layered. I started with Cable Car Red and then layered Black Glint and some Copper. I then added the "Journey" Stamp and embossed with Bright White. The dots are Gelatos through a stencil and then dripped some Gelatos mixed wi…

Grow Canvas

I thought that I would share a cool technique with you today, I am sure that most of you know about it and have used it before but I thought I would share it again.  This is a small canvas (4x4)  I used the "Call Me" stamp set.  I used the Clear Gloss Superfine, I painted the entire canvas blue then wiped off the extra with a paper towel.  Where there was the Clear embossing powder the paint came off leaving me with the white of the canvas exposed.  I then decorated it with little bits and bobs coming up with a grow theme.  For the sun I use the Sierra Sunrise Embossing Glitter, and boy does it sparkle.

Here is a close up of the Sierra Sunrise Embossing Glitter, see how beautiful it is.  I think it is one of my new favorites, along with all of the other wonderful colors.

Other Supplies used:  May Arts Bakers Twine, My Little Shoebox Cardstock stickers and remenants of a doily.

I hope you have enjoyed my project for today, make sure you stop by tomorrow for more inspiration:)

Love canvas

Hi there!
Birgit here today with a little love canvas.

I first covered the canvas with tags, a doily and pieces of book paper. On top I put a thin layer of Gesso leaving some parts of book print uncovered. On those parts I stamped with bubble wrap and Versamark and embossed it with WOW! clear gloss regular. This keeps the book print visible and creates a resist for the Tattered Angels glimmer mist that I sprayed on top.

I layered a piece of Punchenella (Sequin waste) as a mask in the left upper corner and filled a couple of spots with Versamark and then embossed it with WOW! Metallic Silver regular. After spraying the whole canvas with glimmer mist I took a little piece of cardstock, used my crop-a-dile to punch out a couple of little holes and layered it on the canvas. I filled in the holes with Versamark, removed the cardstock mask and embossed the little circles with Suzy West Whirly Pop regular.

A heart cut from book paper was sprayed with glimmer mist. I put a piece of Punchenella o…

Earthtone Sampler Canvas by: Sesil Cratin

Sesil here to share a project I made for CHA.  If you are at CHA make sure to stop by the WOW Embossing Powder Booth #2700 and see the amazing creations made with WOW Embossing Powders!

I wanted to create a sampler of the wonderful colors the Earthtone collection has to offer.
I created my background by adhering down text paper to the canvas. Then I used coaster tiles from Technique Tuesday and used the "Floral background" stamp for the main frame. and used the script from "Call Me" stamp collection for the additional tile on some of the frames.  I added little roses to the centers of some of the open frames and just added a ribbon to the tiles frames.

I am honored to be with such great talent on one Design Team. Make sure to check back often to be inspired and ready to learn some amazing techniques on our blog.  Don't forget to like us on the WOW Embossing Powder Facebook page.  You don't want to miss out on the great give-a-ways and contest we hold on our Fa…

Getting ready for the big day!! Plus a DT call!!

You know it's CHA time because I haven't been going to bed til' 2am and I've been getting up at around 5am!! LOL This is what happens every year for a lot of designers. We don't sleep. LOL We eat, breath, and think CHA. I can't wait to see the HUGE CHA sign that hangs in front of the convention center. I think that's when it becomes real for me. It becomes even more real when we get in and see the HUGE room that looks like a warehouse and there are no rugs, no curtains, no displays...nothing and realize...Oh ya...that's me that has to put this booth together. LOLI'm excited about the ton of projects my team have created for the booth! They are so beautiful!! As you can see they are super creative!!! I would like to give a special shout out to them and to my wonderful lead designers! They have worked endless amount of hours to make sure everything is ready! So shout out to Jen Deal, Erin Payne, Gina Lideros, Angel Bartonico, and Tricia Wilson. I wan…
