Love is in the Air

Hello everyone, Erika Taylor here and I'm so glad to be back creating again. Although the process is taking a little more time, the break was so needed and I feel that I've gotten a little more clarity.

Today i'm sharing with you a project filled with love. I used a combination of Whirly Pop, Cable Car and Opague Pastel Pink Wow Embossing powders to create this "Lovely" home decor item. I wanted something that could actually stay up all year long and found this beautiful charger plate on sale for $2.00 for the base of the project.

Here are a few photos for ya

First off a photo of the materials I used. Feathers, a charger plate, wooden hearts and letters, and my favorite Wow Embossing Powders.

a close up of the heart for you as well. I love marbling two or three colors of Wow Embossing Powders together for a great textural effect.

I used a few Valentines sprigs and some May Arts lace as well to give a little more UMPH to the project.

Erika Taylor here, and for this months challenge, I have decided to CREATE COLOR ONLY WITH EMBOSSING POWDERS!!! That's right, The challenge this month is to create a project that is either black, white, or kraft and ALL the color is made by using EMBOSSING POWDERS. Sound hard? I know you can do it!!!

To give you a little inspiration for this, I've created a layout using Silver, Cotton Candy, Opaque Primary Azure and Berrylicious embossing powders.

Here are a few close ups of the layout for you to see. The frames, and stars are all shimmery from the Silver Embossing Powder. Love these colors!!!

Now for the entire layout. A great way to use those embossing powders to create interest and color on any project.

Now it is your turn. Once you have created your project using embossing powders as the ONLY F…

A Card and a Canvas- Erika Taylor

I love taking color and making it sing. Rainbows, butterfly wings and flowers are all full of inspiration for me and today I've got 2 projects to share with you that are BURSTING with color.

Hello everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you an easy to create card and a whimsical canvas. First lets start with the card. For this piece, I used a combination of Bubble Bum, Cotton Candy and Rich Gold embossing powder. I took the cotton candy and Bubble Gum embossing powders and covered a piece of White card stock with them. I heat embossed and let completely cool.

Once the card stock was cool, I put a flower stencil on top and with emboss ink, covered the piece with ink. Then poured gold embossing powder on top, removed the stencil, heat set and VOILA!!!

Love the look of double embossing. You can create your own custom backgrounds using any colours and stencils. I also added a little Embossing Powder to the handmade flower to tie it all together.

Here is the finish project tied up …

Faux Marble Picture Frame Video Tutorial

Hello everyone. Erika Taylor here today to share with you a video I created using some of my favorite Wow Embossing Powders, Helmar adhesive and some paper flowers. For this frame I used a combination of Whirly Pop, Tea Garden Green and Cotton Candy. The final project was completely covered in Ultra High Clear Embossing Powder to give it a glossy finish.

I hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions, please ask.

After the video, you can see a few photos of the final project for a bit more detail.

I also used a great sentiment from the Stamp Set It is a Bird for the glass portion of the picture frame.

To gain a little more pitted texture, I added Glass Bead medium and Molding Paste to parts of the frame.

Thanks again for stopping by. Until next time

Steampunk Art Canvas Flies With the help of Powder

I can't hide it even if I tried, my love for Steampunk art is pretty strong. The combination of vintage and industrial together is inspirational for me. Maybe it is the contrast or perhaps the dreamy nature of it, but Steampunk is pretty darn cool. Hi Everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you a Canvas I created using So of my favorite Wow Embossing Powders. The Gold Rich and Copper Embossing powders are perfect to distress gears with and I love mixing them together to create a really unique look.

I also used the Wow Clear Gloss Embossing powder on the butterfly and drizzled a little more of the Cooper powder on top. Love this butterfly!!!

The final project is filled with glimmer and whimsy and I really am a fan of how it turned out. The gears are perfect thanks to Wow Embossing Powders.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and taking a look at my Steampunk inspired Canvas using my favorite Wow Embossing Powders.

Until next time

Wow Earthtone Powders and Masculine Scrapbook Pages

It is no secret that I love the earth tone collection of embossing powders from Wow Embossing Powders. I think it is the cook in me, with names like nutmeg, pepper and honey, how can you not like them right?

Hello everyone, Erika Taylor here today to share with you a scrapbook layout I created using Quick Quotes Tin Type papers and the earth tone collection from Wow (with a little Copper thrown into the mix).

I used these embossing powders for stamping, masking and to highlight the chipboard alpha letters. First a photo of the letters. I used Bloody Mary Powder Puff ink, then the copper.

For the envelope, I decided to emboss the entire thing. (the envelope was originally white with red polka dots) Then I used the postage stamp from Wow to add a little more interest.

This next photo really shows how well Wow Embossing Powders work with masks. I used the Tim Holtz Timeworks masks to create the background paper.

Now for the final project. Do ya wanna see? are ya sure? Well here it is, a layou…

"Loving Every Minute of It"

For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul. Doesn’t this quote from Judy Garland just make you sigh? *sigh*

I hope you all had a terrific week. I’m not even sure if Valentine’s Day is completely global, but what a fantastic excuse to wear red, steal a kiss, indulge in champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, stop and smell the overly priced roses, and remember the moment (or moments) you fell in love.
The 7 Girls and a Smoking Gun design team at WOW! Embossing Powders shared so much passion this week in their love of crafting, that we were bursting with projects! Playing with Embossing Powders, Pretty Papers, Our handy-dandy heat guns, Stamps...We were loving every minute of it!

Each lovely lady posted a sneak peek of a sweet little project created with V-Day in mind and if you followed the links to their blogs you found tutorials, inspirations and smiles. (I have the blogs posted again at the end.)

And then, like the cal…
