Christmas Emboss Resist with Gemma

Today I have two cards to share using the emboss resist technique. I love this technique for creating backgrounds for cards.

For the first card, I cut a panel of white card and added stitching detail using the Lawn Fawn Just Double Stitching rectangle dies.

Using the Pretty Pink Posh Leaves & Berries stencil, I inked through the stencil with WOW clear embossing ink. I then added WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder and heat set.

Next, I blended colour all over the panel with distress oxide inks in picked raspberry and candied apple. The embossing will resist the ink and stay white. I used a paper towel to remove any ink that was sitting on the embossing.
I flicked the panel with water for droplet details, then adhered the panel to my card base.

I repeated these steps for my second card, but used some blue cardstock, tumbled glass and blueprint sketch distress oxide inks, and WOW Silver Pearl embossing powder.
To finish both cards, I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Season's …

Silver Pearl Stars by Gemma

Today I have a card to share using one of my new favourite embossing powders - Silver Pearl.

I love how this powder looks different depending on what colour card stock you use. To show this pretty feature on one card, I decided to emboss on an ombré of card panels.

I cut three panels of Fun Stampers Journey card, in the following colours: Tin Pail Pool Play Huckleberry Fusion I taped the panels together on the reverse, then used the Pretty Pink Posh Stars stencil with the WOW clear embossing ink. I heat embossed the stars with the Silver Pearls embossing powder.

I adhered the panels to a card base, then used the Lawn Fawn Just Stitching Rectangles to add some detail.
To finish my card, I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh Congrats word die - once from silver glitter card and twice from the Huckleberry Fusion Card. I layered them together then adhered to my card to finish.

Have a lovely day, Gemma
