Easter Pastels with Gemma

Today I’m sharing a card using this month’s theme of Pastels. I used some pretty pastel embossing powders to make an Easter themed card.

I began by choosing some Pretty Pink Posh Easter Eggs to emboss. I wanted to copic colour the images, but it’s not advised to use copics on embossed images as it can damage the nibs. To get around this, I used my stamping platform to first stamp the images in a light ink colour.

Once I’d copic coloured the images, I put the piece of card back in my stamp platform, stamping over them again using WOW clear embossing ink. I then embossed them using Pink, Yellow, and Blue Opaque Pastel embossing powders.

I layered the Easter Eggs with foam tape over some leaf and berry images from the Pretty Pink Posh Spring Wreath stamp set.
To finish, I stamped a sentiment from the Pretty Pink Posh Easter Eggs set, then added some PPP clear sparkling jewels around the card.

Have a lovely day, Gemma

Puddle Play with Gemma

Today I’m sharing a card using this month’s theme of Foils. I’ve used some Bright Silver Fab Foil to add accents to my scene.

I began by creating a background using distress oxides and blending brushes. I inked the brushes first then tapped them lightly in water. I used swiping motions to add colour to the panel which gives a lovely rain like effect. I added some pink and yellow inks amongst the blues for some extra colour.

Once the panel was dry, I took the puddle and rain stamps from Hello Bluebird Rainy Day stamp set. I stamped images with WOW embossing ink, then heat them with WOW Bonding Powder. I added the silver foil sheet over the top, pretty side up, allowed it to cool, then removed it to reveal the pretty foil details. I did this process in stages so I only needed to work with a small area at a time, slowly building up the background scene.

I stamped and copic coloured some images from the Hello Bluebird Puddle Play stamp set. I added the panel to a white card base, then the…

Hello, WOW fans! Anne here with a greeting card I made using my favorite of all the WOW Embossing Powders, Metallic Gold Rich Pale Regular. As my focal point, I used a lovely digi stamp created by Rick St. Dennis. Being completely enamored of turn-of-the-century fashion, I knew I had to color this image the moment I saw it. You know how some images or colors or designs just speak to you? Well, this was one of those things for me. If there is anything I love as much as heat embossing on my projects, it's coloring with alcohol inks.

Anyway, I'd like to share this little card with you today. As you can see, I used the gold embossing powder on my greeting but I also used the WOW Embossing Pen on the flower shapes around the frame to color them gold as well as the earrings and brooch, which on which I used the Clear Gloss Super Fine Embossing Powder to give them the look of crystal and onyx. In addition, I pressed the edges of the image, which I die cut with a Spellbinders die, into…
