Designer Spotlight ... Jenny

What is your favourite thing about crafting?
I get into a zone where all my daily stresses melt away without me realising it. It's a great relaxer.

If you could chose to do anything to do for the day, what would it be? I would love to go to a music festival in England again with nice sunny warm weather, pint in hand and watch my favorite bands with my husband who is from the US and never got to go to them. Back when I lived England I was a regular at the Leeds Festival and Download.

Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?
BUTTONS ON CARDS. I have soooo many buttons. Bring back the buttons!!

What song would you say best sums you up?
I Am The Fire by Halestorm - that song gives me chills - super inspirational and definitely one to kick my bum when I'm being self critical or feeling sorry for myself!

What is your favourite book to read?
So I typically don't read a book more than once as we have finite time in our lives and almost infinite books! However, I adore …

Foiling with Bonding Powder with Jenny Colacicco

Hi Everyone,

It's Jenny here with a video showing you how to use WOW! Fab Foils with WOW! Bonding Powder.  I've been meaning to try this technique forever and I found a few tips and tricks along the way which I thought I'd share with you.

You can check out the video over on WOW!'s YouTube Channel here:

I took advantage of the opacity of the foils by choosing coloured cardstock to foil on - pink, purple and dusty rose from my stash.

For this card, I used the Pink Fresh Studio Dainty Botanicals stamp set.   All of the images were stamped in WOW!  Embossing Ink and then I added WOW! Bonding Powder and heated it.  Exactly the same way as you would with a normal embossing powder.

One of the tricks with foiling is to have your foil ready to go and heat the bonding powder a little longer than you would with normal embossing powder, then immediately add the foil.  I find it helps to use a teflon bone folder to burnish the foil, and then 'waft' the cardstock a litt…

Altered lantern from a piece of paper!

Hello, crafty friends! It is Victoria on the blog today. Our August theme is "Flowers" and I absolutely love it: I use flowers in almost every project. And I've prepared something really cool. This lantern I created from scratch and embellished with my handmade flowers. I will give you the instructions below.
1. I cut 8 a2 paper frames and 8 borders, using my die-cutting machine, two pieces 12*12 cm of paper for the top and the bottom and two pieces 10.5*10.5 cm of 2 mm thick cardboard. Also I cut four 1,5*13 cm paper strips and scored them in half in length and folded. Then I glued the frames to the folded strips (1st frame-paper strip-2nd frame, so you get rather firm and steady construction), that way I formed rectangular base for the lantern.

Erika Taylor here, and for this months challenge, I have decided to CREATE COLOR ONLY WITH EMBOSSING POWDERS!!! That's right, The challenge this month is to create a project that is either black, white, or kraft and ALL the color is made by using EMBOSSING POWDERS. Sound hard? I know you can do it!!!

To give you a little inspiration for this, I've created a layout using Silver, Cotton Candy, Opaque Primary Azure and Berrylicious embossing powders.

Here are a few close ups of the layout for you to see. The frames, and stars are all shimmery from the Silver Embossing Powder. Love these colors!!!

Now for the entire layout. A great way to use those embossing powders to create interest and color on any project.

Now it is your turn. Once you have created your project using embossing powders as the ONLY F…
