Kim Dellow Guest Post - Safe Keeping

Hi everyone, Kim Dellow here with a guest post and I'm excited to share my 3D WOW! Embossing Powder project with you all here on the WOW! Embossing Powder blog.
My 3D project is an altered matchbox that I've called 'Safe Keeping'.

The little heart is made from Melt It! which I've recently reviewed over at my blog. I've also used Pearlescent Gold Satin Pearl embossing powder and a Melting Pot.
First, I melted some Melt It! on its own and added some red seed beads, poured it out and cut with a heart-shaped cookie cutter. Then, I melted the gold powder with some Melt It! to make another heart. When both hearts were cool, I stuck them back to back to get that lovely depth to the heart.

I covered the matchbox with papers and a bit of packaging then added some more WOW! Embossing Powder, in layers, with a glue stick. The colours I used were Earthtone Honey, Earthtone Paprika and a touch of  the Pearlescent Gold Satin Pearl.

Thanks for having me over at the WOW! Emb…

Father's Day Card with stencil embossing

Hiya all, it's Sarah here and I've created a Father's Day card using the Wow Earthtone powders that I wanted to share with you all.

Here are brief instructions on how to make (I used a blank pre-folded Square Card with a linen effect but and blank white card would work well with these colours):

STEP ONE
Using clear ink, stamp the squares pattern from the Funky Border Stamp Set and sprinkle over Wow Blueberry Embossing Powder and set using a heat gun.

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Hi everyone, it's Sandie here with my Earthtone project, which is our inspiration theme for this month.
Don't forget we have our monthly challenge for you to play along with, and you can find all of the details about it HERE.

For my card I used an olive green cardstock base. I created my background by using Paprika embossing powder and the Funky Border Strips stamps. For the sentiment I used Olive embossing powder, also from the Earthtone range, and the Everyday Sentiments clear stamps. For the cupcake I used the Paprika to tie it in with the background. The sentiment has been mounted onto 3D foam.

To embellish I adhered some satin ribbon strips across the top and some jute behind the sentiment. I tied some bakers twine around the sentiment and attached a watch charm.  I also mounted some flossed buttons onto 3D foam dots for extra dimension to the card. The game ticket is from Little Yellow Bicycle's Get your Game on Ticket Book.

Sun, Sea & WOW!!!

Hi my blogging friends, Rachel here again with my offering for this months Challenge.

When we were told to use the Earthtone Colours I immediately thought of this picture I took of my boys and hubby at Easter on our little get away to the Isle Of Wight. In my mind the colours in the photo really mirrored the some of the Earthtones and I knew I wanted to scrap this picture as it reminded me of a very happy day.

I started with a 12"square piece of kraft cardstock and using a dotted mask I inked through with embossing ink and then heat embossed using Paprika.  After a bit of blue card tearing (sea like?) I used the Paprika again to emboss onto some torn vellum stamped with the dotty border off the Funky Border Strips - ME Clear Stamp Set and used this to create the bottom element of my page. I used eyelets to attach the vellum as I didn't want any adhesive to show through.
The picture was matted onto some green cardstock (I wanted to add an accent colour to the blue and orange t…

Earthtone Birthday

I loved the selection of colours that we were given to work with this month.
The Earthtone selection are wonderful for cards for the men in our lives, they are a wonderful selection that are fantastic as a base colour for any creation!
Here is the card that I made,
I loved the colour so much that I couldn't pick just one or two...... so I used them all!!!
I have used them in the order that they are on the banner
paprika - grape - honey - olive - pepper - mint - blueberry - nutmeg - pomegranate
The base colour I used for the dotty background was bark.

You will find all of the earthtones here....
The funky border stamps and wording is here .....

We would love to see what you create. Remember to link your blog so that we can come and visit.

Father's Day Card in Earthtones

It's not long now until Father's Day (17th June 2012), and the WOW! Earthtones are ideal for making the traditionally difficult 'man card'. I've combined technique with colour to give texture and something to catch the eye - I've even added decoration on the inside, which I very rarely do! Read on for information on how to make this card and a handy shopping list!
