Wow! You rock my world

Hello there, craft people! It is Victoria here today on the blog with my very first DT project. I have to admit, I adore heat embossing in every way! So today I am sharing a card embossed in a few ways. I've made it for a fan of classic rock music and computers.

I like to create custom backgrounds, so I started with a regular black cardstock and applied red texture paint through the stencil. While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled some Heart Throb powder here and there and melted it wih a WOW! Heat Tool.

Then I added a couple of paper pieces, which were embossed with a folder and sprayed and inked with a black ink a bit. Between the layers of paper I placed die-cut gears, covered with ink with a help of Wow Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad and embossed with Ebony and Heart Throb powders. Actually I believe that use of similiar powders on different elements helps to keep the project together.

Calm

Hi Everyone

This month at WOW HQ is anything goes, so I have taken inspiration from a fellow artist Lea DeCosta www.careandfeedingofartists.com and used her 'Serenity' words.

The words are 'Sometimes I forget that it is not what I put on paper that matters most, it is the 'putting' itself, the act of writing something down - making a mark.  The peaceful feeling I get from letting something go'

I started by taking the flower and meadow stamps from 'Make a wish' and 'ME Collage' and stamping onto white card stock with Versamark and heat set with clear embossing powder.  I then gently went over the images with distress inks.  The second layer is made of spray inks and placed on top while wet is sea salt.  This is left overnight  to dry and to cause the pattern on the card stock.  The third layer is alcohol inks onto glossy card stock then stamped with Versamark and heat set with ebony embossing powder.  The scroll at the top of the card is heat set …

Memories of Disney….

Hi Everyone

As I was sat on my sun lounger on holiday I was reflecting on holidays spent with our daughter.  You see this was the first time without her - she preferring the bright lights and thumping sounds of Aya Napa to being with her parents.  So I created this for  WOW HQ this month.
I have chosen to go back in time to 2007 when my family and I went to Disney World.  Our daughter loved (and still does) MINNIE MOUSE even though she is 18 years old now!

I started by cutting out some die cuts from different scrap pieces of card stock and vellum: Marianne Designs, Spellbinders,Sue Wilson, Sizzix and Tattered Lace.I then inked and heat set  some of them up with Versamark and used the following embossing powders: New-Daytona Sands, New-Atlantic Spray, New-Long Island Teal, Bark Ebony, Pepper and Copper Pearl. The 12 x 12 card stock, I firstly sprayed with Dylusion sprays and let it dry. I then took the embossed  die cuts and arranged them on the page. The stamp 'SMILE' is taken f…

Love life with Irit and WOW!

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here with our first monthly inspiration and this is our Antique month. So here we go:  the old  chipboard piece got this new " outfit" , also in a very vintage style, but still new one.

First I covered the chipboard with a thick layer of gesso ; then it was covered with a mix of old tapes, all kinds and companies.
The basic tapes were covered with another layer of thin gesso and then I used texture paste to make all those swirls with Tando mask. The wet paste was covered with Metallic Gold Rich  Regular powder and heat embossed all over.
The chipboard shapes were heat embossed partly withPrimary Ebony Super Finepowder and then I addedRuby Romance glitter over the still bare parts.

The  whole board was misted with a mix of gold, pink and light yellow mists (LSG).
Then I made WOW! molded shapes: Shabby rose and this big fancyOrnate  heart. Both were made with Melt-it and a pitch of color. The heart shape was then embossed over with the sa…

Enjoy the Journey - Altered Paintbrush

Hi guys! It's Sandie here today, with my take on our March challenge which is WOOD

I started with a cheap 4" wood handled paintbrush, from a discount store, and primed it with a few coats of gesso. Then I covered the handle with text coffee filter paper and finished it off with some clear embossing powder.
I made some black and white flowers using Melt-It and some moulds and I embellished the front of the brush.

Make your own Washi Tape with Wow Embossing Powders

You can make your own Washi Tape with a little bit of tissue paper and ICraft sheets from Therm O Web and make as much "Custom" Washi Tape that you desire.

Step 1:  Stamp and emboss desired image on a piece of tissue paper.

Step 2:  Cut you ICraft sheet to a desired size, I went with 3/4" and then peeled off one side and stuck the tissue paper to ones side and when you are ready to use your tape you tear off your piece and then the backing and stick to your project.  Easy

Here are a couple of examples that I made.

Here is a close up of the Layout I created using the Brocade stamp set with the cable car red embossing powder.  I am so excited to make some more.
I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial today make sure you come back tomorrow for even more inspiration. Jenifer

JK-5K

Today I am going to share with you a layout I made using two of my favorite WOW! Glitter Embossing Powders....Suzy West Sierra Sunrise and Black Glint (my other favorite is the Neutral Ultra Shimmer!)
Ever since I can remember I have loved to run. Even now that I am older I still love to run 5K races regularly throughout the summer. I do it because I love it and not for the time. So when I found out I had actually placed at this race I was thrilled. So to highlight this achievement I made this layout.

Since yellow is my favorite color I took yellow cardstock and cut out the JK 5K and then embossed them with the Suzy West Sierra Sunrise Embossing Powder.
Then on my chipboard numbers and letters I double embossed them by first embossing them with Ebony and then with Black Glint. I wanted to make sure they had a really good black base. I just love how the glitter embossing powder just gives your project a little extra sparkle.
Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to come back tomorrow an…

I still do!

Hi there and welcome to the WOW! Embossing Powder Blog. Here is Birgit sharing a layout today. My husband and I are together for 26 years and in march we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary.

Let me show you how I created this page. First I sprayed glimmer mist at the top of the paper and dragged the paint down the page using a bank card. I stamped the heart with Versamark and embossed it with WOW! Primary Ebony.

Then I stamped the heart a second time on scrap paper and cut out the inner part with a craft knife. Now I could use it as a mask laying it on top of the embossed heart.

I put a piece of Punchanella on top of the mask and filled the dots with Versamark using a piece of blending foam.

Then I took away the punchanella and the mask and embossed the dots with Suzy West Honey.

After that I put the mask back on top and sprayed the heart with glimmer mist. The embossed parts work as a resist. If I would have put a piece of kitchen paper on top after spraying the dots would have been t…

Wee Ruby at the moment had seamed to of stolen all my scrapping time.  I have a few photos that I just love and these are some of them.  These photos were taken on Christmas Day and its her first time at blowing bubbles.  :-)
