Love life with Irit and WOW!

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here with our first monthly inspiration and this is our Antique month. So here we go:  the old  chipboard piece got this new " outfit" , also in a very vintage style, but still new one.

First I covered the chipboard with a thick layer of gesso ; then it was covered with a mix of old tapes, all kinds and companies.
The basic tapes were covered with another layer of thin gesso and then I used texture paste to make all those swirls with Tando mask. The wet paste was covered with Metallic Gold Rich  Regular powder and heat embossed all over.
The chipboard shapes were heat embossed partly with Primary Ebony Super Fine powder and then I added Ruby Romance glitter over the still bare parts.

The  whole board was misted with a mix of gold, pink and light yellow mists (LSG).
Then I made WOW! molded shapes: Shabby rose and this big fancy Ornate  heart. Both were made with Melt-it and a pitch of color. The heart shape was then embossed over with the same Ruby Romance glitter (please make it very quick as you will melt the inside shape)

The metal frame with the word Love was originally in silver, but I just made it gold with Metallic Gold Rich Super Fine powder and added this stamped Love word (Inspired by Stamping)
The other embellishments added were the old recycled gold chain with a bead on the bottom; the die cut word LIFE (CLD); Prima misted flower that was white and a vintage diamond shaped button.

As you can see everything can be done  using Wow! powders: you can cover your texture and backgrounds; can make your own embellishments;can  change any other colors and you can make your chipboards shiny in any possible color.
Now it's your turn to play with WOW! MONTHLY CHALLENGE. Make something Antique with heat embossing of WOW! products and you can be  the winner.

Life's A Beach

Good morning crafty friends, I hope you're all well and getting very creative this month!
As this month's challenge is summer and I live on an island it seemed only natural that my inspiration card would feature sea and sand.
To create my beach scene I started off with a piece of pale blue card and a rubbed a Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad across the top several times. I then sprinkled WOW Peppermint Tea Powder and Under The Sea Glitter over the top, tapped off the excess and melted with a heat tool. I created the sand underneath using Gold Pearl Powder.

For the sea I ran a line of PVA glue in the middle of the sky and sand with my finger, sprinkled with Under The Sea Glitter and melted with a heat tool. For the waves I added small areas of PVA straight from the nib of the bottle when added Opaque White Powder.

The birds and sentiment I have used Opaque British Summer Powder which is one of my favourite new powders, great colour and great name!
Finally, I added beach in…

Handy Stamp Storage Idea

Hello everyone... Happy Tuesday! :D

It's Sarah here with today's blog post created for our Monochromatic theme.

I don't know about you, but I always find I need to use stamps from a mixture of stamp sets and I thought it would be easier if I didn't have to slide each stamp set in and out of the packets all of the time.

I have a bunch of empty CD cases that I had almost thrown out but thankfully I hadn't as they turned out to be the perfect solution! The part that holds the CD easily popped out so I could then position my different stamp sets within them.

I found an old wooden CD box but it had no lid and as all clear acrylic stamps are best stored out of the light, I decided I would make a box lid for it... not just a plain lid though... a Wow Embossed box lid!

Here are brief instructions on how to make it:

STEP ONE

Using pearl silver card, I created a square to the size that I needed (145mm) and added 30mm wide rectangles around the square adding in some t…

IT WASN'T EASY…...

But we did it…..

We managed to choose two fabulously talented ladies out of all the entries we received in our recent Design Team Call and oh boy did we get some entries…. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!

It was so hard choosing, there's some seriously creative people out there !!!!

So… who are they ? I hear you ask !!

Drum Roll Please ………..

In no particular order, well, it's alphabetical really, that seemed the fairest way :) :)

We have the FABULOUS Jo Herbert, Jo is sharing her creativity all the way from Australia.

And the very CREATIVE Riikka Kovasin, Riikka is sharing her creativity from Finland.

They both have a fabulous style, we wouldn't have chosen them otherwise ;) ;) and we're sure you're going to be inspired by them as you are with our other fabulous DT Girlies… #wehavethebestdesignteam
You can check out a bit about them HERE along with our other fabulous DT members.
