Corrugated Hearts By Jaine

I love playing with textures and creating cards with textured elements is very satisfiying.
I had a piece of corrugated card on my craft table which was left over from another project and wondered how it would look if I embossed over the top of it. I lightly went over with a little gesso, almost dry brushing it on, to give it a slightly worn finish before cutting out the heart. I then tapped my Embossing pad over the top to catch the ridges and embossed in a lovely dark pinky/red shade of powder called Primary Pink Robin.

I also embossed a larger heart in Metalline Red which I chose to use on my card front adding a die cut word from Pretty Pink Posh, embossed with the new Black Magic which is in the shops soon. I love the slightly grungy look the heart has especially with the gesso peeking out from underneath.

Why not have a go for yourself, it's great fun and brings out the texture superbly!

Gold Embossed Backgrounds with Ankita

Hello friends!

It's Ankita from Glitter Doodles and I am so excited and equally honored to write my first post on the WOW Blog as a WOW Design Team member. As you know, our monthly theme is 'rainbow' for the month of August 2018 and I used various techniques for my rainbow card today.

I love working with background stamps and gold embossing powders from WOW. I used Metallic Gold Sparkle Embossing powder from WOW with Watercolor Stripes Background from MFT Stamps to create a gorgeous metallic gold background against white. It had a very wedding invitation elegant vibe to it.

I water colored a rainbow in a heart shape and die cut it using Lawn Fawn Heart Stackables Lawn Cut Die. I took a strip of vellum about three quarters of an inch wide and placed it across the rainbow heart.

I die cut the word Love from Die-namics Huge Love Die four times and stacked it one on top of another to give it dimension. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of black cardstock using Wow Clear Ultra …

Mixed Media Art Doll: by Trish

Hello!
The theme for this month is my favourite thing, mixed media!
I've created my favourite thing, an Art Doll!
As well as plenty of paints and inks, there are rather a lot of WOW products in there too!
I stamped the body using the dots from the funky border strip set, and embossed them using white powder. The 3D heart is created using the heart mould, with clear and process blue powder. To get the swirly effect, add the blue powder on top of the clear powder, then just leave well alone until completely melted. Stir just once, then pour into the mould. The white inner core of the blue powder is not totally released that way, giving the variations in shade...
The 'love' word comes from the Express yourself stamp set. I stamped it onto tissue paper then added it to the body.
I added a strip of hearts to the base, from the Gratitude set..
The crown has been triple embossed using primary apple red powder, with a layer of white powder as the second layer. The white breaks th…

Family Mini Album

Hello! Birgit here today with an embossed mini album cover.
To create this cover I combined two ways of embossing. Dry embossing with embossing folders and heat embossing. Using these 2 together can create awesome effects.

I first stamped my cardstock with yellow ink to add some extra interest. Of course you could use pattered cardstock as well but make sure to use light colors and small prints to get the nicest result.
I added Versamark on the higher parts of one side of the inside of an embossing folder. To do this lightly push the whole ink pad to the folder surface but be careful not to push to hard or you will also cover the lower parts Then I put the cardstock in with the side I want to be heat embossed (so the stamped side) towards the Versamark and run it through my Big Shot. After that I added Metallic Copper embossing powder to the dry embossed cardstock and heated it.

For the cover of this album I used 2 pieces of cardstock with 2 different embossing folders and applied t…

I'll Keep You Warm! - A Wintery Tag

Hello! Birgit here today with a wintery tag.

The tag itself comes from the Prima Tag Pad. I stamped it with Versamark and the "ME Blizzard" stamp and then embossed it with White Twinkle Embossing Glitter The impression is not perfect but I actually like that because it gives a more distressed look.
Then I sprayed it with pink and purple spray paint. The embossed parts resist the paint but you need to dap off the excess paint.

I added a few drops of IZINK Gold at the top of the tag and sprayed a little water on it while holding the tag upright. Let the IZINK run down. The angel wings were painted with the same color.

The heart was cut from cardboard and the top layer peeled off. I painted it with IZINK Opaline and little bit Gold. Then I added some Versamark on top and embossed it with Magical Mauve Embossing Glitter.

Finally I drew some little black circles and colored them in with a white pen. The tag was finished with some Prima sequin flowers and a sentiment.

Let's ho…

We belong together!

Hello! Birgit here bringing you some love today!

It's still february, month of love and romance and I want to share with you a simple but fun card.

To create the hearts I first made a gelli plate print, stamping into red acrylic paint using the Vintage Wallpaper stamp. This way you create a mirror image of the stamp. After die cutting the hearts with Sizzix Movers and Shapers - mini hearts set I covered them with Versamark and embossed them with 3 layers of Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.
The hearts were bound togehter with wire and adhered to the card using 3D Foam Squares.

Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting!
Smiles, Birgit

With Love On Valentines Day...

Hi, it's Sarah here from Sarah Rhodes Designs with a couple of Valentines Card Designs for you on the theme of Love...

The first project uses one of my favourite stamp sets from the Wow Embossing Powder stamp range: Is It A Bird Stamp Set

I have used the small heart stamp and repeated the stamp to create a lovely heart pattern (TIP: I inked and embossed one line of hearts at a time so that the ink didn't dry out before adding the embossing powder!) The gorgeous deep pink colour that I used to heat emboss the hearts is Wow Tickled Pink Embossing Powder

To finish the card, I looped a strip of pretty striped ribbon and attached a tag that I'd printed and cut out.

Here is a similar design but uses a different Wow stamp for the 'With Love' sentiment and a range of pink coloured embossing powder.
