Designer Spotlight - Raluca

WOW! Embossing Powder would like you to get to know our talented designers that little more so we have asked a series of questions that they have answer to share before they blog posts. First up is the very talented Raluca.  Q: What is your favourite thing about crafting?
A: It helps me so much with my anxiety and it makes me feel special
Q:If you could choose to do anything to do for the day, what would it be? A:Crafting, definitely crafting! Sometimes, I feel that I’m addicted to cardmaking!
Q: Is there any you wish that would come back to into fashion? A: Nope, not really! I don’t follow the trends in fashion and I’ve always been the kind of gal that wears what’s comfortable and not what’s trendy.

Flower Card by Susanne.

Hi everyone.

It's Susanne writing today and I'm sharing a flower card. Our theme this month is "One stamp in three ways". So I decided to oick one of the Hey Little Flower images and use it differently.

I started by creating my pieces:
1. I created my background. I stamped the image with black permanent ink to colour it with watercolours.
2. I created a smaller piece where I embossed the image with Bright White powder. I wanted to colour the whole piece. The embossing pops up as it resists the watercolour.
3. I cut out one single flower, which was embossed with the Colour Blend Mint Macaroon and coloured with watercolours, too.

Finally I put the card together and added a sentiment.I adhered the single flower with 3d foam pads to make it pop.

Thank you for stopping by today.
xx Susanne.

Mixed Media Butterfly Tag by Susanne

Hi my dear crafty Friends!

It's Susanne writing today and I'm sharing a mixed media tag. Yes, I love creating tags!!! Why? They have a super size to test new techniques, you can create cards with them, use them simply as a tag on a gift, add them to your art journal or planner or only keep them as a reference for your self.

I used the lovely "Layered Hearts" stamps together with "Blueberry Cheesecake" powder on my background before I added any color. The tag is colored with liquid watercolors. The embossing acts as a resist. I used the group of tiny butterflies from the "Mariposa" stamps set and the words from the "Just Saying" set.

The butterfly is one of the Sizzix Butterfly Duo. I pressed it softly onto the Embossing Pad and added "Iced Silver" Glitter. It's colored with liquid watercolor. The happy is a die from CUTplorations. I used chalk cardstock from DCWV.

Thank you for stopping by!
Have a nice sunday.
xx Susanne.

MARIPOSA COLORED EMBOSSING CARD

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a colorful card that I created using the stamp set Mariposa designed by Maya Isaksson and WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder. Take a look at my card:

Creating this card was a fun time: 1. Cut the base of the card using Very Vanilla card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2" 2. Cut a second layer of Very Vanilla. The size is 4-1/8"x5-3/8". 3. Cut the die cut Leafy Border using Old Olive card stock. 4. Stamp the butterfly images from the stamp set Mariposa over the second layer using Splendor #10 Ink. This is a craft ink in Circus colors. 5. Cover your images with WOW Clear Gloss Embossing Powder and melt it with the WOW Heat Tool. 6. Stamp the words from the stamp set Just Saying by Marion Emberson using the same ink and covered with the same embossing powder. Melt with the WOW Heat Tool. 7. Paste the Leafy Border die cut over the left border of the stamped layer. 8. Paste the decorated layer o…

HELLO LITTLE FLOWERS

Hello crafty friends, It's Martha Lucia and it's my turn to share with you! I hope you are enjoying our projects this month using flowers because this is my favorite theme - I love flowers and the Hey Little Flowers stamp set is one of my favorites right now. Take a look at my card:

I started by stamping the background with lineal flowers included on the stamp set Hey Little Flower using WOW Embossing Pad and then heat embossed it with WOW Clear Gloss Regular Embossing Powder. Next, I tied on some natural thread cord and then built the rest of the card from there. I wanted to use the new colors of WOW Embossing Powders and I decided to use Strawberry Sundae, Mind Macaroon and Banana Split to stamp each flower ... delicious, right???

First I stamped each flower using WOW Embossing Pad and then heat embossed these with these three different colors of WOW Regular Embossing Powder, all inspired by Marion Emberson as well as both stamp sets that I used, the Hey Little Flower and th…

Mixed Media Flower Tag by Susanne

Hi everyone!

Susanne writing today and I'd like to share a mixed media flower tag with you. I used the brand new "Hey Little Flower" and "Just Saying" stamp sets. The base of my tag was some embossed white cardstock from DCWV. I painted it with black gesso and highlighted the embossing with "Strawberry Sundae" colour blend powder. I really enjoyed the awesome look, the new colour blends have on black. It looks silver with some awesome shading, depending on the colour you pick. I used the same powder on the solid flower. The other images are embossed with Black Glint powder! I picked a scrap from my gelli prints as my background.

I hope you like my tag. Thanks for stopping by today. See you soon,
xx Susanne.
