Flocks and Foil

Hi EveryoneSue here, This month over at WOW HQ is 'Memories'  I haven't used a photograph this time, but some of the fab WOW stamps and a new template I purchased. from Paperbabe Stamps.  This is a template from which you can make a face and different hair styles  and stamps for the lips, eyes and facial expressions.  My inspiration was thinking of my daughter.  (soppy aren't I!).  I firstly sprayed a background with Dylusion spray inks and once dry took some plastic stencils (Tim Holtz) and sponged Versamark through these.  I then sprinkled Bright White Embossing Power over the Versamarkand heat set.  I have used two of my favorite WOW products flock and foils.  These products are less well known than the powders but equally fun to experiment with.  One of the techniques is to use self adhesive covering (one sided sticky back plastic - clear), and a metal stencil.  I have tried using double sided sheets but they are too sticky for the flock and foil and are a mess trying…

Are you brave enough for stamp and heat emboss on your handbag???

I´m really a stamping and heat embossing addict. Nothing is safe from decorate it with my own designs ;o) Not long ago I got this bag as a free gift with three shampoos for my hair. So it was totaly clear I will try to stamp and heat emboss on it!

And this is the result! The best ever christmas bag!  I heat embossed the stamp images after stamping and decorate each christmas tree with glitter red und gold embossing powders.
The material´s I have used:
WOW! Embossing Powders in: Metallic Gold Rich, regular Red Glitz, Embossing Glitter  Ebony, regular
WOW! Flock in white WOW! Clearstamps Set - Merry and Bright WOW! Embossing pen
If you want to know how it works and when you can see this bag in natural just read more!

Masquerade

Hi Everyone,
This month with WOW it is Halloween using glow in the dark, Puff powders, Verdigris and Opaque Primary Mandarin. I have used a 6x 6 ins card and sprayed it with Mica spray. On another piece of white card I have sprayed red and purple mica sprays. The same sprays I have used on a mask from The Range purchased for £1.I have let these dry overnight.
I have then stamped out the bird from the Vintage stamps in Versamark followed by White Puff embossing powder on the white card.  I have brushed them slightly to give a distressed look.  Then inked over the top with dusty concord distress ink turning the birds purple. I have then used Marianne Creatables bird on a branch die and a large spellbinder wing die. After covering with Versamark, heat set with Black puff embossing powder.

The shadow flowers are a Spellbinder die covered with Versamark and sprinkles with Verdigris and Mandarin embossing powder and heat set.

The leafy scroll is a Cherry Lynn leaf flourish die, inked up with Versam…

Flock to the country!

Hello its my turn this month, Emma (aka The Sparkly Fairy) to share a WOW! Embossing Powder Project with you. As you may have guessed from the title we were asked to create something using the Flock Powders and it was not to be a card!

I decided to create a canvas using the Flock powders to create a landscape. I cut double sided adhesive in landscape shapes, applied it to the canvas and then rubbed the flock powders onto each section. You could also use the Bonding Powder as a fixative. The overlays are black peel off stickers.

I had never really tried flocks before but am really pleased with the results you can achieve!

Shopping List for this Project:

Bright Blue

Meet the Flockers

Please forgive the word play for the blog post title, I couldn't resist! I've been playing with the WOW! Fabulous Flocks and this decorative vase is the result.

I punched the pink flowers from high tack double sided adhesive sheet, sticking them down onto the vase before pressing the flock firmly onto the top sticky surface. Brush off the excess flock with a stiff paintbrush.

I made the yellow centres by folding a strip of double sided tape in half so it sticks to itself before punching out the sun shapes. This time I flocked them before sticking them down to the pink flowers. The strips at the base are just different widths of double sided tape stuck down and then covered in turn with the flocks.

This project is a bit fiddly with all the double sided tape, but you'll end up with your item fabulously flocked! And the best thing? If you don't like it, peel it all off and try again - those three strips at the bottom had four different colour combos before I settled on t…
