Old and Dated to New and Pretty

Don't you just love going into Junk shops, recycle store or similar and finding bits that are really just utter junk and thinking that you can turn it into something usable.  I LOVE IT!  and do it all the time.  Don't tell anyone but most of the birthday pressies and Christmas pressies I have made have started from the junk Shop.
I really want to do a before and after shot of this but when I started this project it was at night,  so please. please forgive the quality of the first photo.
Here we go...

I had so much fun making this,  I am going to give it to my sweet Jadie for her earrings. It has two little draws down at the bottom perfect for that.

A few close ups.....
I used white gesso to start with and covered the whole box,  once it was dry I painted it with Broken china distress paint and then I chose the totally Yummy stamp from wow and stamped over all the flat surfaces.  Sprinkled with white wow embossing powder and lastly decorated with flowers and other embellishm…

Show A Little Love

Hello all, Donna here in little ol New Zealand.

Today's share is a project that I created for fun and thought it would be perfect to share with you all this month.  I am very lucky to have an amazing boss who lets me bring toys from work home.  I have admired this die for some time and thought it would be lots of fun to play with.

For this project I used a Versamark Ink Pad and  Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.
It is very simple.
I have inked my die cuts and then added layers of embossing powders till I got the desired effect.  In total I used  5 to 10 layers of embossing powder.
Tip:   used tweezers so you don't burn your fingers :-)

I hope you have enjoyed my share today and I will be back next month.
Before I go have you checked out this months challenge, there is still time for you to enter.  I have been a long and looked at all the entries so far and they are all stunning, so If you are after some inspiration go check it out.

Do you know we are on face book!  you can fi…

Winter Wonderland

This is my first posting for WOW Global and I am so excited to be here!!!
Here in New Zealand it is mid summer, kids are playing on water slides, day trips to beaches,  local parks and enjoying ice cream.  All my photos on my camera are of sunny warm days.  I had this fabulous idea of getting a great photo of all the kids (6)  lined  up eating ice cream but it just did not happen.  So I found myself a bit stuck with this months challenge!  ICE AND SNOW! So I had to put my thinking cap on.  I was at our local garden center the other day getting some lettuce seedlings for the kids to plant when I stumbled across this CUTE bird. I knew I had to take him home! He sat on my table for a while and then it hit me.  I could do a winter theme canvas. I have not played with canvas a lot so I was a bit worried that it would not work. I love what I achieved and will be doing more!
I have started with a wee canvas turned round so I could use the back which created a framed working surface.  I …

"Tis the season of giving"

Well I told you I would be back and today I am going to share with you a project that the girls have been helping me with.  End of school year all ways gets the girls excited as we make all the teachers a thank you present.  This year we have decided on making a little reusable gift bag to full with Christmas teats,  its just little but lets the teachers know that we appreciate what they do for our kids.

Here is what we got up to

I popped the handles inside so we did not get any Metallic Silver on them. I then covered my box in versemark and embossed the entire box Metallic Silver  I popped the handles out and covered them in versamark and poured  Cable Car Red Regular over and heat set.  Here's a handy wee tip.  ALWAYS pop excess powder back into container before turning your heat gun on.  This way you wont blow it everywhere.
Finished product after the kids had fun adding some tissue tape, tinsel and bling.  I made a small tag to hang wishing a Merry Christmas.
Hope you enjoyed my wee sh…
