About A Girl Mini & a Coat Hanger

Hi everyone! Amy Prior here today to share a gorgeous Mini Album that I have created with a tonne of WOW Embossing Powders and all for my darling new baby niece...

This cute canvas album has been in my stash for quite a while and was perfect for this gift. I have primed the Canvas with Gesso and then using a Crafters Workshop Template I have inked with some Embossing Ink and Sprinkled over the top with Clear Regular WOW Embossing Powder. After the Embossing Powder was heated, the pattern was a great resist for some spritzes of Cherub Pink Glimmer Mist.

Checkout these super cute closeup details...

Gotta love the Build A Butterfly Stamp set from WOW Embossing Powder! Here I have embossed the stamped image with Opaque Bright White and then I have used some Ink with a Watercolor brush. A few pearls added the finishing touch to this gorgeous butterfly embellishment.

Now onto the pages. There is 12 pages in total in this album and I have created each one uniquely. All pages have been created using Masks/Screens/Stencils, Dylusions Ink Sprays & Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee Collection Papers & Embellishments. Of course as well as WOW Embossing Powders.

This first page has had the mask pattern embossed with Sour Lemon Suzy West Embossing Powder and some Pink Bubblegum Dylusions Ink Spray.

These pages have been created using Sour Lemon Embossing Powder & Gummi Bear Green. Both from the Suzy West "Candy Counter" Collection

These gorgeous bright pages have been created using a mixture of Magenta & Bubblegum and Cotton Candy Embossing Powders.

These super cute pages were created using the Suzy West Gummi Bear Green & WOW Magenta Embossing Powders.

Next up I have used the Cotton Candy Suzy West Embossing Powder on both these pages.

The first of these pages has been created using Gummi Bear Green Embossing Powder from Suzy West's Candy Counter Collection and a mixture of Bubblegum & Magenta.

Lastly is this super cute page using the Berrylicious Embossing Powder from the Suzy West "Candy Counter" Collection.

Another quick gift I created for my niece is this Coat Hanger.

The background has been created with some Patterned Paper from the Pink Paislee Spring Jubilee Collection. I have used a heart shaped mask and embossed a flourish heart with Opaque Bright White WOW Embossing Powder

I have then sprayed with some White Chalkboard Mist from Tattered Angels.

Another quick closeup to checkout all those yummy details.

Well that is it from me today! Thanks so much for looking and be sure to become a follower of our blog if you aren't already! We have an amazing inspiration team here at WOW and daily blog posts that will always WOW you!

BUT..... I followed all the rules this month...Swoon !!!
I've only gone and done a card (it's what time permitted) but I kept to the masculine theme and the Earthtone colours, it wasn't hard as I was using one of my all time favourite colours - Earthtone Olive... I LOVE this colour, I also thought it went rather nice with the Earthtone Blueberry and Earthtone paprika...all food associated - I'll put that down to coincidence LOL !!
I started off by cutting out a couple of stars, inked up an embossing folder with Versamark, laid the stars inside it and run it through the Cuttlebug, the Versamark transferred to the debossed part of the stars, apply Blueberry and heat set, I did get a little extra on there, but as this is for a man, the "distressed" look works
On the fold of the card I inked up one of the Funky Border Stamps and embossed it with Olive, added a scrap piece of card stock in a complimentary colour, then punched a scalloped card stock strip.
Little tip the strip is smaller than the ink pad, have the pad on the table and take the strip to it, rather than the other way, saves you getting ink all over the place...look at the state of my ink pad....that's disgusting !!!
I embossed this with the Paprika, another little tip, make the strip longer than needed, that way you can line it up to have even scallops, stick it down, then trim off excess.
Add a sentiment and a little bit of embossedness, attach the stars and there you have a quick and simple card.
I will leave you with my third and final tip... when attaching your bits... i.e. the sentiment, please make sure you don't have Paprika embossing powder on your finger, as it leaves a rather yucky smudgy look.... this takes the "distressed" look a little to far in my book.

A Favorite Technique

Happy Memorial Day everyone!!! I hope that everyone will take a moment to remember the brave men and women who have served and still are to protect us. It's because of them that we are able to spend today with our family and friends safe and secure!

Now.....on to business! One of my favorite ways to use the WOW powders is with embossing pens!!! It's so versatile and there is a color for everything!!! I thought I would do a card for today, so I found this vintage image. I just used embossing pens and colored in the drum. I also took a white button and embossed it red!! Just a couple of simple techniques, but I find myself doing it a lot lately!!!

Here is a close-up. I used the Cable Car Red from the By The Bay collection for the button. And then I used the regular Gold pale and Opaque bright white regular on the drum.

The jute trim and baker's twine is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I also used my trusty Zig markers for the faux stitching!!! The paper is all Moxxie's Hometown Celebration collection.

Last, I would like to sincerely apologize for the quality of these photos. My stupid card reader decided to die and these were taken with my phone! So please excuse them, and I am so sorry!!!!! Now, I hope you have a wonderful rest of your Holiday week-end!!!!

Embossing with Masks

Hello all,  Donna here today sharing with you one of my favorite technique with WOW Embossing Powder.  Today we are going to take a close up look at embossing with a mask.
So Lets get right to it.

Using a mask, ink up like a stamp with your VersaMark stamp pad.
Turn mask over and place where you would like image to go
Using a spare piece of paper and a roller, apply pressure to  to make to leave the Versa Mark ink on paper
Add your embossing powder to you project (I have used Earth tone Pepper)
Remove any extra powder with a brush
Heat with a heat gun and your done.
Here's a layout I have started, I have used it to make a boarder around my photo.
Here's a Layout I have completed using this technique
and some close ups,  I love how this effect gives added layers with out all the bulk
I have used Cotton Candy Embossing Powder for this layout
Here I have used the Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter Powder to make my title pop!  Embossing on chip board is very simple

Here's how you Emboss Chip Board
I like to color mine with distress ink,  any form of ink/ paint will work.  After I have added ink  I like to heat set it. then re-stamp with VersaMark
Add your embossing powder (Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter Powder )
remove any extra powder and pop back into your container
Heat with your heat gun,  and DONE!
 I love how these look.
Well that's all from me today,  I hope you have been popping back regularly as new posts go up each day and there is some AMAZING projects here.  Thanks for joining us!  Happy Scrappin everyone  .....  xox Donna aka Midnightscrapper

Father's Day Card with stencil embossing

Hiya all, it's Sarah here and I've created a Father's Day card using the Wow Earthtone powders that I wanted to share with you all.

Here are brief instructions on how to make (I used a blank pre-folded Square Card with a linen effect but and blank white card would work well with these colours):

Using clear ink, stamp the squares pattern from the Funky Border Stamp Set and sprinkle over Wow Blueberry Embossing Powder and set using a heat gun.

Glitter Girls are back in town!

Hello out there to all of you WOW lovers!

It is Team Glitter Girls, and we are back with another team post!

This month we all focused on making layouts, and we sure love how they turned out!

Let’s get down to business, and see what we did with all

the gorgeous powders we had in our hot little hands!

Our first layout was made by Jen Matott, and here is what she has to say about her layout.

“The white flowers are stamped and using the white embossing powder... it creates a resist technique that allows me to color over top without it sticking to the design!”

Such a great idea!  I love it!

Supply List:

WOW! Opaque Bright White Regular {WLO1R}

Versa Mark ink

Faber-Castell Gelatos

Prima papers and embellies

Next we have a darling layout from Benedicte!  It is beautiful!
I love how she used the doilee, and then layered the small tag on top of it!
Supplies Used:

Build a butterfly stamp

Brocade stamp set

Bay Area Blue Suzy West powders

Olive Suzy West powders

Cotton Candy Suzy West powders

Now let’s take a peek at what Amy did this month!

Let’s see what little tips she shared with us as well!

“I love cutting out shapes on my Silhouette Cameo. I also love using the negative space lately. For this layout I cut the sun out of the grey patterned paper and then instead of using the sun, I used the 12x12 paper for the layout. I took my Wow California Sunshine embossing powder and the brocade stamp and embossed on white cardstock and attached it to the back of the grey patterned paper, so the sun shines right through. I love the shininess of the embossed images. I then added some buttons, stitching and a title. I also used the border stamps from the Gratitude Stamp Set to border the outside edges of the layout. If you have never used negative space in a layout before, try it. Cut something fun and then emboss on white cardstock and attach so it shows through. I think you will really like this technique.”

Wow! Products Used:

Brocade Stamp
Gratitude Stamp Set
California Sunshine Embossing Powder

Let’s take a look at what Diana whipped up!

Are you noticing the trend of white space on these layouts?

I love it!

Diana Says,

”Lately it seems I am really going for a minimalist look. I am not using as much paper and white space is really inspiring me. I feel like it makes the photos and journaling the center of attention, which is important to me. On this layout, I used the Platinum Sparkle to emboss the arrow on the photo and I used the clear gloss to emboss the little birds that I punched with the Martha Stewart punch. I also embossed the little Maya Road wooden circle with white so that it would fit in with the white theme.”

Diana’s journaling reads: I love this moment. Grandpa Vanderburg came down to visit this spring and we had a wonderful time. All of you loved spending time together and sitting on his lap, especially Riley. Every time I loved over, you were by his side. I want this for you. I want you to be close and have a special relationship with him. Family is so important and I want you to know you are so loved by all of us.

Supplies: WOW Embossing Powder Clear Gloss Regular, Wow Embossing Powder Opaque Bright White Regular, Wow Embossing Powder Metallic Platinum Sparkle Embossing Glitter and WOW Brocade Stamp Set

Sure hope that these layouts inspire you to get out your heat guns,
and your powders, and get creative this weekend!
