"Texture Me" ATC's with Jessica Larios

Hello, again my beautiful crafty friends! I hope you all are doing well on this fine day. As you know I am a guest mixed media designer for WOW! Embossing Powder this month!! Yaaaass! I couldn't be more thrilled, seriously! This has been such an awesome experience. I've had a lot of fun experimenting with these powders, I can barely contain it! Today we will be playing around with multiple mediums to catch their results when using embossing powders. I must say, this was quite fun, you will begin to learn what kind of texture medium you want with different projects. Each medium provides a totally different look and finished product.

Let's have some fun and get the heat going!

1. Let's begin by using our different pastes through our chosen stencil
*One paste for each card*
WOW! Isn't that just a glorious sight to feast your eyes!?!

2. To give our backgrounds some color and life, we will add our embossing powders
I used a different powder for each card background Gold Pearl, Weathered Gold, Primary Bark
3. Heat set the embossing powders while the texture is still wet
*Hint: When the texture is still wet, the raised effect from the heat embossing is amazing
4. Let's emboss our dragonfly chipboard pieces using Pastel Yellow
5. Emboss your leaves flourishes next with some of that delicious Black Glint
6. To coincide with the black flourishes, distress the card edges using black ink
7. Begin layering all your elements starting with the flourishes, the large flowers, then the small ones
8. Gluing only the body of the half dragonflies, add them to the tops of their flowers
9. As your finishing touch, add some colored pebbles

Here are some close-ups for you to enjoy!

VIDEO| Three ways to add texture and shine

Hej and Welcome!

It's Martina here with you today, showing how I have created these three tags with texture and shine!

There is also a Video on the WOW! Youtube Channel: *just klick here to watch it*

-

For my first tag I have been doing the following:

Applying Texture Paste (I have been using "Schmincke Leichtstrukturpaste") through the stencil.

Pouring "Splash Embossing Glitter" over the freshly applied, still wet Texture Paste.

Making sure that everything is completely dry.

Slowly melting the Embossing Powder on top of the Texture Paste on the lower speed of the Heat Tool.

This gives you a nice layer of Embossing Powder on top of the raised texture!

For my second tag I have been following these steps:

Applying "Tacky when Dry" Medium throug the stencil.

Setting the tag aside to dry really well (the Medium gets clear when it is dry!).

Cutting a small piece of the "Ice Blue FabFoil"

Placing the FabFoil on the dry medium and stick the Foil to the Medium with the pressure of a brayer or finger.

Peeling off the Foil reveals the whole magic of this technique!

For my third Tag I have been doing following steps:

Using a blender brush to apply the WOW!Embossing Ink through the stencil.

Pouring "Bonding Powder" over the wet ink.

Cutting a piece of "Teal FabFoil".

Melting the Bonding Powder with the Dual Speed Heat Tool and pressing the FabFoil into the still warm Bonding Powder.

This can be repeated to create more coverage of the FabFoil on the Parts with Bonding Powder.

To finish the Tags, I have been using some Alexandra Renke Flower dies, which are coloured with Distress Oxides or Earth Sparkles.

The "Thank you" die is a Cathy Zielske for Simon Says Stamp die which I have been cutting from Cardstock. Some of the Die Cuts are still in plain white, some are coloured with the Distress Oxides and Earth Sparkles.

The stamped sentiments (and the gorgeous Stencils!) are from A Pocket Full of Happiness. I have stamped them onto vellum and heat embossed them with Opaque Bright White.

That's it for today!

I really hope you like these tags and feel inspired to get creative!

Have a nice Day, see you next time!

VIDEO | Gold Emboss Zentangle & Hand Lettering

Heat embossing is one of the most striking embellishments you can add to your cards, scrapbooking, and papercraft projects. Today, I demonstrate how to gold heat emboss a Zentangle® drawing and hand lettering.

Learn to heat emboss without stamping, hand lettering for beginners, and two easy Zentangle patterns in this short video tutorial. Watch here or in HD on YouTube. While you're there we'd love it if you like, subscribe, and share it with friends.

Zentangle

Zentangle is an easy to learn, relaxing, method of drawing repeating patterns. The patterns I've used today are shattuck and flux. Be sure to watch the video to learn these simple patterns. They look more complicated than they are.

Included in this design, is one of my first attempts at hand-lettering. Hi, is perfect for beginners like me.

Heat Embossing

Is easy to forget that you can heat emboss without stamping. Simply, draw a few lines and dots, and fill in the lettering with the WOW! Embossing Pen and heat emboss with Metallic Gold Rich.

For added dimension, add two to three layers of heat embossing to the hand lettering. Finish off the card with shading and highlights with a regular pencil and white charcoal pencil.

That's all for today. Thanks so much for joining me and I'll see you soon with more inspiraiton.
