VIDEO: Gingerbread Men embellished gift tags with Melt-it!

Hello, it's Verity with another video and blog post as a Creative team member for WOW! At the beginning of the month I was lucky enough to go to the creative craft show at the NEC in the UK, and whilst I was there I popped along to the WOW! Marion kindly gave me a one on one tutorial on using Melt-it and I knew I had to try it out for my self. I couldn't resist a silicone mould that had little gingerbread men and thought they would make fun embellishments for gift tags. So today, I'm showing you how easy Melt-it! is.

Faux Enamel Technique by Jaine

Originally, many years ago, I studied interior design and one of my passions was creating faux finishes. Basically, I altered anything which didn't move and became a little obsessed by creating illusions. One thing led to another and by the time I'd discovered embossing powders I was already experimenting with what I could do with it.

One of my favourites was to create embellishments to look like they'd been enamelled. It really is super easy to do and the result is beautiful.

You'll need a fairly sturdy base for this as it involves lots of layers of embossing, so from some thick card cut a shape like a square or oval, something with a lot of surface area.

Give this 3 coats at least of plain Bonding Powder to build up a nice thick layer.

Go over this layer one more time with Bonding Powder but using a palette knife to drop two or three colours of powder onto this. I used Primary Bluetiful, Heather and Gold here. Heat it up to melt the powder definitely heating from und…

Rainbow Ornament Card with Dana

Hello, everyone!

It's Dana from Dana G. Crafts and I'm so excited to be sharing my first card here as a WOW! Design Team member. As you know, our monthly theme is 'rainbow' and I used various techniques for my rainbow card today.

To begin, I pulled out A2 sized bristol paper and ink blended it with rainbow colors of distress oxide inks. I then die cut several circles from black card stock as shown.

I stamped some geometric images from Sparkle & Shine Stamp Set with Embossing Ink and sprinkled Metallic Gold Rich Pale Embossing Powder and heat set each of them.

Then, I applied anti-static powder to black card stock and drew some lines using Embossing Pen and ruler. I heat embossed them using same embossing powder with ornament images.

I also heat embossed 'happy everything' sentiment from Studio Katia Birthday Greetings stamp set beside the bottom-left ornament.

Next, I started to make my own embellishments with embossing powders using melting technique. It&#…

Wild about you - a card by Riikka

Hello everyone! Are you excited about the new products? I know I am! I just love the Metalline Powders, they have such a gorgeous shine! In this card I created to you with a tutorial I mixed some of the newbies to some of the oldies and I really like how the card turned out!

For the blooms I used the "Metalline Perfect Plum" and "Primary Parma Violet" as well as Melt-It Powder. For the background I used both "Metalline Greengage" and "Hero" embossing glitter together with gel medium. And do you know what I learned? That if you really quickly show the heat tool to the Melt-It shapes, you get the shine back! But do you want to know just how I made the card? Please see the tutorial below!

Step 1. I started by making the embellishments. I used the "Metalline Perfect Plum" and "Primary Parma Violet" for the colors and mixed them with the Melt-It Powder. The mold is "Pansy". I also made some little drops which I then la…
