Knitting on Repeat with Gemma

Today I have a card to share using this month’s theme of ‘Repeat Patterns’. I’m using the WOW Simply Sew stamp set, teaming it with WPlus9 Knit Patterns stamp set to create my repeat pattern background.

I began by cutting a piece of blue cardstock to slightly smaller than my A2 notecard base.
Using a stamp positioner, I repeatedly stamped one of the larger images from the WPlus9 Knit Patterns stamp set over the background, using WOW clear embossing ink, then heat embossing with WOW Metalline Blue embossing powder. This opaque powder shows up beautifully on dark cardstock.

Once I’d embossed the whole panel, I used the Lawn Fawn Just Double Stitching rectangle die set to add some more detail to the panel. I then adhered it to my white card base.
Next, I die cut two tags using the Hello Bluebird Stitched Tag Builder die set. I embossed a sentiment from the WOW Simply Sew stamp set using the same Metalline Blue embossing powder. I used some silver coloured thread to tie the tags together…

Rainbow Stencil Stripes with Gemma

Rainbows always make a fun birthday card. For my card today, I’ve used a rainbow of embossing powders with a stripes stencil to create my background.

I added embossing ink to a line, removed the stencil, then embossed with one of the rainbow colours. I repeated this process until all lines were embossed. This does take a little time but I love the results.

I adhered the embossed panel to my card, then worked on the other elements for my card.
For my sentiment, I stamped a greeting from the Pretty P…

Hooray for Summer!...

Hello there!

I missed you all last month!  Please accept my apologies for my absence.

This month's theme is 'Summer' and I don't know about you, but I'm sure glad it's finally arrived!  I love the sunshine and the happiness it seems to invoke in everyone.

My project for this month is, unsurprisingly, a card!  It's also that time of year when Father's Day is fast approaching so I took this opportunity to get one of the cards I need to have made.

When I think Summer, I think beach, I think blue skies and crystal blue sea so I decided to go with it. Out came the Distress Inks and I set about creating a background, which hopefully is reminiscent of a beach scene with light clouds in the sky just above the horizon of a clear blue sea...yes, I do need a holiday!!
I then stamped the wide 'dotty' border from Funky Border Strips in VersaMark ink and lightly sprinkled Primary Lagoon embossing powder over it, ensuring not to cover the pattern completely.  To ge…
