Ombré Glitter Die Cut Words with Ankita

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a card I made using Neutral Ultra Shimmer Powder and Metallic Gold Rich Regular Embossing Powder from WOW.
To start, I stamped the image which is from Concord and 9th Wonderful Florals onto a piece of black cardstock  using WOW Embossing Ink and heat embossed using the Metallic Gold Rich Super Fine embossing powder from WOW. I colored the flowers in using Faber Castell Polychromos pencils. I trimmed the panel down to 3.75 inches by 5 inches.
On a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock, I ink blended Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey and added a layer of Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Powder onto it and die cut the word Wonderful from it.
I foam mounted the letters on the panel. I layered it with some orange cardstock and fall patterned paper from Lawn Fawn and added some natural twine.
I mounted the entire panel on an A2 sized top folding cardbase made from Neenah Solar White Classic Crest 110 lb cardstock.

That's all for this card. I hope you lik…

Winter Hopes

Hi Everyone

This month at WOW HQ is 'Winter' and I have designed a card for the New Year in a blue theme.

I have used a 6 x 6 card and started by inking up some of the butterfly resist paper with distress inks.  I then cut this to cover half of the card.

I then used a stamp from Sparkle and Shine, stamped this out multiple times onto blue coloured card stock and heat embossed with Atlantic Seaspray embossing powder. I then punched out circles around the stamp and cut the embossed circle in half.  I then glued the half circles onto the bottom half of the card.

I then used a bow around the middle of the card to cover the division between circles and butterflies.

I then die cut a Spellbinder scallop circle out of dark blue card then stamped with Versamark the words
for - then - now - & - tomorrow from the 'Express Yourself' stamp set, heat setting with Vanilla White embossing powder.

I wish you all a lovely New Year and hope that all your dreams come true.

Memories of Disney….

Hi Everyone

As I was sat on my sun lounger on holiday I was reflecting on holidays spent with our daughter.  You see this was the first time without her - she preferring the bright lights and thumping sounds of Aya Napa to being with her parents.  So I created this for  WOW HQ this month.
I have chosen to go back in time to 2007 when my family and I went to Disney World.  Our daughter loved (and still does) MINNIE MOUSE even though she is 18 years old now!

I started by cutting out some die cuts from different scrap pieces of card stock and vellum: Marianne Designs, Spellbinders,Sue Wilson, Sizzix and Tattered Lace.I then inked and heat set  some of them up with Versamark and used the following embossing powders: New-Daytona Sands, New-Atlantic Spray, New-Long Island Teal, Bark Ebony, Pepper and Copper Pearl. The 12 x 12 card stock, I firstly sprayed with Dylusion sprays and let it dry. I then took the embossed  die cuts and arranged them on the page. The stamp 'SMILE' is taken f…

DT Inspired

Hello there!

I hope this finds you all week and that you're enjoying our month CASE-ing!  I love being inspired by all of the fabulous talent in the blogosphere - and the WOW! Design Team is absolutely teeming with it, so what better place to get inspiration!?!

I have chosen a card by the wonderful Nicole Picadura.  I love Nicole's style it's fun and fresh, CAS but with a hint of freestyle collage magic - what's not to love?!!

After trawling her amazing blog, I chose this card to CASE...

Isn't it stunning?!!!

You will notice that I loved this card so much that my CASE is very literal!!!

I created my own version of Nicole's gorgeous watercolour background by dabbing Distress Inks directly onto the front of the card and then spritzing it with water.  This created nice, but unexpected, splashes over the rest of the card front.

I then stamped the words 'Live, Love and Laugh' from the Collage stamp set and heat embossed them in Opaque Bright White, Primary Ebony Su…

Mixed Media Canvas Wall Art

Embossing powders can color almost any material that can take the heat.
I am not naturally inclined toward mixed media but I have tried a couple of canvas projects with my WOW embossing powders, and I came up with one I like.

This year's trend of home state shapes in everything from jewelry to decor inspired me to add a California piece to the beach themed guest bath.
I taped off strips on an 8"x8" canvas and inked the canvas with clear Versamark ink one stripe at a time. I heat set regular gold embossing powder to these stripes.
After heat embossing, I removes the tape then used a shade of yellow to paint the alternating canvas stripes.
For the state shape, i used a template to cut out California's outline from thin cardboard. I inked the shape then used ultra high copper, 2 layers, to emphasize the shape. This was adhered to the canvas with strong wet glue.
My Golden state creation was fun to make and looks great on the wall!

One Stamp, two ways ~ A Little Card Magic

Hello and welcome to WOW EMBOSSING BLOG.  This months theme is One stamp, two ways.  I have created a special card to give as a gift.   The stamp set I have used is Vintage wallpaper,  it would be one of my favourite WOW Stamps and can be used for so much.  I love using it as a background.
Vintage Wallpaper stamp
I stamped a piece of white card stock with my stamp and then added white embossing powder.  This created a white on white effect that I could use as a resist.  I got some colour sprays and strayed my paper over the embossed area.  While the spray was still wet I got a wet wipe and swiped over the embossed area to take of any of the excess spray.

I used a second piece of card stock and again embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper stamp,  this time I used a contrasting colour, cut my paper to size to fit my die and cut out some pine cone swirls which makes stunning wee roses.

I cut some leaves to go with my roses.

I made the roses an…

Garden Magic

Hello and welcome back to WOW Embossing Powders.  This months challenge is GARDEN!  I wish I could say I had a stunning garden full of veggies and stunning flowers but I don't. Graphic 45 have some stunning papers and one of my favourite ranges is secrete garden which I thought would perfectly for this months project.
I have used the new 6 by 4 canvas and made a wee garden scene.  I stated by covering the whole canvas with a background paper and added layers.

I embossed the entire edge with Opaque Vanilla White  regular and inked over top with vintage photo distress ink.  To bring the vanilla white back to the top I wiped over the embossed area and removed the ink that was lying on top which left only ink in the paper areas.

I cut my images out of paper and then turned them all over and embossed the backs of them.  I did this to stiffen up my images that I am going to be layering.  I used the same vanilla white knowing that some of the embossing powder will sneak around and s…
