Floral Cards with Jeannie

Hi! My name is Jeannie Lieu and I’ve been card making for about 4 years now. For me, card making is about creating for fun and having a creative outlet. I work a 9-5 job and came home exhausted. Now, I look forward to coming home to do something as simple as color. When I'm creating, I forget about my worries. One of my favorite things to do is surprising my friends and family with cards. In the age of technology, I personally love getting snail mail and I think everyone enjoys getting snail mail instead of an impersonal text message or even an e-card.  *********** ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓ Hi crafty friends! My name is Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) and I’m so excited to be guest designing for Wow! Embossing Powder for this month. I'll be sharing a variety of different cards using embossing powders in different ways to create cards so I hope you enjoy them. For my first post, I'm sharing three cards that are created strictly with just embossing powders.

VIDEO: Three Ways to Use an Embossing Pen with Jenny Colacicco

Do you have the WOW! Embossing Pen?  Even if you do, do you know what to do with it? Well, if you have been wondering, I can help. I have three different ways to use the embossing pen in today's post and for me it was a game changer.  I've had the pen for a while and just never picked it up except to maybe add a dot of ink where I hadn't fully heat embossed. The techniques I'll show you today (and there's a video!) will make this pen a must have tool in your craft room!

My cards also feature the newly released Gemstone Trio embossing glitters (and some other recently released powders now available).

I'm going to show you how I created these three cards, all of which feature a different way to use the pen - you can watch the video below or over on the WOW! Embossing You Tube channel (and be sure to hit subscribe while you're over there!

Highlighting Dry Embossing
For my first card, I used the pen to highlight some areas on a dry embossed background.  This is…

Glitzy Dry Embossed Background with Jenny Colacicco

Hi Everyone! It's Jenny here, and today I have a super glitzy background focused card to share with you!  I often like to combine geometric and modern backgrounds with soft florals.  I really love the juxtaposition between the two.  Today I focused on a soft blue pallette to set agains the glam background.

I first took an A2 panel of black cardstock and swiped it with the WOW! Embossing ink pad all over.  I then completely heat embossed the panel with gorgeous Silent Night embossing powder.  It's a beautiful mix of blacks and silver powders to give an almost industrial silver look.  Completely gorgeous in real life.

I decided to dry emboss the panel with a geometric embossing folder.  As I only had done one layer of powder, this worked really well, with no cracking.  Those geometric patterns (from a WRMK folder) really catch the light!

I then heat embossed this floral image from My Favorite Things, in Opaque Bright White embossing powder onto Bristol Smooth cardstock. I colo…
