Christmas ornaments with WOW

I decided to make some of the salt dough ornaments that I have seen popping up all over pinterest lately.  They were easy enough to make just make sure they are completely dry before doing anything with them.  I wanted them a little bit whiter so I put  on a few layers of bright  white fine embossing powder.  I stamped a tree in the dough and it left a nice imprint when it dried.  It was from the deck the halls stamp set and for the star I used the WOW embossing pen and hand wrote the word joy.  The possibilities are endless, I can't wait to get them all done and on the tree.  I will post  more pictures when I get them all up.   Jenifer

I'll Keep You Warm! - A Wintery Tag

Hello! Birgit here today with a wintery tag. The tag itself comes from the Prima Tag Pad. I stamped it with Versamark and the "ME Blizzard" stamp and then embossed it with White Twinkle Embossing Glitter The impression is not perfect but I actually like that because it gives a more distressed look. Then I sprayed it with pink and purple spray paint. The embossed parts resist the paint but you need to dap off the excess paint. I added a few drops of IZINK Gold at the top of the tag and sprayed a little water on it while holding the tag upright. Let the IZINK run down. The angel wings were painted with the same color. The heart was cut from cardboard and the top layer peeled off. I painted it with IZINK Opaline and little bit Gold. Then I added some Versamark on top and embossed it with Magical Mauve Embossing Glitter. Finally I drew some little black circles and colored them in with a white pen. The tag was finished with some Prima sequin flowers and a

Christmas Countdown....

Hello all,  boy it's the beginning of crazy season!  Only 30 more sleeps my kids have informed me.  So with that in mind a made a project to help me remember how many more days, cause apparently I need reminding several times a day!  So I decided to make a Christmas countdown.  I used  an old boxed frame from the op shop and covered it all in YUMMY Graphic 45 papers and then cut out the words on my silhoutte,  I love subway art I believe it is called.  After I cut it out I double embossed each letter with the totally DELISH WOW  RUBY ROMANCE embossing glitter.  Put them in the sticker maker and then applied to my project. Here is a close up of the words,  I so wish I knew how to get a better pic of all the sparkle. I made this tree,  the idea came from pinterest, but I must say that they always make it look so easy!  Not what I had in my mind but it still looks cool.  I have cut the star out and embossed it with WOW TWINKLE embossing glitter.

A Christmas Star

Hi there, Nikki here to share my Christmas inspiration with you. I thought I would make a decoration for my Christmas tree using up all those  scraps of paper that I seem to have collected over the year. So this is what I made, I made lots and lots of little flowers from all my scraps and then glued them onto a polystyrene star. Then I inked the whole star and covered it with gold embossing powder. ...... This gave a really pretty edging to all the flowers - I really like this effect and it reflects the lights from the Christmas tree beautifully.... Are you all ready for Christmas? WOW! Embossing Powders make a lovely stocking filler for all your crafty friends - pop on over to the shop (you will find some fab stamps, foils and silicone moulds too!!!!!). Happy crafting Nikki x

Hi! It's Sandie here today with a little WOW! Embossing inspiration. Following along with our theme this month, Christmas and/or Winter , I have made a Winter tag.  To create the background I started with some blue snowflake paper and added a thin layer of gesso over most of it. Then I added some mesh and more gesso. Using a stencil and modelling paste I added some bubbles.  For the snowflakes I first embossed them with Clear Gloss and then some Mojave. I coloured the tree with a green copic marker (G21) and then spritzed it with Kiwi Glimmer Mist, dried it off with a heat gun and then embossed it with Clear Gloss.  I sprinkled some Nice Ice Blue and Mojave onto mod podge and heat embossed it so that the powders melted into the mod podge.  I stamped the sentiment onto white card with Memento black ink and then cut the letters apart. I adhered them with mod podge and then put a thick layer of glossy accents over them. Finally, I inked the edges

Chalk it up to Experience

Hi Everyone At  WOW HQ  this month is Christmas/Winter and have taken a technique from Tim Holtz and give it a WOW twist using WOW products to see if there was any difference. I firstly took a tag in black and stamped out NOEL from the  Deck the Halls set in Versamark on the Tag, then heat set with Sparkling Snow embossing powder. I then stamped out all 3 trees twice each from the set in Versamark and sprinkled over it Clear Matt Dull embossing powder and heat set.  Now as you can see from the top right two pictures, as you are heating it it looks glossy but within seconds it goes a Matt dull colour. I then got a piece of children's chalk and rubbed this over the trees.  Then with my finger rubbed the chalk into the cardstock.  The result is the raised embossed tree dulled like a shadow. Top left and middle left picture. I then played devil and re heated the trees.  The embossing powder came to the top and the chalk effect went into the background

Spruce up a Wreath with Wow Embossing Powders

Hi again -  Chris here with another project for you - A Christmas Wreath. For  this months's theme I have made a wreath to hang indoors this Christmas. I treated myself to an early Christmas present - some leaf Dies for my machine so thought I would see what they turned out like if you embossed them.  I used a colour scheme that would match my decor and my Christmas theme this year of browns, copper and golds.   I embossed a variety of leaves with various sparkle and gold powders to add a bit of bling to the piece and make it look more Christmassy. To make the wreath, cut out a circle of cardboard and cover it with a variety of cut out leaves in your chosen colour sheme.. I used a glue gun to stick them on for speed as ordinary PVA takes ages to dry.   I then embossed some of the leaves with gold, , copper metallic and Sahara powder from the Desert Sands set. Once your wreath is covered with the plain leaves, add the embossed leaves on top to give your wreath some Christm

Winter flowers

Hi everyone Over at  WOW HQ  is the theme 'Winter'  and I have called it  ‘Back to the Fuchsia’ but obviously the title is Future (a little play on words) I firstly covered a tag with backing paper then inked with black  soot distress ink around the edge. I then used a Creative Expression stamp called 'Fuchsia' and stamped this on the tag and 2 times on black card with versamark then heat set with WOW ebony embossing powder. I then coloured them in with watercolour pencils and cut them out 3d'ing them on the tag. I then added the berries on a wire. The wording is from an alphabet stamp I have and the word  FUCHSIA  is heat set with WOW ebony embossing powder. I then added Flower Soft polar white flakes on the branches and flowers to give a wintry feel. Have a lovely week Sue

Glittering Christmas place settings

I have had a set of cheap glass plates for about 10 years now and always wanted to do something with them. The Christmas theme this month was the sign. I wanted to make fancy place settings! After some experimenting (read ugly and disasters galore) I tried out Salt & Pepper from the Sugar & Spice set . Oh WOW..... that worked  a dream. Here is how you do it: Spray glass plate with spray adhesive and sprinkle on embossing powder Place plate in pre-heated oven for 5 minutes at 150 C Take out an let cool Admire gorgeousness  I used Salt & Pepper which has a really nice black sheen, Spearmint Sparkle which is sophistication pure and Aniseed which is the red colour you can see in the pictures. This is the spearmint sparkle decorated with a die cut. You can adapt them completely to your own colour scheme.  The initial idea was to paint on the glass plates with embossing powders and I will take that idea up again when I have more time. Here is

Winter projects made easy with WOW!

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here and this month I am going to show you my winter projects made with mostly bare  chipboards and a LOT of embossing powders. Those are easy made projects and all you need are a couple of Tando Creative chipboards and a lot of white/blue/glitter WOW!  powders. So here is a first of the projects: altered chipboard snowflake ornament.  It comes as 2 separate bare chipboards that you connect into this 3d gorgeous ornament. First you need to cover them with some white paint. After a couple of experiments I found that white pigmented ink (Frosty White from Clearsnap) is the best white coverage you can get that is fantastic for heat embossing without  clear ink over the paint. So cover both shapes from both sides with a think white pigmented ink layers and then cover them with a mix of all possible blue powders. The powders I used here are Nice Ice Blue , Opaque Primary Azure , Opaque Pastel Blue , Fluorescent Blue and Blue Blast. The  mix
