Busy Bees with Heather

Hello everyone... Heather here again with some more inspiration for you using the wonderful WOW! products.
For today's make, I've used a gorgeous Jo Firth Young stamp set from PaperArtsy which is so happy and the images are just so lovely to stamp with.
I started by stamping the images using the fabulous slow drying embossing pad from WOW! onto watercolour card.  For the bees, bee hive and hexagons I've used Metallic Copper Regular and for the tiny hexagons I've used Earthtone Honey.  Having heat embossed all the images, I've then coloured them using watercolours and added a touch of Tonic Nuvo's Aqua Shimmer for some subtle shimmer.
Before adding the images to the background card, I die-cut the corners from both tag and card using a Tim Holtz's Thinlets set and backed with vellum.  This just adds a different focal point to the card.
The gorgeous yellow background was made using Distress Oxide Ink Pads and I've even dripped some of the goo from the Mixed Me…

Bundled Up Trio with Heather

Hello everyone...
Heather here once more and today I'm using the beautiful new Catherine Pooler trio Bundled Up.
I've used one of the new Visible Image stamps for this make, Total Chaos, as it's big and 'in your face' and the colours of the Bundled Up trio were perfect for the watery effect I wanted. This gorgeous sparkly trio, has some quite large glittery flakes in it so give it a bit of a shake before using.
I stamped the large flower head 3 times and one full flower onto watercolour card using the Peppermint Scrub embossing powder.  Make sure you heat from underneath to start with so the larger flakes don't fly away and once they've begun to melt, you can transfer the heat to the top of the image.

Once heat set, you can add your colour; I chose to use pinks and oranges as I love the colour combination with cool blues and greens. Trim the different layers of the flower and adhere together using foam tape.

Heat emboss the two smaller flowers using the Skyl…

VIDEO - Quick and Easy Christmas Cards with Jenny

I hope you've all been enjoying our Christmas themed month in October and are getting inspired by some of the xmas gorgeousness coming from the Creative Team - I know I certainly have!

I have three more Christmas cards today - these focus on being quick and easy to make, and would be perfect for mass producing.  I also created a video showing you just how easy these are to make.  You can check it out here and over on the WOW! YouTube channel.

Heat embossing always adds a special something to cards, especially when the recipient isn't a crafter and doesn't know how it was done!  For extra impact but keeping the cards easy, I like to pair bright colored cardstock with opaque embossing powders (so they show up), and then add a bold heat embossed sentiment.

The fun thing about this is that you can use almost any background stamp you have and any sentiment.  You can even mass produce but keep some variety by changing the embossing powder or the background color cardstock.
