Hi Everyone   This month at WOW HQ we have asked to give you ideas on foils.   You need a laminator for this project as it is one of the alternative methods to use with foils instead of the heat gun. Firstly I washed some watercolour paints onto a piece of cardstock then dried it off with the heat gun.   I then stamped the stars from the new stamp set 'LET IT SNOW' over the paint with Versamark and then sprinkled bonding powder over this.  I then heat set the stars.  This goes transparent.   Cut a piece of the green foil strip to cover the stars, and place colour upwards over them.  I then took a piece of wax paper (the type you use for die cutting) and placed this over the card and foil.  I then fed the card through the laminator.   Peel everything off the card and you are left with the foiled stars and the wax from the paper has transfered to the background of the card, giving a rippled effect.  I then stamped the 'Merry Christmas' in

Pick 'n Mix and Sparkle & Shine (Giveaway closed)

Hi! This is Maya typing, today I want to share a video I made talking a bit about the two new stamp sets that I designed for WOW's September release. But first I wanted to show you a project I made using the stamps. The sets are called Pick 'n Mix and Sparkle & Shine and I used both for this project. Since the theme for the September challenge is foil I made sure to use some fab foil on the card too. Here's how I made it.  I started out by embossing one of the stamps from Sparkle & Shine many times to make a background, I used Opaque white embossing powder for this. Then I added AquaTints that is a liquid water based ink on top to make a gradient. The embossing powder resists the ink and will make a pretty background. Just buff off any ink from the embossing using a cloth or piece of paper. The hugs is a foiled die cut. I used Word to draw up a black rectangle covering a full sheet of paper and printed it on my laser printer. An ink jet will not work sinc

Guest Design Team Post - Laura Sterckx! ✮✮ Giveaway CLOSED ✮✮

Hello everyone! It's Laura Sterckx here from . I am thrilled to be doing a guest post for WOW! since they are close to my heart. I have worked with the WOW products for a couple of years now and I simply love them! :) In today's post I am sharing two cards and two videos!  In the first video I am creating a modern card using  the Flights of Fancy stamp set  along with some  white  and  clear embossing powder . Hello Card Video The Flights of Fancy set  is simply stunning. I love the versatility of this set since you can use these images as feathers and leaves. First I heat embossed the leaves/feathers using white embossing powder.  The Opaque Bright White embossing powder  is my favorite one, by the way. After heat setting the powder, I did some simple masking with painters tape. I chose a modern color scheme and sticked to  pink ,  purple  and  mint . I like to use Distress Inks for the blending but regular dye ink works great as w

Goofing Around Fall Layout

Welcome Wow fans, this is Jenifer here with you today to share a fun layout with you today using some of the new stamp sets that just came out this month.  I used the new flights of fancy stamp set to create these fun leaves on my layout.  I used the glitter foil and a few shades of Embossing powders to give my leaves a wonderful sparkly effect. It was hard getting a good close up of the different leaves.  As you can see on the first leaf I used the foil and the next couple I used the Chocolate Caramel Pearl and all the way to the right I used Daytona Sands.  I love how it all just sparkles and shines making this a perfect Fall layout. Shiny Happy Card By Trish Latimer

Hello! I thought I'd challenge myself to create something totally out of my comfort zone... a clean and simple card! I think I nearly managed it....  OK, so I did do a little messy painty smearing for the panel across the middle, but there is still a big bit of white space around it, so that counts doesn't it?! I added sprinkles of black ultra high powder to the splattery details.. The theme on the blog this month is foil, so this is what I've done with my die cut word. Very difficult to capture the high shine in a picture, but this is super shiny silver in real life! I cut the word from cardstock covered with adhesive sheet. I simply peeled away the backing paper, then pressed the foil down onto it. Such an easy way of  achieving that amazing shine! Have a great day everyone!
