Simply Amazing Layout

Welcome Wow fans this is Jenifer here with you today to share my layout that I made the fantastic sketches.  I decided to do a monochromatic layout using white and yellow and I just LOVE how it turned out.

I centered my layout around this pretty picture of a flower that I had taken years ago and it was just itching to be scraped.

I embossed opposite corners with the Sexi Hexi Stamp and the Sunny Yellow embossing powder.  I used a little bit of texture paste to give my layout a little more dimension.

I used the Lace Stamp with Bright White Embossing Powder then using a yellow water color I colored over the top and then cut around the image.

Sketch Challenge: By Trish

I'm so proud of myself I can't tell you.... not a mucky fingerprint in sight, and this is the first attempt! My CAS skills are getting better!

As you can probably tell, this is my take on the second sketch. I've painted 1 large wooden heart and 4 small ones with red paint, then embossed them. The large heart has been embossed with red glitter, the others with regular Primary Red powder. I love the different effect...

The texture as well as the glitter shows up really well next to he simple shine of the regular powder!
I might have to try this CAS lark more often!
Have a fab day,
Trish xxxx

"Take the Journey Card"

Hi all

Here's my post based on one of this month's lovely sketches by Nikki Smith.

For this card I used a Die-cut Heart  and embossed it with Vintage Peacock powders then stuck some adhesive sheet onto the back and re-embossed the heart with Opaque Primary Azure, this then filled in the gaps in between the embossed shapes.

The sentiments were embossed with Vintage Peacock as well and taken from the  " Collage "  stamp set. I also used the "Lace" stamp for the background.

I added a couple of Die cut swirls and dots around the heart and card to finish and the little Butterflies were embossed with Seafoam white powders.

It's so much easier working with a sketch, especially if you have lost your crafting mojo. A great base to start from.

If you were expecting to see Nikki's post - Iv'e added mine a little early as Nikki is unwell at present. Get better soon Nikki as we love to see your fantastic creations. xx

Make a Wish - May Sketch Challenge

Hi! It's Sandie here today and I am sharing my take on this month's challenge, which is to follow one of the sketches below.

I chose to follow the top left sketch and this is what I came up with

I used my papers, which are Sweet Pea from Kaisercraft, to create the layout of the sketch and then stamped lightly over the dotty paper with the De-Vine clear stamp and Brushed Corduroy distress ink.  I then cut a stitched oval from another designer paper and finally a cardstock oval on which I stamped my sentiment from the Make a Wish clear stamp set.

Also from the Make a Wish set, I embossed a butterfly using Gold Satin Pearl powder. I trimmed it out using a scissors and added some gold pearl pen down the 'spine' of the butterfly.

I die cut some flourishes from cream cardstock and embossed them with Chartreuse powder. I layered on my flourishes and flowers and finished off by adding some more of the gold pearl pen and some cream pearls to the flourishes.

Birthday Balloons

I really liked the sketches for this months theme, I decided to use the second one as soon as I saw it. It reminded me of Sian's card that I was inspired by for my February post. At first I wanted to make something similar because I really loved the design but then I got another idea. Instead of the rectangles I wanted to use the placement of the elements and text as my inspiration. I diecut some balloons and covered them in embossing glitter twice and topped it with a couple of layers of clear embossing powder to make them shiny and thick. I lightly airbrushed some clouds behind the balloons, you can barely see it but up close it shows up a bit better and it made the balloons look as if they belonged there. I finished off with some gold string and gemstones for more bling.
I hope you are inspired to create something from the sketches, I'm looking forward to seeing your creations!

Make a Wish....

Hi Everyone

This month is SKETCH time!

Click here to enter our current challenge and win some Wow! Embossing Powders!!

I have chosen number 1.  I Started with a black card and used 'Make a Wish' flowers as a background with London Fog ink from Memento.

I then used Tim Holt's die cuts of a cogg, a ticket and used Spellbinder ' Timeless Rectangle for the layer underneath the ticket.

I covered the rectangle with Versamark then heat set with the new Chocolate Caramel Pearl embossing powder.  I stamped the cogg with  'Cracked leather' stamp and Versamark and heat set with Ebony embossing powder.  Then fully covered it with Versamark again and heat set with the Chocolate Caramel Pearl.  The image of the cracked leather shows through.

The tickets I stamped with versamark and  the 'Express Yourself'' words. 'Make a wish' came from the  'Make a Wish' stamp set.  I then inked with distress inks and added again a soft background of the butterfly and small flower from the Make a Wish set with London fog ink again.

How you have a great month deciding which sketch to use - or be bold and use all four of them.

Take care

Card with a Sketch! And Rainbows too!!!

Hi, it's Patti and I have created a card with one of the sketches for this month, and I incorporated some colors of the rainbow as well!!!

Here is the finished card.

Here is a closeup.

I chose to use the first sketch of the four.

First I chose my colors and gathered supplies!!!

I used four colors of Embossing Glitter with the gorgeous Tropical stamp. I used matching colors of Metallic cardstock. I also used the Build a Butterfly stamp set and embossed in vellum with the Frozen Berries Embossing Glitter.  I added a few blooms and three leaves using the Autumn Leaves mold set with mixed shades of green powder and Melt-It. I stamped the title from the With Love stamp set with the Opaque Bright White powder and cut and matted it into a circle.

I really like how the Embossing Glitter looks on the Metallic paper, it turned out really pretty. It is much sparklier in person!!!

I hope you try one of all of the sketches this month, it was a lot of fun!!!! Can't wait to see what you all create!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and please be sure to check back!!!

Enjoy with Irit and WOW! sketch

Hello my dear crafty friends! Today I share a card made with WOW! Embossing powders May sketch. Actually we have 4 different sketches, so this is just one I loved and used for my card.

The basic card is a vellum one. The second layer is the black glitter cardstock. Then I stamped De-Vine stamp using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with  Bright White Super fine powder.
As the next step I used 4 Gelatos to color the background  under the stamped image and wiped the surface with a baby wipe, so the white image stayed non colored.
Then the whole stamped piece was inked again with the same clear ink and I  heat embossed it all over with Clear  Gloss embossing powder.

The whole double embossed piece was cut to fit the sketch and my card base and glued with 3d foam glue.
I added the sentiment and a few more puffy stickers to make this finished card that is good for anyone and for any occasion.
It's your time to play with our sketches and even to win some great products!
