A Little Love for February

Hi guys! It's Sandie here with a card I made following our February theme, which is

I made a simple Black and White card and added splashes of purple and red.

I used the Love Beyond Measure stamp set, stamped out the LOVE with Dusty Concorde distress ink and heat embossed with Clear Gloss embossing powder. I stamped out the entwined hearts, which are also in the set, with Fired Brick ink. Then I cut it out using Nestabilities labels dies.

To embellish I added a large Prima flower, some rose buds and flowers I made using the Melt-It Powder and powder from the Sugar n Spice kit

WOW! Products Used:

I also want to share a card I made for last month's theme, which was ICE & SNOW, but due to my dodgy internet connection it didn't make the blog. It does have the word LOVE on it so I guess it ties nicely with this month's theme ;)

For the background I used the Blizzard stamp on white card and heat embossed it using Clear Matt powder, then I sponged it with Tumbled Glass Distress inks. I used the same technique for the words, which are from the Collage clear stamp set

I took the rose from the Simply Amazing stamp set and heat embossed it twice, layering one on top of the other with 3D foam for some dimension. To complete the card I added some baker's twine to the sentiments and flower centre.

Today is the last day to enter our monthly challenge for your chance at winning 12 embossing powders. Check out all of the details HERE

Thanks for dropping by!

We belong together!

Hello! Birgit here bringing you some love today!

It's still february, month of love and romance and I want to share with you a simple but fun card.

To create the hearts I first made a gelli plate print, stamping into red acrylic paint using the Vintage Wallpaper stamp. This way you create a mirror image of the stamp. After die cutting the hearts with Sizzix Movers and Shapers - mini hearts set I covered them with Versamark and embossed them with 3 layers of Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.

The hearts were bound togehter with wire and adhered to the card using 3D Foam Squares.

Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Keep Your Eyes on the Stars..

Hi Everyone,

I hope that your week is off to an amazing start. I just came back from a fun retreat that I went to this weekend with Suzy West and we had a fun time together embossing with WOW!

I just picked up the new CHA embossing glitters, and let me tell you they are fabulous! For my layout I played with Campri & Soda, and Mojave. Totally in love with them both.

A lot of Love with WOW!

Hello, my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again and this month we challenge you to make Love projects.
Also Valentine Day is over for this year, but I want to share my Valentine Mixed Media project made with WOW! Embossing Powders and Tando Creative chipboards.

First I covered all  bare grey chipboards with white pigmented ink (Clearsnap) and let them dry a lot. Then I covered them with  Cardinal Red, Apple Red and Pink Pastel embossing powders and I made it 3 times over each embossed chipboard. Then I added a thick layer of Clear embossing powder over them and the mix of hot melted powders gave us this unique look. Braille powder has been formulated to raise to the exact height that allows braille text to be read. Also used by Crafters for jewellery decoration by melting it in a pot or stamping into it for de-bossed effects. I just used it for the enamel glossy  mixed colored look, but you should try all other effects too as this is "Must" powder in your collection.
As those chipboard had heart shaped windows, I decided to add some glitter embossing powder inside. And here is my tip for this kind of embossing: add some double sided clear glue sheet on the back of your chipboard, keeping the back side of  the glue covered with a protective film. Then sprinkle embossing powder inside and heat it, but  if you do it after you already embossed  the chipboard outer surface, try to heat directly inside. The best way is to made the inside parts as the first step on embossing, but you never know unless you make some mistakes. So next time the inside should be done before the outsides. I used  Pearl Gold Sparkle powder inside my two heart chipboards and left the third one as is.  And now to the best tip: take  the backside protective film out, cover with clear embossing powder and heat emboss it to make the backside of your chipbords smooth and  waterproof.

I made the chain with old recycled gold plated chain, added a fabric brad over one chipboard and made  two ribbon bows around this huge metal key. All together this is a nice usable key /bag chain, and as it is all covered with  embossing powders it should last  at least for a few long month.
Then, as my embossing powders and my chipboards were on the craft table, I added this small embossed magnet to this Love set.
I used 4 more Tando chipboards for this small project. The heart with wings was covered with Pastel Blue powder, twice at least, and I added the Clear Multi Sparkle glitter over it. The lock and a key were covered with  Metallic Copper powder. The heart was  embossed with Pastel Pink  and then with Apple Red over it and look how nice is the coverage as we still can see some pinks, like an old crackle paste.

Product list:
WOW! Embossing Powders:
Cardinal Red
 Apple Red
 Pastel Pink
Clear Brailee
 Pearl Gold Sparkle
Pastel blue
Clear Multi Sparkle
 Metallic Copper
Chipboards - Tando Creative UK
Ribbons: Really Reasonable Ribbon shop
Other: key, chains, connectors
See you all next month with more embossed inspiration!

Show A Little Love

Hello all, Donna here in little ol New Zealand.

Today's share is a project that I created for fun and thought it would be perfect to share with you all this month.  I am very lucky to have an amazing boss who lets me bring toys from work home.  I have admired this die for some time and thought it would be lots of fun to play with.

For this project I used a Versamark Ink Pad and  Clear Gloss Embossing Powder.
It is very simple.
I have inked my die cuts and then added layers of embossing powders till I got the desired effect.  In total I used  5 to 10 layers of embossing powder.
Tip:   used tweezers so you don't burn your fingers :-)

I hope you have enjoyed my share today and I will be back next month.
Before I go have you checked out this months challenge, there is still time for you to enter.  I have been a long and looked at all the entries so far and they are all stunning, so If you are after some inspiration go check it out.

Do you know we are on face book!  you can find us here.  If you have been creating with embossing powder we would love to see what you have been up to, so why not load up a photo on our face book page to see.

See you later, Happy scrappin, take care Donna   xox

Where There Is Love...There Is WOW!

In general, Valentine's Day passes as most other days in our household. There are two main reasons why it doesn't live up to the hype for us. The first good reason is that we believe every day should include at least a hug, a kiss and an "I love you". The second is that within 2 weeks, my husband and I celebrate our "first date anniversary". We were together for 5 years before getting married and I want that time to count! So every year, that is our special time to focus on each other. A couple of weeks ago, the realization came to me that I have been with my husband over half my life now!! WOW!!

Inspired by my WOW! Moment and thinking about the coming event, I put together a little album where I will write some personal sentiments reminiscing on when we began our happily ever after.

On the front cover of the album, I attempted the latest Chalkboard technique. Another one of our designers shared a tutorial on this a few weeks ago.

I heat embossed in opaque bright white the hearts from WOW's Gratitude stamp set and the "LOVE" sentiment from the Love Beyond Measure stamp set. I also used our embossing pen to hand draw the ribbon and rest of the quote. Then I heat embossed it again with Opaque bright white.

I'm showing a little bit of WOW's newest glitter embossing powder called Vodka Sparkle. This is part of the Girl's Night Out limited edition collection. Isn't it delicious? I use it throughout the album to touch up some of the embellishments I use.

For the background pages of the album, I used one of the Funky Border Strips stamps with a lovely script text. On the right side page, I used the Flowers stamp set within a heart shaped mask. You can also see hearts embossed on top of my first layer of stamping. I used Bubble Gum from the Suzy West Candy Counter collection with the stacked hearts from the Gratitude stamp set.

The button in the center of the bow was made with WOW's new Melt-It powder. In combination with a teaspoon or Melt It and a tad each (a little less than 1/8 teaspoon) of clear, pastel peach and Vodka Sparkle from the WOW Collection, I melted the powders and poured it into a mold from Martha Stewart.

By shaping the curly border stamp on a large acrylic block, I was able to follow the shape of the heart to add a unique border to the album pages.

Here's a little more of Vodka Sparkle on a white fabric flower I used underneath the paper rose.

I love the way this album turned under 2 hours! It was so easy to create background pages with the borders stamps and some eye-popping bright white. The Vodka Sparkle was fun to play with, but there's so much more to do with these glitter powders! I can't wait to start on a St. Patrick's Day something or another project with the other glitter collection - Desert Sands - that has rich gold colors.

Sharing a little love

Hi there,

It's Nikki again and today it's my turn to show you my make on out Romance & Love theme....
This is the little card that I made today,
And a couple of close ups for you...

This is a little 4 x 4 card (I just adore little cards at the moment).
I made the heart by die cutting 4 hearts from some of the wonderful resist paper. Inked them all over - then wiped over them with a cloth to take away the extra ink. Next came the inking of the edges in a different colour. Then I folded them in half and stuck them together.
The finished heart is a great 3d embellishment that will fold flat for going in the post (yay - no extra postal charges!) and then pop back out when it is taken out the envelope.
The background strip was a torn piece of the resist paper that I had inked all over.

I just can't get enough of this resist paper - fantastic for cards on the go but also great for all your crafting needs.

We'd love to see your romantic themed embossing projects. Make sure you leave a link to your blog so we can pop over and visit.
Happy craftin
Nikki x

1890 Hat

Hello, WOW fans! Anne here with a greeting card I made using my favorite of all the WOW Embossing Powders, Metallic Gold Rich Pale Regular. As my focal point, I used a lovely digi stamp created by Rick St. Dennis. Being completely enamored of turn-of-the-century fashion, I knew I had to color this image the moment I saw it. You know how some images or colors or designs just speak to you? Well, this was one of those things for me. If there is anything I love as much as heat embossing on my projects, it's coloring with alcohol inks.

Anyway, I'd like to share this little card with you today. As you can see, I used the gold embossing powder on my greeting but I also used the WOW Embossing Pen on the flower shapes around the frame to color them gold as well as the earrings and brooch, which on which I used the Clear Gloss Super Fine Embossing Powder to give them the look of crystal and onyx. In addition, I pressed the edges of the image, which I die cut with a Spellbinders die, into my embossing pad and dusted them with the same gold powder. I used it again on the inside sentiment. The gold powder just fits so well with many of my project designs and has become my regular "go-to" powder, especially when I'm making cards.

For more details on this card and to see my other projects, please visit my personal blog, Anniebee's Craft Room. With Spring just around the corner, I'm looking forward to warmer weather and flowers in bloom. It's almost time to start those  St. Patrick's Day, Easter and Passover cards and gifts too. Look for lots of inspiration for your springtime projects right here in the coming weeks.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Until next time, have a lovely weekend and...

Happy crafting!

With Love On Valentines Day...

Hi, it's Sarah here from Sarah Rhodes Designs with a couple of Valentines Card Designs for you on the theme of Love...

The first project uses one of my favourite stamp sets from the Wow Embossing Powder stamp range: Is It A Bird Stamp Set

I have used the small heart stamp and repeated the stamp to create a lovely heart pattern (TIP: I inked and embossed one line of hearts at a time so that the ink didn't dry out before adding the embossing powder!) The gorgeous deep pink colour that I used to heat emboss the hearts is Wow Tickled Pink Embossing Powder

To finish the card, I looped a strip of pretty striped ribbon and attached a tag that I'd printed and cut out.

Is It A Bird Stamp Set

Wow Tickled Pink Embossing Powder

Here is a similar design but uses a different Wow stamp for the 'With Love' sentiment and a range of pink coloured embossing powder.

I have used the small heart stamp from Wow! Is It A Bird Stamp Set and repeated the stamp to create a lovely heart pattern (TIP: I inked and embossed one line of hearts at a time so that the ink didn't dry out before adding the embossing powder!) There are 4 pink colours used with two lines of hearts in each colour. The gorgeous graduating pink colours are (from top to bottom):

Wow! Pastel Pink Embossing Powder
Wow! Magenta Embossing Powder
Wow! Tickled Pink Embossing Powder
Wow! Cardinal Red Embossing Powder

I stamped extra hearts onto matching card and punched these out with a circular punch. Add these using 2/3mm foam pads to create depth to the background pattern. Stamp 'With Love' sentiment from the Wow! Everyday Sentiments Stamp Set and cut around the sentiment and add this to the card using 2mm foam pads.

Love or Romantic...Or Just because

Sesil here with a quick card.  I know Valentine's Day was yesterday but that never stops me from making a card for someone I love.  We don't need a holiday to let people know that we are thinking of them or that we love them.  I love sending cards and making cards to brighten someone's day.

Today I have this simple card made by stamping the heart background and embossing on white paper with clear embossing powder.  Then I took a brush and took some ink to the paper to give the ombre effect with the red paint. I love this effect with the embossing image resisting the ink and making the images just POP.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment on vellum paper and adhered it to my hearts.

I hope you were inspired to create a card for someone you love....Just because.

Thanks for stopping by. Make sure to keep checking our blog for more great inspiration using WOW! Embossing Powders.
Keep your heat gun is time to emboss.
Till next time.  Happy Crafting.

A Little Lovin!

Hi Everyone
Sue Here

This month is all L-O-V-E-D up month and I am showing you what you can do with polystyrene and embossing powders.

Firstly get a Craft polystyrene heart.  I purchased these from The Range for £1.99 and you get some small ones and medium ones.  I've chosen a medium one for the demo.

Next roll it in Versamark and Apple Red embossing powder.  Heat set.  BE CAREFUL as the polystyrene starts to bubble when hot.  I used a poky tool to hold it.  Its really good as it forms craters in the heart shape giving it dimension.

Then add other colours like Indigo, Black and Gold Rich.  I also used a Versamark pen to get into some of the craters left by the heat gun.  Keep going until you have your desired effect. I then added a piece of ribbon and dressmakers pin for the loop and a sentiment from WOW 'Love beyond Measure' with a dressmakers pin and WOW ebony embossing powder.

Keep warm and all loved up this month...Sue!
