Monocromatic Spring

Hi Everyone

At WOW HQ this month is the theme of Spring.

I decided to use the stamps 'Make a Wish' and 'Lace' in my project.

I firstly made the background by using a leaf embossing folder from Sheena Douglas and white cardstock running this through my E Bosser.

I then used the technique 'monocrome with an acrylic block'.  I placed on my Slim Jim's black and white acrylic paint dots then squashed a further acrylic block on top of this making a pattern with the paint.  I then pulled them apart and transferred the paint pattern onto a piece of white cardstock, by placing the block onto the card.  I then let these dry.

The trees I used the stem from the 'Make a Wish' large dandelion and added on top, half of the lace stamp cut like a tree.  I then stamped out the lace a further 3 times and cut out the flowers. I used one on each tree and the rest were cut in half and used as decoration on the top and bottom of the card.

All the items were stamped and inked with Versamark and heat set with WOW ebony embossing powder.

The picture was then framed with black cardstock.

Get yourself some blocks - one colour and try some different techniques. Think outside the box with your stamps.

Spring Flowers!

I love the fabulous picture that has been chosen as the inspiration picture for our current challenge: Spring. The pink blossom is just gorgeous, so I decided to created a little pink blossomed 'something' as my project this month!
I wasn't sure which pinks I wanted to use, so had fun experimenting a bit! Here are the results...
In the end, I chose to use flowers numbers 1, 2 and 4 from the sheet!
The flowers were attached to some springy wire, then added to a small wooden candlestick. I put some white card 'grasses' in there too, and included text paper and white cord as extra details!
Experimenting with colour mixes is great fun, it's amazing the difference in shades you can achieve just by adding a tiny tiny amount of powder!
Have fun,
Trish xxxx

Spring Rings from WoW Embossing Powders.

Rings for Spring with WoW powders

For my project this month Iv'e made some rings with the WoW ring blanks.  These rings will brighten up your Spring wardrobe as you can match the colours to your outfits.

These rings are so easy to make.  Just melt some Melt It powders and your chosen colour in a Melt Pot or small metal container and pour the melted powders into the various WoW Flower moulds available on the WoW website.

Whilst the powder is still melted just carefully place the ring blank into the powder and wait a little while for the powder to harden before letting go of the blank. Hey presto - ready-made rings for you to wear for all occasions.

Products used:

WoW Ring blanks (pack of 5)

Embossing Powders :-
Melt It
Flourescent Green
Flourescent Yellow

Sweet Laughter

Hello and welcome back to wow embossing powders.  This months theme is spring.  My project inspired by spring colours and some photos I took of flowers and my children in spring last year.

Sweet Laughter!

I have used wow embossing powders to transform my background page.  I used a stencil and texture paste and then applied the Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder over the texture paste. Heat set.

Close up

I used a number of photos I had taken and added them to my back ground.  To bring my photos into the background I used the same method as above but this time I used Bright white.  You get more of a distress look when applying to photos as the powder likes to stick to the photos.  You could spend some time with a paint brush and remove some of the excess powder.

Wow Products used:
WC01 Metallic Gold Rich Pale

WL01 Bright White

Spring flowers with love

This months theme is spring and I just love spring. It's my favourite season of all. Where I used to live spring ment the perfect time to go visit our little cottage far up in the mountains, going skiing, ice fishing and ridning snowmobiles. And yes, digging holes in the snow, putting down raindeer hides and catching a tan. Now it's warm days, spring flowers, warm asphalt and long walks with the dogs. I love it! And best of all, no bugs.

I made this card inspired by the soft spring colors and spring flowers. I embossed the flowers in copper embossing powder and colored them using AquaMarkers.

I love the foil trend that is so popular right now and wanted to try the Fab Foil, since I don't have a laser printer I used the bonding powder and I think it looks great for my first try. It's very shiny and pretty!

I hope you liked my spring inspiration. See you next month, I'm looking forward to seeing what you make for the challenge!

Spring has sprung!!

Hello there!

I don't know about where you all are...but Spring is definitely starting to Spring here in the UK and not a moment too soon!

As you may know, our theme this month ties in nicely with the changing of the seasons...create something Spring related!  I'm sure there will be plenty of feel-good projects finding their way to the linky this month...

My card is based on colours that remind me of Spring...

The background is ink stamped directly onto an acrylic block and then spritzed with some water and pressed onto the card from.  I added some ink directly from the ink pad too.

The sentiment is embossed using WOW! Clear Matt Dull powder which juxtaposes the glitter on the butterflies.

After I die cut the butterflies, I heat embossed each one with two powders.

This one uses Vintage Peacock and Calypso glitter powders.

The lower butterfly uses Green Shimmer powder and Primary Lagoon. The Green Shimmer does exactly what it says on the tin!! The body just uses Primary Lagoon Powder.

The butterfly to the left uses a combination of Green Shimmer and Calypso glitter powders and the body is embossed in Primary Luscious Lime - it is luscious!!

I hope you can find the time to join us this month and have fun with it!!

Spring is here - with Irit

 Hello my dear crafty  friends!
Irit is here and this is my Spring ART Journal spread made with a lot(I mean it) of WOW!Embossing Powders and as I am very new to art journalling I just hope you like my work.

First I used some acrylics to cover those pages with a mix of spring colours. Then I added some texture paste with masks using Memory box Modern Flower Power mask and a mix of embossing powders over it.
Powders used are:
Opaque Primary Sunny Yellow
Vanilla white
Opaque Pastel Purple
Primary Lemon
Then I added those masked children figures covered with a thick layer of Primary Lemon powder and I even heat embossed them twice to get this 3d look. I used Tando mask to make those figures.

Another Memory box mask was used to make the sun  on the left corner and I added both yellow powders used before and then some  Orange and a bit of Peach Gleam to get this sun look on my page.

As art pages should be flat (we do need to close the journal) I just added the stamped sentiment (stamped over tissue) and a bit of white pen doodling around.
Now it's your turn! Enter our monthly Spring challenge and you can win some lovely products to make your own art page too!
See you next month!
