Layering Embossing Powders to Create Dimension

Hi Everyone! It's Jenny from the Creative Team here and today I'm joining you to share two card projects which use layering dies and layering stamps with embossing powder to create gorgeous shine and dimension. You can check out the creative process over on the WOW! YouTube channel or here: I love layering stamps - but I'd never tried them with embossing powder except as a highlight layer.  The new WOW! trios really excited me and I got the idea for these cards because some of the hard work is taken out of working out which colours to go for with the trios.  They're perfect complementary colors that go great together (either tones or combos) and super for this technique. For my first card I used the Aquatini Trio which includes Curacao and Splash embossing powders and a glitter.  I only used the embossing powders for my first card, and I supplemented them with Cloud 9 for the middle layers, Seaglass for the lightest layer, and Sparkling Snow fo

Scattered Hearts - Raluca Vezeteu

Hi everyone and welcome back to our creative WOW space!  Raluca  here and I'm so excited to share with you my new CAS card showcasing a few of the absolutely amazing SPARKLE!  WOW Embossing Powders ! I created this card to play along with the " Hearts/ Pinks & Red " theme for the Wow! Embossing Powder Facebook Fan Group page monthly challenge -  ❤ WOW Embossing Powder Fans ❤ For my card I played with the gorgeous  SPRK007 Coral Beach SPARKLES , the  SPRK008 Peachy Keen SPARKLES  and the fabulous  SPRK023 Your Carriage Awaits SPARKLES  glitters, along with the  WL01 Bright White  embossing powder.  I've also used these WOW must have tools  WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing Pad ,  WOW! Dual Speed Heat Tool - Euro  and  WOW! Premium Embossing Craft Mat . I just love the awesome sparkle of these beautiful glitters! I don't have enough words to describe how beautiful they sparkle in the sun!

Corrugated Hearts By Jaine

I love playing with textures and creating cards with textured elements is very satisfiying.  I had a piece of corrugated card on my craft table which was left over from another project and wondered how it would look if I embossed over the top of it. I lightly went over with a little gesso, almost dry brushing it on, to give it a slightly worn finish before cutting out the heart. I then tapped my Embossing pad over the top to catch the ridges and embossed in a lovely dark pinky/red shade of powder called Primary Pink Robin.  I also embossed a larger heart in Metalline Red which I chose to use on my card front adding a die cut word from Pretty Pink Posh, embossed with the new Black Magic which is in the shops soon. I love the slightly grungy look the heart has especially with the gesso peeking out from underneath. Why not have a go for yourself, it's great fun and brings out the texture superbly! Jaine

Heart of Gold with Gemma

Today I’m sharing a clean and simple card with lots of sparkle! The idea for this card definitely began with this fabulous sentiment from MFT. I die cut a Heffy Doodle Metric Stitched rectangle, then heat embossed the sentiment from MFT Essential Sentiments stamp set with WOW Metallic Gold Super Fine embossing powder. Above the sentiment, I die cut the MFT Hearts in a Row Horizontal die, then adhered the panel onto my card base. Next, I took one of the die cut hearts and covered it with embossing ink. I then heat embossed it with WOW Pearl Gold Sparkle embossing glitter. For the other two hearts, I covered them with embossing ink again, then heat embossed them with WOW Vintage Candy Cane embossing glitter. I adhered the two red hearts into the outer die cut spaces on the card with liquid glue. I used foam squares to add the gold sparkle heart in the centre space to finish. Thanks for joining me today, Gemma

Pink & Silver Card with Dana

Hello, everyone! It's Dana here and I'd like to share another Pinks/Reds/Hearts inspiration of this month. I started by ink blending a piece of white card stock with distress oxide inks and mini blending tool. I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick and Pink Raspberry colors. I then die cut heart from that card stock using Altenew Halftone Hearts Nesting Die. Next, I heat embossed the image from Crafty individuals CI-471 Make A Wish Art Rubber Stamp in silver using WOW! Metallic Silver Sparkle Embossing Glitter. After heat embossing, I punched a hole for red twine as shown in the picture. I also stamped a sentiment from Mama Elephant I Like You Stamp Set in black where I wanted them. To finish, I mounted two patterned papers onto an A2 sized white card base and popped up heart panel using foam adhesive. Hope you enjoyed today's card. Happy crafting! Supplies

Hi there! Emily Midgett back with you today for my second guest post for WOW! Embossing! Today, I have a pretty, feminine card for you using lots of pretty peachy-pink and even some sparkles, so let's get started with the details!  I began by heat embossing that absolutely gorgeous Rebecca Lace background from Simon Says Stamp using WOW's Soft Mango embossing powder on some beautiful Peony ( SSS | EH ) card stock. The Peony card stock is a lovely shade of soft pink, and the Soft Mango is just a tad darker shade of coral, which makes for a very pretty tone-on-tone combination! This stamp is also super detailed, and the WOW embossing powder picked up every single detail just beautifully.    I wanted a sparkly greeting, so I created some custom glitter card stock using the WOW Bridal Sparkles. I began by adding some 1" Scor Tape (a heavy duty tape adhesive) to some card stock, then die cut the lovely "smile" ( SSS | EH ) from The Stamp Market from
