Stencils and Backgrounds | Rawrsome Cards with WOW! Emossing

Happy Thursday Darlings!

I hope you have all been having a wonderful week so far. Today I am here with a Rawrsome card created using a lot of WOW! products from the new release. As soon as I saw the 'Time Traveller' Trio set (as pictured above), I knew I had to make a card that went way back in time to the prehistoric ages!
To find out how to make a card like the one above, read on :)

1. On whitecard stock (you can use scarp/left over card stock), add WOW! Embossing Ultra Slow Drying Ink to cover a 5x5 inch space, sprinkle over 'Berryburst' embossing powder and set into place with a heat embossing tool. What I love about this powder is those gorgeous flecks of yellow infused into this beautiful deep purple, which add dimension to the background, and has a beautiful glossy shine :)

2. Taking a light blue/grey cardstock, WOW! Embossing Ultra Slow Drying Ink, and the newly released 'Splots' stencil, ink over the stencil until all areas are covered.

3. Remove the stencil and with WOW! 'Time Traveller' trio set, sprinkle each powders in thirds over the cardstock and set into place with a heat tool.

4. Using various sized heart-shaped dies, cut as many as possible from the embossed 'Splots' cardstock. This will give you room to play around with how you would like to position your patterned hearts :) Any left overs can always be used for another card.

5. Using Clearly Besotted's 'Prehistoric Plushies' stamp set, stamp an image onto white cardstock and colour in. Stamp the sentiment onto burgundy cardstock, using a slow drying embossing ink and heat emboss WOW! 'Wheatfields' powder.

6. Place the sentiment and image onto foam tape and place top-centre of your 'Berryburst' base layer, then use a mixture of thick and thin foam tape to place your hearts around the card to add different layers to the design. This is my favourite part as it ties the whole design in together!

I hope you enjoy this design and I cannot wait to see your interpretation of Stencils and Backgrounds with WOW :)

Love, Jo

Mixed Media ATCs by Guest Artist Aditi Mahajan

Hello lovelies,

Aditi here, back with a fun project and video tutorial for you all.

Today I'm creating a set of ATCs with mixed media techniques and layers. Before we dive in, here's a look at them:

Here's the video tutorial for you to create along:

Here's a quick look at the steps in creating these ATCs:
1. Cut cardstock to 2.5" x 3.5"
2. Stamp and heat set the background stamp with Bright White Embossing Powder.
3. Add watercolours and play around. With the embossing powder, we'll have a nice resit background.
5. Distress the edges with embossing ink and Fruit Tingle Embossing Powder.
4. Stamp with black ink.
5. Emboss die cut elements using Bright White, Fruit Tingle and Clear Ocean Powders.
6. Layers the elements creating a composition.
7. Complete the cards with some sequins and word stickers.

Here are a few close ups:

I hope you'll have enjoyed this tutorial today! If you're inspired to create your own tags, don't forget to tag me @addi.mahajan on Instagram so I can see them !

Video | Sparkle & Shine | Mixed Media Tag

Hej and Welcome!

It's Martina here with another Sparkle & Shine project for WOW Embossing Powders.

Todays Video can be watched *HERE* on the WOW Youtube Channel!

As always, I highly recommend to watch the processvideo :)

Here are the steps for my tag:

Glue Mixed Media Paper onto a MDF base.

Using a matte, transparent Medium/Texture Paste, glue Die Cuts onto the Mixed Media paper.

When the medium is dry, add colours from wax crayons to the created background, ideally by using your fingertip to blend the colours.

Die cut some nice leaves, heat emboss some of them.

Stamp a focal point, fussy cut it and glue it on your project.

Die cut a word from double sided adhesive tape and add some sparkle to it before glueing it to your project.

I really hope you like this tag and feel inspired to get creative!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a wonderful day!

Minimum effort but Maximum effect Butterfly Card!

Hello lovely crafty friends, it’s Sasha here with another Cardmakers Delight! As summer is in full swing, most of us want to spend less time indoors and more time enjoying the glorious weather. So today I’ll be sharing a super simple way to make cards that look like you spent a lot more time than you did making it! I’ll also be showcasing the Obsidian Powder from the new release, it’s such a beautiful showstopper!

So I start by trimming a sheet of A5 WOW! Embossing Powder superior cardstock into 5 x 7 inches. I then take my WOW! embossing slow drying ink pad and smoosh it onto the middle of the panel, try not to make it straight edged.
Add the Obsidian powder Onto the ink’d area and heat emboss it with the WOW! Embossing Powder dual speed heat tool.

I then go ahead and repeat the above steps but just from inking up the panel and adding obsidian powder. As you heat up this second layer of embossing powder, you will start to see it form the most amazingly beautiful marble. Take your time and swirl the molten powder around to get your desired effect.

Once you are happy with the way it looks, wait for the panel to cool down then stamp (you can use your regular stamping ink) the butterfly and a few of the other elements to decorate. TIP: repeat stamp the butterfly a couple of times so that you get a really crisp and bold image.

Next, take some liquid adhesive and add it with a detailing paint brush to the edges of your embossing, a bit on the actual embossing and on your butterfly.  Wait for the glue to get a bit tacky before adding the gold gilding flakes

Once the panel is dry, take the Hello die and die cut it from the bottom part of the panel. Take the die cut and add black hello letters to it before sticking it back on the panel. I think this technique is called eclipse technique. Finish the card off by sticking this panel onto a 5x7 inch cardbase. Add a black frame created using nesting dies for some interest and of cause some gold pearls for that bling effect!

Thank you so much for popping by, I hope you try making this card, and if you do please tag us on all our social media platform we love to see it! . Have a great day!

Hope Journal Page I Mixed Media I Guest Creative Team I Aditi Mahajan

Hello everyone,

Aditi here and I'm delighted to be guest designing for WOW! this month!

Today I'm sharing a mixed media journal spread with you'll.

I have a quick process reel for this one. Do check it out!

Here's a look at the spread:

I enjoy art journaling as it is a way of playing with mediums, exploring techniques and above all expressing myself and telling my story.

Here are the quick steps to creating this page:
1. I began with smooshing oxides on the page with a transparent backing. I added them particularly where I wanted my elements.
2. I used rub-ons and added various elements to the page. This helped me build my composition.
3. I then added highlights on the floral clusters with the WOW Embossing Pen and added the new release Antique Gold Embossing Powder.
4. I distressed the edges of the page with embossing ink and the same powder for more texture.
5. I completed the page with black background stamping and a sentiment sticker.

Here are a few close ups:

I hope you've enjoyed this page today! I'm looking forward to sharing more of my creations with you all!
