Reel | Sparkle & Shine | Mixed Media Tag

Hej and Welcome! It's Martina here with you with another 'Sparkle and Shine' project.

Todays process can be watched in a Reel on the WOW Embossing IG Channel.

For the background, I have been adding coloured splatters in four different colours.
Whilst the splatters were drying, I have been heat embossing some squares and -using the Mixed Media Brush before adding the powder - a pre cut piece of ephemera.

Over the dried splatters I have been applying texture paste through a stencil and poured embossing powder over it immediately. After this has been dry too, I have been using my dual speed heat tool to set the embossing powder.

Then the pieces just had to be glued together and the tag was finished.

I really hope you liked the process and feel inspired to get creative!

Have a grea day!

Martina

Love, Cheese and Embossing!

Hello wonderful crafty friend! It’s Sasha here. Thank you so much for taking a peek at the Wow Blog. Today I’m sharing the second card in the two for one Valentine’s Day craft. The first part can be found on YouTube with a full tutorial. There is also a reel the kinda shows the process for this second card.

Anyway, enough waffle, let’s craft! So I started by placing the BRAND NEW sprinkled hearts stencil on a 3.5’ x 8.5’ panel of the WOW embossing smooth card stock. Then I ink blended worn lipstick and candied apple distress oxides over the top half of the stencil.

The next step was to take the left over cheesy heart die cut from part 1 of this project (which you will find on YouTube), and cut of one of the top corners to make it look like someone took a cheeky bite of our cheese. I Used a black marker to give the heart a bit of a border. Then I propped it up with some foam tape before sticking it down to the panel.

I colour with a marker and colouring pencil mix because that’s what I prefer, but use what ever medium you prefer to colour with and colour your mouse digistamp from Polkadoodles. Fussy cute your little fella, then add some foam tape to his bottom half and stick him over your cheesy heart.

Finish your card off with your preferred sentiment. I just typed this one that says “Cheesus! I love you!” I love a good pun so I thought this would be a good time to display my British sense of humour haha! Add a few drops of  limoncello jewel drops to tie it all together!

Hope you Enjoyed this post and don’t forget to tag WOW embossing and myself on social media if you do try this fun technique. Also check out the YouTube video tutorial if you haven’t already. Have a WOW rest of the day!

Hi everyone!  I am super excited to be back today sharing another fun way to use powders to create a mixed media styled card!  So let's get started!

I started with a gelli print background for the card panel of my card.  I love starting with backgrounds from my stash!  I fell in love with these colors and used the colors on the background for my inspiration.

I started with a die cut from Altenew.  I die cut this in my die cutting machine and then heat embossed part of the die cut with Decadent Ruby powder.  When I apply embossing ink to die cuts I use a brayer to apply the ink.  Once heat set, I set this aside.  Next I stamped images on the background panel using Archival Ink.  I used stamps with a pattern, as well as text.

Once the background was stamped, I chose a stencil from my collection, Triangle Blast from Simon Says Stamp.  I applied Ranger texture paste in various triangles, then applied Mud Pie Embossing Powder from the Just Desserts collection.  I used my heat tool to melt the powder.  Be careful not to overheat the powder and paste, it will start to bubble!
To add a bit more interest to my card, I applied some washi tape to a couple sections of the panel.  Then I used white paint, as well as gold to add splatters to the background!  I love the added dimension!

Next I die cut a flower - Etched Flower buds.  I die cut this 2 times and glued them together.  Then I sprayed the flowers with some Lindy's Gang Sprays.  I used several colors.

To complete the card I chose some Tim Holtz Ephemra from my stash.  Once I had determined the placement for my die cuts and ephemra I glued everything down using a combination of liquid glue and foam adhesive.  I added a pre-made sentiment and adhered this with foam tape.

Thank you so much for joining me today!  Be sure to pop over to Instagram to check out my reel sharing an overview of how I created today's card!
I will be back soon!

Crafty Hugs,
Natasha

Miki's draft! Twister A2 Cards - SNEEK PEAK

Hi Friends!

Welcome back to the blog! It's Miki here and today I have a set of two cards for WOW! Embossing Powder to share with you.

For today's cards I used the newly released Twister stencil - this was so much fun to play with! To start with, I cut two panels to A2 size - I picked coloured card stock in cream and navy blue. Firstly, I applied antistatic powder to my panels and added the Twister stencil on top. Using a brush I applied the WOW! Embossing ink all over. This ink is fantastic for designs like this because it dries very slowly, giving you enough time to cover an entire panel. I removed my stencil and applied a generous layer of embossing powder - for the cream panel I went with the Hibiscus powder and for the navy one I went with Midnight Sky, both from the Tropical Nights Trio. I love how vibrant, yet different these powders are. I then heat set them using the WOW! Heat Tool and set them aside.

The moment I saw this stencil I knew I wanted to use the SSS Just Because Word Mix 2 sentiments. I picked two from the set - a little note and lucky to know you and stamped them in black. I then picked some circle dies and cut them out. I then cut my embossed panels a bit smaller than an A2 card size and added them to A2 card bases using foam tape. I also used some foam tape to adhere my sentiments in the circle of the design.

Today's cards are super simple but I think the embossing powders shine beautifully through the stencil, what do you think? I also have a reel showing you how I made these cards so please make sure to check out the WOW! Instagram page!

If you like my projects, please make sure to come say hi on my Instagram, Blog, Facebook or Youtube.

Take care,
Miki
